This is probably the best base build video I've ever seen for the Red Rocket site. I wish that we had been able to get rid of the gas/energy nozzles without having to resort to mods, or be able to get rid of the piles of detritus on the ground. I mean, we can pour perfect concrete, lay foundations, put together walls, etc....but we can't use a shovel and like ten minutes to get rid of those piles of trash? We can deconstruct an entire house in Sanctuary down to the bare slab, but somehow can't remove two gas/energy things hanging from the ceiling at RR? Really? Makes about as much sense as say, finding a caps stash in an area that's allegedly been sealed since the bombs fell. I'm looking at you, secret lab under the Nuka Cola Bottling Plant.
I have my settlement at RR too. Build on top with concrete and an elevator to reach it. And a wall around the whole RR with a door that opens only if you shoot once at a target on top of the building and more cool stuff. I tried a lot more settlements but still like RR the most.
Watching this with my husband and realizing this might be the first build video i ever watched. I remembered it but I didn’t remember it being Cordless VII. ETA: meant to say my husband remembered watching it with me. He does not play but he likes the environment and he humors me with the building part.
You're one of the better Fallout 4/TH-camrs, this is the first time I have watched you and some things you did I wanted to yell at you, like when you would place 4 columns instead of a half wall, but for the most part your great
I'm in 2019 right now, almost 2020 #KayneForPresident but I'm wondering how you only HAVE 76K SUBS. You have so many amazing videos and deserve way more subs, have an amazing life, and continue the good work!
My strategy to getting flooring to snap into places it doesn't want to is to use its "suggested' placement. What I mean is, you know when you're snapping floor pieces together and it will suddenly place a floor piece to the left or right of the one you just placed. That's what I called its 'suggested' placing. So I get the floor piece and look just off to the side of the gap I want to fill and then rotate the piece while walking slowly around the gap. I never try to place the floor directly into the gap though. I wait for the game to snap it in for me. It works most of the time.
There is a robototic power armour you can get in the creation club (Might be in the normal mod list too) and there's a quest as well. Once the quest is complete, you get your own power armour robot buddy who you can command and have with you as well as a companion! Might be good if you get it and have the robot chill at this settlement like the robot iron man suit.
Th Fallout 4 intro speech, War. War never changes. In the year 1945, my great-great grandfather, serving in the army, wondered when he'd get to go home to his wife and the son he'd never seen. He got his wish when the US ended World War II by dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The World awaited Armageddon; instead, something miraculous happened. We began to use atomic energy not as a weapon, but as a nearly limitless source of power. People enjoyed luxuries once thought the realm of science fiction. Domestic robots, fusion-powered cars, portable computers. But then, in the 21st century, people awoke from the American dream. Years of consumption lead to shortages of every major resource. The entire world unraveled. Peace became a distant memory. It is now the year 2077. We stand on the brink of total war, and I am afraid. For myself, for my wife, for my infant son - because if my time in the army taught me one thing: it's that war, war never changes.
Another great build man, big thumbs up... I've already learned at least one significant tip/trick in both of the first 2 vids of yours that I've watched... I mentioned it last time, but even more so on this vid you and your style remind me so much of Norepawns, minus the British accent.
I just saw the tour... This has got to be THE most inspiring red rocket build so far. Pardon but i'm going to steal this idea from you and somewhat copy your build! Thumbs up!
Great vid bud! some helpful tips on adding doors to frames was pretty neat! So I know this vid was done months ago and not sure if the mod im going to mention was available back then but i came across a mod from another youtuber that let you scrap everything which i found a big help in putting down flooring inside and outside and not have to worry about having gaps around objects you cant build around. Again great vid and your ideas are refreshing. Still loving these vids! Cheers! 👍😎
The floor placing can be tricky, a couple of things that helped me: 1. You aren’t going to be able to clip through a solid object with your initial panel, you need to place a viable panel first then bridge to where you want to go. 2. I can’t verify this, but when cordless was talking about having to struggle a bit with certain sections to get them to snap, I found myself having difficulty on the same sections. What I found works for me, and this could be total coincidence or whatever, is that the less of the offending object I’m trying to clip through is in my actual frame, as in view from first person, the easier the object snaps. It’s like the game forgets it wants to prevent you from clipping if it can’t actually see what you’re clipping through. I could be crazy but it worked well enough for me to bother writing this comment.
All this time I’ve looked for cool settlement builds and couldn’t find any with my same taste. I just gave up. But then I just saw you in my recommended feed. And I’m so glad I clicked on this video. Loved it.

So, there.
on console I've found if you look straight down at the floor and stand over the spot you want the floor to snap, they will go in. you just have to move around slowly. nice build, duplicating it now.
+CordlessVII They updated the game one Steam! They updated workshop features it kinda got released when the high texture mod got released. BTW good video m8
okay, so how did you get the cement floors in the beginning of the build to be placed on those round things where the gas pumps were? I've tried all floors and none will snap to that area or around the pylons holding up the roof.
Failing that if you don't like mods, the concrete pillar bind/glitch should allow you to place the first one manually and then the rest should snap into place
I have gotten good at settlement building simply from completely finishing trash builds just for my console to take a dump and Todd uses his powers to erase the last 3 saves. Every time I have to start over the new build is 10× better
This build is awesome! I'm doing something similar, except I'm building a watchtower type of thing around the rocket on the roof. Only wish I had DLCs, though. :(

I was able to build the tower and the area off of the garage door without any issues. The flooring that you laid for your Tony Stark lab, didn't quite work out for me the way it did in your video. Wasn't able to snap in anywhere near those metal beams no matter what i tried. In the future, you may want to actually slow the video down and walk viewers through how you're doing it because the high-speed video actually does the opposite of teaching your viewers. Great work though, thanks for taking the time to share your build.

I hated the building part of Fallout 4 until I saw your videos. Now I’m spending hours fooling around with it.
Thanks.

at cordless - your being able to snap real good goes right through the garbage piles. is that a mod? cant be place anywhere though.
make red rocket sky scraper like Halo smyth did. .. have you ever built with the institute parts from home maker?

I know man! I just found a scrap everything mod for xbox. This changes everything

You do not need the rug glitch to put a door in that room inside Red Rocket, a door snaps into that door frame without it.
