But I’m having an extremely hard time finding information on what to actually do to the d17 motor to increase its performance. I don’t wanna go kswap, I wanna build it but I just don’t know what to do lol the goal is to go turbo but all I find are cheap ebay ones that everyone says will shit the bed on me😂
Arp headstuds, d16y8 intake manifold, turbo kit, hondata. You can run it on the stock manifold but I wouldnt push more than 10psi for fear of cracking the plastic. Also if it overheats your engine isnt gonna take kindly to having melted plastic inside of it.

Hey like the set up I was wondering where you got that intake from cause I need one for my Honda Civic ex with the D-17 engine that I'm building up I was thinking of going with the turbo on mine to see how much horsepower I can get out of the engine looking at your videos tells a lot. And did you rebuild your engine and what ECM you go with for your set up I like to get some help in make it a better car and a little fast and by the way I'm John and I like the work you doing to it 👍👍👍👍 and if I'm not mistaken mine is a EM2 as well so let me know some info on site I need to get my parts thanks
I got a an em2 as well! I have some dc sport headers and dc sport intake with a dc sports muffler, and NGK spark plugs. There’s not that many brand name company’s that sell d17 parts no more so for that part a lot of the car parts r gonna be aftermarket or universal. Remember it’s a d17 it’s not that capable of running over 250-300hp max with a turbo. It’s either your gonna blow the engine or throw a piston and ontop of that out valve gaskets need to be replaced more often then most cars. I’ve wanted to boost my d17 but I know u can get some power if you know what your doing with a Honda engine. My next plan is to swap my Throttle body and swap my intake to the d16 y8 intake. But in order to do that u need to mess with the fitment and wiring. With a k20 TB and the y8 intake. You’ll definitely keep up with an SI IR RSX TYPE S
I’d say close to ten thousand back in 2007 when this engine was built including the kpro and new things I added when I got it. It’s been good so far only time will tell I guess

My d17 made 388 on 20 psi and 405 at 25 psi letting out at 6k rpm’s
