That little A model mandolin has really sweet tone! Great job everybody. I enjoyed the twin fiddles in harmony very much, too! I’m an upright bluegrass bass player.
Cherokee Shuffle - a nice instrumental composition. Older musicians can play just as nicely as the young ones. I don't know why unwritten laws exist up today applied a slogan : " What's old it´s bad."
The truth is that there is no evil that for good does not come, thanks to the confinement by the CnaVirus, I am discovering wonderful things, greetings from Madrid Spain.
Very nice rendition indeed! Best I've heard in a while...and, is that Sally Van Meter on the dobro? Long time since I've seen you play, Sally....you are the best! Keep it up!
@@Firstinversion899 Joe K Walsh on the 2nd mandolin break for sure. The first was Herschel Sizemore. Another important figure in the history of this music.
Remember when Byron used play a measure of Sally Goodin in F Sharp? Song was in A Major. He's great but he ain't K Baker! Honorable mention Bobby Hicks and Patrick McAvinee (Sic?)
I really enjoy listening to this jam!.... great slide guitar and fiddles!....but I would love to know the bass players' name..... because it's, well,I think its fuckn awesome when the bass is also the percussion section lol... brilliant
The late Byron Berline, fiddle; Darol Anger, fiddle; Joe Walsh & Herschel Sizemore, mandolins; Ned Luberecki, banjo; Sally Van Meter, dobro; Tyler Grant, guitar; Sharon Gilchrist, bass.
They really are fabulous musicians, and I especially appreciate Luberecki's tasteful banjo-playing. There's another video of this same lineup doing a medley of Big Sandy and Uncle Pen---well worth checking out.
Excellent from everyone all around. I'm particularly impressed by Sharon Gilchrist on Bass, she drives this band without overplaying.
Tyler Grant (guitar) does a great bit of picking, and offers instruction on TH-cam!
Sally Van Meter is a Dobro hero of mine from Wayyy back .. always right on it .. always tasteful. Outstanding jam.
Fantastic jam. All great musicians. Thank you so much.
fiddling with my youthful fiddling hero! doesn't get any better! I was a little nervous though.
when you guys are trading licks it's the best!
great playing
Your "youthful fiddling hero" sounds good, but everybody else is impressed with you too, Darol (trust me).
Byron is everyone's hero!
I get chills when the fiddles start playing

The split fiddle break was great, I would love to see more of this in bluegrass tunes.
Way to go Ned! You got all your hotlicks in on your first break.

Terrific version. Great inspiration for me and my old banjo!
Great video and great concert. Thanks to Augusta staff for posting this music and to the wonderful musicians playing this fiddle tune.
Excellent musicianship. A joy to listen to..!! ;-))
That dobro player kicked butt!
That would be the one and only Sally Van Meter, dobro player extraordinaire.
What a place to go to school!!!!!

Byron Berline, fiddler on the left!
Yes, it is the wonderful Sally VM on dobro. She's one of the few up there with Jerry Douglas, et al..
If you don't like that there is something seriously wrong with you.
I like it very much but I miss voices songs and words.
very good music
This music just speaks to me. Gotta be those Kentucky hills roots.
God loves you. He has not forsaken you, nor has he forgotten you
Well the playing is superb of course - but my fav part is while the fiddles are trading - Byron's body roll @ 3:42 - awesome!
Now, THAT was THOUroughly enJOYable!
💙💙💙💙
Good old Ned!
I want to see more of the bass player.
Me too. Any time there's a young female, bouncing around, playing base, I'm in love.
@@roadie3124 That's Sharon Gilchrist playing bass. Her main axe is mandolin, and she teaches online, too. A very generous musician and person.
Many likes!
Yea ! Sally Van Meter (I like !!!)
This is the Staff??? WoW, nice playing.
Boys and Girls, someone please show me the Double-Like Button!

Laurel Paulson-Pierce Sharon Gilchrist on bass. Joe K Walsh on mando?
Also the great Herschel Sizemore on mandolin who takes the break at the 5.00 mark. He's the composer of "Rebecca"....a popular bluegrass jam tune.

William Dean
