So if they are to make a live action series for the Lion guard best to leave out the out of context stuff like that Christmas event.

To start, the movie Mufasa takes inspiration from the short book „A Tale Of Two Brothers” which depicts a different backstory of Scar from Lion guard yet it’s set in a separate in-book universe. How the movie handled it instead of Taka getting his scar from a Buffalo he got it from Kiros while protecting Mufasa, thus the movie is a separate universe to the books and to the Lion guard. Not mentioning how in his teenage years, Askari[Lion guard universe Scar] lead his Lion guard, which there was no word about in the Mufasa prequel nor he lead such group of lions as a teen. Also, Scar’s actual name in-movie differs from the Lion guard one. Taka’s name originates from the book series while Askari’s name originates from the first leader of the Lion guard, with both of the names having separate meanings. How i think Disney will handle this is in three ways: 1. The cub is Kion, but he wouldn’t be the leader of the Lion guard however he would still befriend animals like in the series. (Arguments aside, this option has quite high-chances because of Kion’s markability) 2. The cub is Kopa, the book-series son of Simba. (This option would follow how the movie Mufasa takes inspiration from „A Tale Of Two Brothers” which belongs in the in-book universe.) 3. The cub is a new character. Personally, i only agree with the 2 last options because they aren’t as confusing to the lore as the first one.
