  • RECIPE: anitacooks.com... Hi Guys, today I’ll show you How to Make Juicy and Crispy Chicken Drumsticks in the oven. It’s the closest thing to deep fried chicken without the mess and extra oil of frying. To make the chicken taste really good, I’ll be using a lot of seasoning. Here’s my blend, salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, dried oregano, sweet paprika and red chili powder for heat. Mix that up. Crack a large egg into a wide plate or bowl so it’s easy to dip the chicken. Add a little water and mix it up. To another wide plate or bowl, add breadcrumbs, these are plain. I’ll add some salt and ground black pepper. Mix that together. You can also use seasoned breadcrumbs. Here is my bowl of chicken legs. They’re washed. Pat them dry with paper towels. Put the seasoning all over the chicken. If you want, you can save a little bit of the seasoning and mix it into the plain breadcrumbs. Coat each leg with the seasoning. Set the chicken aside and heat up your oven to 375 degrees F or 190 degrees Celsius. To bake the chicken, use a sheet pan. Grease the pan with vegetable oil. Take each piece of chicken and dip in the egg. Let the excess drip off and coat in the breadcrumbs. Make sure to really press the crumbs on so it’s completely covered. Place the chicken on the sheet pan with space between each piece. Bake in the heated oven for 30 minutes. Now you see the top is light in color. If you want the chicken to be golden brown, spray with oil or drizzle oil all over the chicken before turning over. Turn them over and cook for another 30 minutes. I did drizzle the chicken with oil and that’s why it’s golden brown on both sides. Even if you don’t drizzle oil, the chicken will be crispy, it just won’t look like deep fried chicken, color wise. Since the chicken was cooked for an hour, it’ll come off the pan easily. That’s me crunching away at the chicken. I can’t even tell you how juicy the chicken is. I didn’t have a plate under it and the juices literally dripped onto my floor. Oven fried chicken doesn’t get easier than this recipe and I hope you try it. Ms. Anita, great recipe, I would make this with chix leg quarters with the thigh/leg attached, that is my fave cut, in rural Kentucky we call chix, yard birds, lol. I like your seasoning & I would probably add about 1 tbls of poultry seasoning to the dry mix also. I sometimes use panko in place of bread crumbs, but it is all delicious. God bless you & yours ma'am

    How does panko bread crumbs work with that?

    • @AnitaCooks
      @AnitaCooks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can definitely use panko, just spritz with oil after coating, so they brown in the oven 😁
