When Scanlan left Vox Machina (in episode 1x85), he lashed out at them and said many things, one of which was that they didn't care about him and what he wanted, and then asked if anyone even knew his Mom's name (his Mom's death was an important part of his backstory). He proceeds to name all the others' parents names, to sort of show that he cares about them but it isn't reciprocated.

Honestly expecting her to take him to Cad to explain things. If he's chaotic neutral, he'll be chaotic good by the time Jester's done with him.
This isn't a new concept about clerics influence their god. Faith gives gods powers even change gods based on majority belief. Artagan is a noob godling, obviously Jester has a huge say in what this belief will be. She and her friend seem to be pretty compatible anyway, it is hard to tell which influences the other more, it is more like a synergy.

As someone who never saw campaign 1 (I barely have time to watch campaign 2 every week, and there is over 20 days worth of video for campaign 1, I did he math) but read a quick summery of important events that happened during it, even I thought he was Artagan

They didn't switch classes, Travis never wanted to be a Cleric. Also her patron was going to be Artagan and Laura a Warlock. Not her being a archfey herself

I stopped watching c2 at about e110, went off and watched the whole of c1 because I wanted to understand the callbacks. At first I wasn't sure. But quickly i preferred it to c2. I miss grog and scanlan ☹

The blind faith and mischief of a child made a god. I mean Jester kept telling us that when she was a child he look like a child and grew as she did.

Garmelie hated the theater and vax kept begging to go. At one point garmelie/Artagan screamed "no theater!"
Later on a few of the party members during the year off went to the theater to figure out what it was. And thankfully lived.

I just watched that episode on Saturday, it was so intense. For a second I thought it was actually Sam yelling at everyone and not Scanlan!
When i watched the episode I thought it was just funny that Sam clearly hadn't come up with names for Veth's parents. Didn't even catch the callback to C1 until just now. Makes it 10 times better.

In the first campaign Scanlan (Sam's campaign 1 character) left the group after having a tense discussion with them. At one point, Scanlan mentions his mother, the death of which had a major effect on Scanlan when he was younger. He asks the party if any of them even know what his mother's name is, to demonstrate that he feels the others don't care about him as much.
Jester's next feat will be Magic Initiate: Warlock. Either that or she'll straight up take a Feylock level
Not necessarily. Nothing about her has changed. She still worships a God, he is just a bab.
Fjord cast of his shackles of ukoto'a and swore to become a paladin of the wildmother. Something that was both plot wise and gameplay sound.
@@heykak But he is also getting his "old" Warlock powers from the Wildmother. Chris Budden I would like it if she did become a duel class warlock, since Cad is a cleric also, he can handle the healing very well on his own; with a little help from Jester. She would be very powerful then too.
She'll need to level up her Charisma first tho if she wants to (to the minimum of 13 to multiclass into warlock) but still I don't think she will.
Both story wise and meta wise there's no reason for her to do so as:
-The Traveller has become pretty much a god at this point so he can make Jester a cleric and not a warlock
-Laura and Travis talked about this in Talks Machina on how Jester was supposed to be a feylock in the beginning but Laura lent the warlock spot to Travis

Beau really wasnt dancing around her answer in the zone of truth when Jester asked if anyone had a crush on her, seriously everyone does. The only confirmations left are Cad and Yasha :P
@@robinmatz6686 I like that technically since Beau made her save she didn't have to tell the truth, but she obviously did anyway. Everyone was expecting her to lie about everything just because she could and that gave her the opportunity to tell the truth, but play it off as a lie or joke to Jester.

I love this group of nerdy-ass voice actors, so much...this is like watching a group of kids grow up, that none of them ever truly stopped being kids. Except Matt has to be the one that herds rowdy children, instead of each individual parent, lol.
Edit: I just realized: There is the saying, "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled, was convincing the world he doesn't exist." Jester is the opposite of that, her greatest trick was trying to convince the world that the Traveller existed, but nobody would believe her. That is the true iteration of the Trickery Domain, IMO.

Widojest and Fjorclay continue to rise, much like Artagan rose to Godhood. Honestly the big reveal was so satisfying and validating like WE BEEN KNEW but yes good thank you Matt for making it even better than I had hoped.
Side note, but the one downside to this video is how we miss the rest of the table losing their shit over the reveal.

I'd assume that everything in the guidebook and handbook is just as a guide, and it's up to the dm and the players to work with another to have a great rpg fun. At least, that's my opinion...
@@alvintollah Exactly. The very core of D&D is that at the end of the day, none of the rules actually matter. It's up to your DM to shape the world and the game as they see fit, and if it means tossing out what the book says and making your own things up, that is 100% valid. So long as everyone at the table knows about it, agrees to it, and it is kept consistent, you can play D&D however you want. The handbook and other publications are literally just guides and suggestions.

@@joshuamcclung8362 VM promised they'd make the doorway in exchange for his help, it's generally implied they upheld their end of the bargain after their adventures. Dealing with Vecna took priority at the time, but they promised him they would bring him to the material plane. C2 is 20 years after C1, plenty of time for a retired bunch of adventurers to keep that promise.
