My husband never did, he just wore khakis and a nice polo shirt and has been working as one for 30 years, he of course switched a few times so did the interviews a few times over that time. The only time I would think you need a suit is if your interviewing for admin or some executive type positions . If the job requires a suit then wear one otherwise, casual dress.

I disagree - Overdressing for an interview can make you look foolish. Does someone wear a suit in an interview for a position as a mechanic?
