So stalker 2 is coming out soon, so here I am watching the first one. It's amazing that your audio set up was crystal clear even 10 years ago haha. Great stuff.
@@psicogames5509 what, who the fuck says your welcome without someone saying thanks. It makes the Seem like an asshole narcissistic, so shut the fuck up.
Ok, after someone in the newest S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 video pointed out to me, that Gopher did have videos of the other S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, I guess I have to watch them.
The moment I heard Moonlight Sonata on the introduction, I knew this would be a good game. Coming directly from playing Metro 2033 for the sixth time did help too :)
Started reading Roadside Picnic and it is absolutely brilliant, the game makes so much more sense now and I really want to traverse the zone. Just like I want to return to the Mojave and California.
Misery 2.0 isn't good for first timers, even ones who played SoC and Clear Sky. The older release (1.0) would be OK but 2.0 turns CoP on its head in regards to mechanics and difficulty so far it isn't funny. And the balance is a bad joke. Good thing the Les Miserable rebalance patch exists. It's a shame really. Too bad that adding multiple mods to STALKER isn't as simple as Bethesda games, a lot of Misery's individual features would work well with other CoP mods.
some crates have something in them, break with knife, and last building in Rookie village, one down from where wolf is has a stalker suit in it roof space, get it by jumping from the roof of wolfs building, and crouching down at gap in building roof, breaking crate with knife and taking it...helps at start of game
As a major fan of the entire Stalker series may I suggest looking into Stalker: Lost Alpha. It's a re-boot of the original. Adding all of the cut materials, monsters, elements, and game regions that were shown/talked about by the developers. It at least triples the game content and represents what the dev's originally intended Stalker SOC to look like. It is NOT a mod. Its a stand alone game using the SOC game content. You can download it for free on moddb.
Looking forward to it as well : ) I kinda think there would've been better mods even for a first playthrough, but in the end it is your choice. Have fun!
Gopher, I wish you'd played some of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SHOC mods which would have really expanded the Zone experience for you. It's just that they have not been translated into English, although I know at least one of them (a huge one, really) that is claimed by the authors to have an English version. It's quite a hardcore mod/add-on with a great number of extra quests plus a huge new story added to the original, lots of new weapons, monsters, locations, npcs and so on. The problem is this mod absolutely cannot be played through without outside help due to many secret stashes which are nearly impossible to find and/or retrieve without a proper clue. Correction: unfortunately, the translation of this mod isn't full, as I've just found out(.
games that me feel like you felt when orig playing stalker was crysis 2...and all of a sudden one day after years i got the same thing from any cod game
Another all-time great game in same rankings as Vampire the Masquerade:Bloodlines and Alpha Protocol (would love to see you do a playthrough Gopher of A/P) Peace!!
No way. The combat system is easy to get use to and you have a shooting range tutorial at near the begining that lets you get use to a variety of weapons. The Game is one of the Top RPG's of all-time. VERY unique with a lot of freedom of choice.
There are three games in the STALKER series. [ In order] Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat. STALKER 2 (4th game of the series) was supposed to come out later this year, but sadly the studio went under and it was canceled. There are semi related to each-other, but there really isn't any experience lost if you don't play them in order. You will get the occasional reference to the other game, and in Clear Sky the ending of the first game is spoiled a bit (The good guys win? What a twist!) but that is the extent of it and they are very sparse.
Nico Langley it's not really a chernoble game- it's based on a film called stalker, which is based on a book called roadside picnic, which was about aliens.
I think you should play "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Lost Alpha", that is basicly what "Shadow of Chernobyl" should have bean, or at least play it after you finish this series when there will be phew patches already :)
I'm torn on whether or not to watch this. I don't watch LP's of games I intend to play myself. I bought STALKER at release, but never finished it. I still have my original disk, but picked up all of the STALKER games a few years ago during a Steam sale intending to play it again, but haven't gotten around to it. Maybe I'll watch the first episode or two and it will stir up my interest and I'll go ahead and play it. I didn't finish it was because of a few reasons, but mostly it was because the very first patch for the game was incompatible with old saves. I had played the game already for several hours, had good gear and didn't want to start over, so I continued to play unpatched. I was probably half way through when I quit. I had made it through the Red Forrest to some radar station, right before the Pripyat area.
glad to see stalker done by you. never finished it myself, atmosphere is great, but the game is too raw, and the AI is rather bad. Care to play the last Stalker? Call of Pripyat if i'm not mistaken.
Gopher how do I know if the mods are working? I have installed exactly the same mods as you and I'm not sure whether some of them will work like Shaders max.
Hey gopher can you please do a quik video how to install everything ? I waited till the day you announced that you where going to play with mods so i can use the same as you do bit they dont work for me. Can you please help me ?
Master difficulty is actually the default. The developers only added lesser difficulties at the insistence of the publisher. I experimented and found little or no difference in combat between easy and master. The only big difference is that you get far more loot on easy, which completely ruins the survivalist atmosphere of the game, turning it into a bloated, tedious inventory management simulator.
So stalker 2 is coming out soon, so here I am watching the first one. It's amazing that your audio set up was crystal clear even 10 years ago haha. Great stuff.
Same. I'm late tho
i like the moonlight sonata in the title screen

Yay! I've been waiting for this.
plans for call of pripyat? my apologies if this was already covered in one of your videos
Really looking forward to this one
Good idea man. Once you finish this (and maybe clear sky) make sure to play CoP with Misery.

Nooo, not now, my graduation exams are near :(
To anyone wondering, the music is Moonlight Sonata.
oh boy oh boy oh boy am I looking forward to this :)
WOO! This is going to be awesome :)
Wow; this is the first time someone actually RECOMMENDED the vanilla version of a game and not a heavily modded version. This game must be good!
Kind of excited to see what this game is all about. :)
There's a simple fix out there that removes the god awful head bob. If you haven't already fixed it.
