At 2:10 there is a factual error, in between the time I started working on the script for this video Ford announced a version of the Mach-E with slightly longer range than the longest range Model-Y. However I still would have given the point for “EV-ness” to the Tesla for its expansive Supercharger network.
I’m in this very pickle trying to decide. I honestly don’t want a Tesla, EVERYONE has one…I’m in so-cal and they’re everywhere, a driving appliance. I don’t like being at a stoplight and seeing a half dozen cars just like mine (it’s bad enough with my current ride, a Macan S). I’m leasing, I’ll buy electric after that….so it’s not permanent. Money wise a 23 machE premium is quite a bit cheaper to lease. I also can’t imagine not having CarPlay and the machE wins in looks hands down. 99% of my charging will be at home….plus you can now use the Tesla network to charge at….it’s becoming easier as I write this…
The small narrow wheels on the mach e alone should make it loose it’s 1 point in the looks department. The tesla model y has a nice set of shoes on it with some good wide rubber.
Buy the Mustang: If you dislike buying the most American-built car, Mach-E is assembled at Cuautitlán Assembly in Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico. If you don't want the highest performance and efficiency If you are happy with a car that fails the "Moose Test" If you don't want your family in the safest car in the world If you don't want a car built in an Elon Musk factory if you don't want a vehicle capable of autonomous driving on city streets.
Features interiorly go to tesla by a mile. No side view mirror blind spot LOL. The whole screen is one big blind spot monitoring. And with tesla i dont need to dig through menus. I just click the button on the steering wheel and tell it to do whatever and it does in a split second. OTA updates are more frequent and due to sales tesla wont just abandon this project in 5 years. I will agree the mach e wins in ride. However the 2024 Y with the 19 inch wheels is a big upgrade and interior got better too. Overall model Y takes it in my opinion. Better tech that can be upgraded as well. All the nice accessories you can modify and add to the tesla.
@justsomeguy697 correct. But said in the video that navigating the menus in the tesla was a negative when its clearly not, just like the side view mirror blind spot monitoring. The tesla literally pops up with a camera showing the blind spot and beeps at you. Like everyone who is all ford gung ho. The tesla hate and bias toward ford is real. And yet ford is made in mexico and sold 40k mach es, while tesla sold 1.2 million last year. I know people are anxious for tesla to crash and burn, but just give a good review of both. Not some trah sbout side view blind spot monitoring being a problem LOL tesla had poor quality control, that was a real thing. The ride isnt as good but dont hit me with petty stuff.
@Rascal455 I sell ford's for a living so I'm definitely biased. However, I am a big supporter of Elon Musk. The tesla vehicles are cool and should not be crapped on. Yes, they do make most components for them in Shanghai China like a lot do, but at least they are assembled here in the US. Ford makes most of their vehicles in the US. But the mach e is assembled in Mexico. Ford components are made about 40 to 50% here in the US. Ford does employ the largest amount of American Workers out of all the manufacturers. 80% of the vehicles Ford makes are here in the US. Also Ford makes alot more vehicles than tesla by large margin. Americans should support American car brands. Ford is definitely the most iconic car brand for Americans. They even helped win the world wars by producing bombers and tanks and airplanes. I could on. But tesla is a great company overall. Hopefully they both do well in the future.
@justsomeguy697 i appreciate your respectful response. Tho i think your info is a bit off. Tesla model y was just ranked again the most american made car this year and telsa held the top four slots up until just this year. So their parts are not all made in china. It literally one of the most american companies in the US. They have factories other places because they sell cars in those places. Thats why they qualify for the 7500 and ford does not. I like the mach E and i think up until the recent changes on the model wmY with the suspension tweaks and the better quality control mache would have run away with it. For now tesla is still ahead of the game and elon gave away the IP for free. Hoping that some of the tech they come up with spread and makes other companies inovate. My family is from detroit and i have a few that work for ford and GM. They need to make EVs more affordable in general
@Rascal455 so yes, the model y was the most sold car worldwide in 2023. The f150, like usual for the past 50 years, was the most purchased vehicle in the United States. Ford does employ the most workers here in the US out of all the manufacturers. What facts are you saying I'm off on? I'll be the first to correct myself if I'm wrong on something.
The other bonus is I can order a Tesla on my phone - otherwise like you said have to put in the “hard work” to deal with annoying sales people and dealership tactics to get a good deal. We were looking at a Toyota Prius as well dealership have “non negotiable” $3000 add on package in addition to MSRP plus 8%+ interest I really don’t want to deal with Ford sales people
Classic example of padding the stats so that the wrong vehicle gets chosen. The points given to the Mach-E were for style and looks and let's say "ergonomics." What matters most to EV users is "performance, ease of charging, and comfort (ie: roominess). Model Y wins hands-down in these most important areas. It is easy to "say" you'd prefer the Mach-E over the Tesla, but I bet this guy didn't buy a Mach-E.
and therefore you would miss out on great deals to be had in purchasing or leasing one of these vehicles. Personally I have NO intention on buying ANYONE'S EV period. Besides the fact that their depreciation value is greater than a regular vehicle, I know that some of the tech fitted on these vehicles today, would be outdated and nullified the very next year. But I've been bouncing between the Model Y and the Mach E GT (2024). He didn't do software or screen and Tesla would definitely win there. The reason why I might go for the Mach E, as he mentioned, if you put some work in it there are some super crazy deals to be had that would NEVER be advised and I'm going to explore that up close and personal in another month or 2
@@Deetroiter that has noting to do with my question, but please feel free to buy anything you wish as I will do the same. The Mach e actually is assembled with more American content than the Tesla
I'll take a 2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid for now. Perhaps when there is sufficient charging station infrastructure I'll switch to an EV, and who knows which make and model will be best or that I'll like more then.
Anyone who's given a choice between these two cars and choses the Ford. They deserve all the problems that they're going to get with it. This is absolutely a no brainer! Only people who are stuck in the 80's and always wanted a Mustang but never could would want this. This E.V. stuff is kind of a new technology, why wouldn't you pick the company who has the most knowledge of how to build one.
Since I wrote the script for and recorded this video I have heard the same thing, but then Elon Musk ford the whole entire executive team at Tesla that was in charge of the Supercharger network and cancelled some expansion plans for that network. So I guess all that should probably be taken with a grain of salt until it materializes
I prefer the Mach-E slightly over the Model Y. For me, the main problem with the Model Y is the ride quality. But the Mach-E isn't stellar in that area either, just less punishing than the Model Y.
i haven't seen ford yet but interior of model Y feels like it came from dollar store.. $50k car's interior is most likely the worst interior design. Simplicity becomes a simply garbage for the interior of model Y.
I've been burned by FORD quality over the past 3 decades and so I'd have to write off the Ford because of this..I swore to never give them another chance.

Can't Ford use Tesla's charging network?
@@MrCheeto01 Supposedly that will materialize in the future, but it is not here yet.
@@CarDietrich Is this a 'fake channel' as I checked and Mach'e can use Tesla's charging infrastructure
@@MrCheeto01 yes, this is a fake channel, you got me.

Nothing to argue. All facts. I picked Mach e for those reasons
Buy the Mach-E if you like it but NO WAY is it a better car than the Model Y.
Can someone tell me which used model year for both cars I should consider? I'm new to EV research so not even sure yet how to ask the right questions.
Mach E has access to the Super charger network now too and expanding to more next year. I am leaning to the mach for sure
Do u work for a ford dealership? I want out of my lease I can trade in to u guys
I do not work for a Ford Dealership
With the current depreciation on both models... neither...
Buy em used and benefit from the depreciation

Model Y sales # speaks for itself.

but all Tesla's look alike, even a new one looks like an old one
Until you get the bill to replace them
Grandpa used to say: If it's got tits or tires it's gonna cost you and your gonna have trouble
Tesla obviously prefers form over function, no turn signal stalk, no important info in front of you. I get a car for it's function, I buy art for form
The model Y still has turn stalks for now, probably will go away with the upcoming refresh.
Model Y is much better from someone who has owned both
and it ain't close
What do you like better about it? I have a Mach E that I've come to the end of my time with and I'm considering the Y.
