Looks like I got a little project for the weekend! My 2005 trips the brake light and then throws VSC and TRAC OFF right after. I think it's all part of the same issue, the brakes work fine so I'll try the cleaning and see if it still throws the light. Thanks for this!
@bryanrutter4455 and @natem3977 are correct. That is simply the electrical plug for the sensor. The level sensor is inside the reservoir. No fluid will come out if you unplug it. Hopefully people can see this ignore the fuild removal part and just unplug that connector, clean up the contacts and that fixes their problem… but a bad electrical connection at the fuild level sensor is just one of possibilities in the brake warning light (brake level/park brake on) circuit.
Excellent video! I have had that brake light problem with a Toyota pickup and a Camry. Always wondered what caused it. Thanks for showing how to fix it!
While I appreciate the video for calling attention to the possible solution, I do agree that draining the brake fluid is not necessary. I just cleaned mine with no fluid leak. 🎉
@@natem3977 I would love to know how you managed that... since the sensor is below fluid level (how it is able to interact with and measure the level) with the sensor removed there is a gaping hole there that the fluid comes pouring out of on mine. Unless all you are doing is unplugging the electrical connector, and not removing the sensor to clean it. I'm not talking about just cleaning the electrical contacts while leaving the sensor in place, but cleaning corrosion off the sensor probes themselves.
Brake fault light. It doubles as the e-brake light, but it comes on when there's an issue with the brake system. Separate from the ABS light, though that can get triggered too, with both of them coming on with some problems.
Just found your channel accidently, been following you on ig and vortex forever love the repairs and maintenance...I wonder did you have to replace your heater core on your corrado would love to see a video if you did or have to
I did do the heater core a few years ago, when I replaced the evaporator core and rebuilt the HVAC control box. I didn't do a video of it, but if I recall, I did post a lot of pictures in my vwvortex build thread.
Did you just cleaned the Electric connection or something else inside the reservoir. My sequoia sometimes when I brake it shakes a little and 3 lights turn on.. brake, track control and abs lights. Do you know if what you did will fix it?
If there's a shaking that happens when you brake sometimes, it's more likely that at least one of your brake rotors is warped, and it's possible that the shaking is affecting the ABS sensor for that wheel. Best to get it scanned and see what codes pop up in the memory - an ABS issue will be saved if that's what it is. Yes, I just cleaned the electronic sensor and its connectors attached to the reservoir, in my case.

You do not need to drain the master cylinder to clean the electrical contacts in the brake level switch
sure, if you don't mind corrosive brake fluid pouring all over your engine bay... Which I kinda do.

Were you able to pull the sensor out? It only showed you were working on the connections.
This was exactly what I needed. Great video and solution to my problem.
Glad to help!
What light in coming on? The E-brake light or the ABS light?

@@CliffjumperCars awesome! Thanks
would have been nice if the blue shop rag wasnt in the way to be able to see what you were doing.
Sorry about that, realized all that stuff was in the way after I finished.
Didn't do anything except clean the plug didn't show any sensor

Clean your wheel speed
Sensors. Trust me it works. I had the same issue. Worked like a charm.
Excellent ,it works, thanks

What's up with the bad stock music?
Haven't had time to create new music lately so I rely on royalty free stock music for most of my background tunes.
Shop vac much quicker and cleaner
Please take out the music .. i can barely hear you and its dreadful. Ty
