A 2 at best. The whole movie is a Pity Party. White Coal Miners in Virginia have it harder than these Compton or Pasadena, or Chremshaw Dwellers. They think they have it rough? How about our soldiers or Sailors who got shot up protecting america? The characters these actors portrayed made excuses for their failures
Ricky was buried the next day ... Ricky was only killed the day before, than that night they killed the bloods, than the day after Ricky was buried. ( It all happened in 2-3 days )
This part hits different….first off, with the time gap we don’t know how many a* whoopings doughboy took AND gave out to protect Ricky because he knew he was meant for better…..Dough got left in the dust by his mom just because of his dad and Ricky being headed somewhere….im trey in this situation….i know what’s going on in life and have seen a lot and i can hang with the pushers and whatnot because we grew up together and I always respected them and treated them like they were somebody but i had that dad that kept me on track and that mom that knew the streets but kept me out of em….

Doughboy was an adult. I think he had every opportunity that his brother had minus a mother who didn’t love him. Tre’s Dad was sort of a father to him. It’s the choices he made. Sad!
They should make a movie about gangsters that go to jail and then have to wash the under ware of tougher prison inmates. They should also include in the movie the oath these gangsters make to protect their fellow homies but how quickly they are forgotton and never visited in jail by their fellow set members who survive and somehow make it out of that life! Perhaps they could also include in the movie a scene or two of them getting released from Prison say in their early to late 30's and having a financial net worth or say....$400-$500 dollars. Or if they did a serious stretch of time...getting out in their mid to late 40's with the same dollar amount.
Yes but there mom loved Ricky while she was a bitch to Doughboy. She encouraged Ricky while she belittled Doughboy. Maybe that's why the son who got all the love and attention turned out so well while the son who was treated like shit was running the streets.
