These things always seem so straightforward and then there ends up being some stubborn piece that just doesn't want to budge. But I've changed the pads already on this vehicle once, so it should be easier to remove. Just have to get the new rotors on as well, so hopefully those come off easily.

What year was the MKX? Front pad & rotor replacement.

Yes! A caliper piston that doesn't compress easily for example! Then it needs a new caliper!
Do you turn the car on to pump the brakes or while off , or just using the battery???
Don't forget to check the brake fluid, you will probably need to add some.
