His wishes where often times granted by some kind of ilusion. So it would make sence if the "controll" ending shows, how the cc gives him a illusion in which he actually controlls the world. But because he is just as flawed as every other human beeing this simulation of a world in his head shows him, that if he could controll the world doom and catastrophie would be the conclusion. And that is why he looks so shocked. Because everything bad that he sees "happened" because he made bad decisions in his controll over the world. In other words: he thinks, that he is in controll of the world but he fucked up and it destroyed the world as we know it. And all of this is an illusion

Honestly I really love the characterization in the false endings. In the immortality ending he just simply walks up to it with no emotion. Selfishly even. In the No Zone ending though, since he has very good karma, he's displayed as a tool of peace. Once he's done killing the bad guys (Monolith) and mutants, he puts away his AKM74/2U because there's no need for it. To him, he'll just say some words and the Zone and everyone struggling inside, all of the evil inside, will dissappear and his weapon will be useless because there will be peace. In the world domination ending however he has his hood up, he's covering up his dirty sinful head with a hood and walks up to it and soullessly states his intentions. Stuff is art.

I played stalker as a kid (the first one) and I got the money ending. Didnt know anything about the true endings, I watched vids about the fake ones. Now I finished stalker SOC again and I got the true one where i destroyed it. I went to see the fake one Id get and it was the controling/destroying humanity. This is a great game, cant wait for stalker 2. Im gonna play the other two for the first time. Thanks for your vid, i wanted to see the endings explained and you provided a great video. The Control / Destroy humanity one being a black empty space could also represent Strelok being the only human left and thusly, he controls all of humanity. It could also at the same time mean destroy humanity, leaving Strelok the only one left. In this explanation, the ending can even take on a double meaning and still make sense.

17:50 my theory is that strelock's wish triggered a nuclear war which made all the world countries launch nukes at each other. But heres the kicker the game's timing is 2012 In the metro series the world nuked it self in the year 2012 sooooooo

About the joining the C Counciousness ending It heavily reminds me of fo1 ending where vault dweller sides with master or gets dipped in vats. That evil behind green goo, the meeknes. Perhaps they had it on mind cuz they tried to add bozar lmg in clear sky i suppose.
It’s funny,when i got the message about the party waiting for me near the entrance to the chernobyl npp(or in the town before it i did not really pay attention to that)i heard the word “hurry” and i thought there was some sort of time constraint so didn’t wven really prepare for the fight,i did not even know this would lead to the ending,i thought i was still not quite there but some 2 or 3 journeys more from the end.When i realized what i got myself into i was just quicksaving after every monolith soldier i killed in the urban area prior to NPP,and during the NPP phase,at that point i was so pissed off that i just wanted to see what happens and if i ran out of resources i would’ve loaded back to the bar,i regret i made it,i got the money ending and it didn’t really feel represantative of what i thought of my behaviour in the world of stalker,but i just didn’t know anything about the world,i didn’t really figure anything out other than the fact that i was actually strelok.I didn’t know what the C-consciousness was,nor did i have any idea how i could find out in the game,i didn’t know the Wish Granter was some sort of,well,actual monolith stone,i geniunely thought the wish granter was just some pompous nickname for a very strong stalker that was very wealthy himself and he could give some special piece of equipment,maybe based on that the game is right,i AM greedy,i just can’t admit it. But cool video i loved it.😁👌

For the control/destroy ending, perhaps the explaination for the dream about a nuclear apocalyspe is just the way for the wishgranter to explain that the only way to control it is by destroying humanity (like ending is sprending) or serevaly enjure it in a way humanity is stuck in a rock bottom way. At least it's my interpretation of what strelok see.Great video by the way
I think that in the destroy/control ending, Strelok gets flashes of humanity being destroyed and ends up physically in a black void. It's somewhat like the blind ending where to him, humanity has been destroyed with nothing around and having visions of mass genocide.
Interestingly enough if any one here knows about the Anime Series "Fate" the Holy Grail in Fate is Known to do similar stuff like this not necessarily always as extremely or as cruel. but it is known that the Holy grail in Fate can warp wishes and twist them in sometimes cruel ways as well. because of the archaic nature of wishes and how their meanings and intentions can be complex and not always literal it becomes complex. The Holy Grail however isn't actually a direct wish granter in some cases it is mentioned that the holy grail is instead a "Mana Accelerator" that simply accelerates through time and alternate realities and timelines and more to FIND the "Possibility" or closest likelihood of your wish. because of this it is not directly granting your wish out of thin air it is rather pulling it from alternate timelines and realities or a infinite possibility. like say you wished for your dead lover to return from the dead instead of it directly reviving them it would instead accelerate through possible realities and timelines to find a point in which this is possible where they are either NOT dead or survived or already somehow brought to life or etc. it's simply seeking a POSSIBLE solution to the wish. however because of this the wishes are inaccurate sometimes and can result in dangerous outcomes especially if the wish is unspecific. anyways this is just what I would compare the wish granter too in some ways who knows how the wish granter actually fully functions. if it's the same or if it's just immediately a cruel and elaborate joke of the ZONE and Anomalies

Thanks for the video! My computer can't run stalker 2 so I played this. I think the consciousness wanting him to join was purely for their own self preservation, and the bit about them keeping the zone small was bullshit. I suppose the fact there's later games could imply I'm wrong. The wish granter seems like a way to kill those who are capable of getting close, and it brainwashes people into thinking the zone could be a good thing for them.
If the wishgranter is granting every whish but in a way that you dont expect it to, then infinite wishes will probably be one of the cruelest of the twisted wishes.
I really liked this video, it's extremely well made, i was genuinely confused at the endings when i saw them after i beat the game and your video helpd alot with me understanding the lore of the game and also knowing how to get each ending was extremely useful, thank for making this video, i agreed with most of your theorys they were extremely good!
Thank you for this video!! I really loved the game but I was so dissapointed by the ending (I got the wealth ending). I am now surprised to see that there are multiple endings and I feel bad for the people who played this game with a fake ending and never knew about the real endings. I think it would have been a better design decision if the developers made the true endings more likely to happen as I think that they're very easy to miss. Especially because only the true endings explain everything else that happened in the story. I don't think the story is nearly as good as a whole if you get a fake ending. I even found the door that lead to the good ending and just wondered why I couldn't go in.
I'm a bit salty because I didn't even notice the guide quest and got the money ending :( I really can't be bothered to go back to an earlier save so I had to watch these vids. I was in the same boat as you literally an hour ago. I got the no zone ending and was disappointed by how anti climatic it was. Searched the endings and found out you can glitch the door and open it without the decoder. So I did that and got the true ending. It felt cheap to do tho so maybe after a while ill go back and do it legit
At the time, most of the players seen 'wealth' ending because the bar 50kR was actually low for a proper endgame. Edit: it is still puzziling me to this day, who were strelok looking when he turned back for a moment on destroy cc ending ?

Yea, there is no guarantee to what the hologram sientist says is actually true, he (in my opinion) is most likely smootly and cunningly manipulating Strelok to join the C-Counsiusness program by letting slip from his lips that the ""zone is expanding"" and ""we can stop it"". There is no proof of this, and he's in my opinion most likely lying. Why? to replace some rotting corpse in the tubes. Halfthruths. And remember what the Ghost said about lake Yantar scientists? "...not to trust those LYING dogs"! I think they are driven by the same motivation as the C-Counsiusness scientists but were not part of the original sientists when the experiment was made and now they try to get there and get their share of the cake of the C-Counsiusness. The C-Counsiusness scientists are evil. Strelok did the right thing when he killed them. I completed STALKER first time today and i picked the same ending :).
(Sorry for the late answer) very interesting speculation and viewpoint. If I have to make the video again, when Stalker 2 comes out and we get more information, I'll definitely keep that mind ;)
Isn't he in the void because the humanity is destroyed and this causes a paradox where world ended before zone happened so zone and him dont exist (but he's actually just brain washed again because wish granter does wish granter things)
I got the control humanity on the first run because after i found Ghost and went to the Guide he got attacked by 5-6 dogs and killed when i was about to reach him and since this was my first time with Stalker i thought that it was intended 😂. Man i love the this series but Clear Sky was more of a miss than hit for me.
It still has the most amount of actual Stalker lore on one side and it helps and (if im right with my speculations) I already proven some of it wrong in this video. It still helped alot to create this vid.
i think the reson the wish granter always kills or disables strelok is becouse it wants him to be a non issue becouse he is either dead or disabled in all the bad enddings
I believe in the "No zone" ending, the wish granter does fully end the zone, but the zone is all that Strelok really has. It's the only thing that keeps him fighting. And with the end of the zone, comes the end of Strelok. There is now nothing for him, hinting why he no longer sees anything.
Yup, they dont have 50k so they dont get the wealth ending. And since they dont do much in the game in terms of quest, the reputation stays rather neutral and the faction leaders dont have to be killed... so all requirements for the immortality ending.

Strelok is stupid, Should’ve asked for infinite wishes

I had a doubt, do you have to give in the documents you get from lab x16 after seeing the doctor, or do you have to go directly to prypiat?
You have to give the documents to the barkeeper in the 100rad and see the doctor BEFORE going to pripyat. (sorry for late answer)

wait but doesnt a speed run in under 9 minutes get a immortality ending even though im 99% sure they didnt have over 50k money?
Yup, they dont have 50k so they dont get the wealth ending. And since they dont do much in the game in terms of quest, the reputation stays rather neutral and the faction leaders dont have to be killed... so all requirements for the immortality ending.
