Traxxas Hoss Velineon 540XL Upgrade

Traxxas Hoss Velineon 540XL Upgrade!
In this video I replace a Velineon 3500 with a Velineon 540XL. I also had to install 6.5mm connectors.
As far as I can tell the Hoss has gone through a few updates since it's release. The VXL 3500 to 540XL upgrade I believe is one of them.

A hoss definitely doesn't need this much power. cool video though.

I agree. If that truck is run on 3s it'll definitely break. I'd like to get a mini Maxx to see if the durability is better.

the hoss should have had the bigger 2400 kv motor not the 3500 kv

Yea. We got this Hoss used. I was thinking Traxxas made a running change but I haven't been able to verify that. It's more likely that we were sold a truck with an incorrect motor in it.

Looks like it was a stampede converted to a hoss. Either way cool video
