Considering that the 2019 remake was complete soulless garbage, I had zero expectations for this in the first place. Can't be disappointed that way.
Same
It weren’t garbage lol
I agree with you and we can all say the movie was garbage but it did make over +1 billion worldwide. 🤷🏽♂️
@@dukeofgotham4311some of the most profitable movies in history are also some of the worst movies in history
TLK 2019 is not considered live action. It’s animated. And you can’t prove me otherwise.
Sonic 3 sweep. Hedgehogs are at the top of the animal kingdom
All Hail Shadow.
@@D4rkKn1ght311 Heroes rise again.
booya!!!
That's not what sweep means? It means to win every category of something, you could stretch it to winning most categories if no other films have won the same amount.
Imagining hedgehogs at the top of the pride rock looking down on all the animals is hilarious 😂
Says a lot that the direct to VHS movie Lion King 2 from over 20 years ago was leaps and bounds better than this embarrassment.
That film had less the budget and huge shoes to fill, but you could tell a pretty substantial number of people genuinely tried with that film. Like somebody said, "Yeah, there's no way this will live up to the first, but we're going to give it what we've got anyway".
This and the 2019 remake? It honestly felt like something made for investors.
I would rather watch Aladin 4: Jafar may need glasses.
IKR! So was Return of Jafar and King of Thieves!
Oof those were rough too.. Remember Tarzan 2?
At least they had the sense to rip off Romeo and Juliet for that sequel. Since Lion King 1 was Hamlet they should have kept the tradition going.
RIP James Earl Jones. A true legend.
didnt know he died , thanks for head's up , google say's September of this year
@@creatorsfreedom6734There's been a lot of terrific old actors and actresses that passed away in 2024, aside from James Earl Jones, such as Maggie Smith for example.
Is it disappointing if you didn't have any expectations in the first place?
Yes
No, it's then just expected
Yes because they spent the money on this crap instead of something people want, like live action Atlantis, or a remake of Tresure Planet
You can have no expectations and still be disappointed by how bad something is
its disappointing to the title of the lion king. ips just getting disrespected nowadays
When they completely butchered 'be prepared' in the 2019 version how could anyone have faith in this? Madness
My favorite song in the original too
I couldn't even finish the "live action" remake. Soulless and boring. No pro voice actors. I watched the cartoon a hundred times.
Facts
They're not supposed to be heavilly compared.
They hired a "black voice" to perform as a CGi african lion. Can't be more childish and pathetic than this, voices have "color" now
Beta lion left alone with all the females as punishment.
" Oh No , as a male lion this is the last thing I wanted...".
Lol
Sonic 3 wins by default, obviously. Mufasa never stood a chance. Just like I said before, Sonic 3 will dethrone Mufasa in the box office.
It's going to be a massacre. 😂
I think internationally the numbers will save Mufasa some face. Places like the USA and in Tokyo Sonic 3 will massacre Mufasa in the box office though.
Sonic will take down mufasa like a lion takes down a giselle. Only the giselle is a dead bloated rat
Mufasa was good the music wasn’t much but it was good not bad at all.
@@FooFamBoomBinker This weekend Mufassa will do better than Sonic 3 internationally. Because Sonic doesn't release internationally until Christmas Day.
This is supposed to be a joyous part of the year, and Joe is dragging them to all these terrible movies lol
At least Sonic 3 was good.
Not sure why he feels the need to watch and review these when it’s obvious they’ll be terrible lol

At least they actually watch the product and then say their opinion rather than jus having an opinion on something they haven't seen
Once again CGI lion in Narnia is much better than CGI lion in Mufasa
Its just shocking how true that is
Sonic made the changes Lion King wouldnt make
And that's CGI in 2005 man...
Then why does Sonic’s cgi look like a video game?
Still cracks me up that people consider the first film to be “live action”.
More of a photorealistic adaptation
What else do you call it? I mean it's not a cartoon and it's attempting to create a real life version of the characters. I think calling it live action is easiest because people know what you mean and you haven't offered a solution so I don't know what you want bud
@@hibbity_hooblah Live action is "action involving real people or animals, not models, or images that are drawn, or produced by computer". That's literally the first thought I had when he said it was a White Lion, like man Disney that feud is almost 40 years old get over it, Kimba came out first and you got so butthurt over it
It's more allegorical than that. Disney took a movie about Lions and still literally made a white species the villains of their African setting.

This is looking like lightyear all over again.
So sad that it would increase over time surpassing Sonic. Disney knows people would watch it no matter how bad it is.
@martinqizeaq It won't. The Disney brand is damaged, even Moana 2 isn't hitting a billion.
I remember working at the theater when the live action remake came out in 2019. Sometimes I would ask how people enjoyed the movie just to gauge what people were enjoying at the time. So many people went to watch that movie with their kids, and when they walked out they had nothing positive to say about it other than the songs sounding good. The original had heart and when you first watched it you felt the loss of Mufasa. I just remember feeling nothing during that moment in the remake and then felt nothing as I continued watching it. We didn’t need either of these movies and they won’t be remembered for anything at all
How can you be disappointed if you expected it to suck?
Sometimes when you expect something to suck and you when you actually watch that particular movie, it might turn out to be good. I said the same thing about Wicked before watching it and boy I was wrong about my expectation, it was good. Mufusa on the other was nothing but disappointment.
@@GameTube00Wicked was trash. Stop it

Re-watching a bunch of old Disney stuff lately, been feeling nostalgic, and i think i've officially become a "man, old animation is SO much better than all this new CGI shit" type of person. The circle of life opening from the original is just mindblowingly good animation, especially for the early 90s. i haven't seen the 2019 remake and have no desire to, and that applies to this new one. I just have no idea why you'd want to remake something that already looked so good on the basis of "let's make it look better" only for it to end up looking soulless.
I seldom comment, however, I went out of my way to find the songs, "Bye Bye", and, "I Always Wanted a Brother", since they were such a massive point of disdain from the outset of the review.
I can only say I wish I hadn't. What a shameful display from a bunch of corporate schmucks.
The Lion King 1½ was the best sequel.
I love dig a tunnel! But Lion King 2 still has a place in my heart! Lullaby is my favorite
@@jadewilson1199 Too many ppl sleep on the musicals in LK2 🔥
LION KING 1.5 was the best sequel ever. I still have that movie on DVD. Having timone and pumba review the movie by breaking the 3rd wall was hilarious.
Lion King 1½ was far better than even Lion King 2.
Something went wrong in the timeline where the prequel to a beloved Disney franchise is worse than the 3rd installment of a video game movie franchise. If this were the 90s, no chance Sonic 3 beats Mufasa
You forgot to mention if it had any heart and effort that went into making Mufasa along with better songs and better narrative story.
The problem with this movie is that nobody asked for this. Unfortunately, all the Disney sheep will take their kids to see this, and it will take the box office crown, which is a shame, because people suck. Beyoncé is a terrible actress, and from what I've heard, her nepobaby daughter isn't much better.
I hope I'm wrong, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 takes down Mufasa, but I have my doubts.
Not shocking. The lion king live action was horrible. Especially the cast sucked as well.
I feel like they didn’t pick the cast based on who’s best for the role. The casting felt forced though there’s some great ones like Mads Mikkelson and Keith David.
Two words: Deception, Disgrace! Disney is strategically ruining our childhoods and ruining our memories we can share with our children.

"Huge disappointment" why, Joe? Did you expect anything good? The movie was bound to be bad as soon as they chose to use this soulless photorealistic garbage style that people love to call "live action", I'd be disappointed if they made a bad movie in the old animated style, but this? This is just standard for Disney.
I think if they combined this photorealism animated style with a more classic animation style, it could work.
