Heroes generally have to be young, and naive enough to not see the problems that gave rise to their enemies in the first place. When they get older, they see the problem, and try to correct it. But in doing so they are often considered tragic villains.
So we would've had a new season where Sentinel fail at becoming a Magnus...damn you Cartoon Network Less Teen Titans go and a new Transformers Animated Season.
Magnus is not a title. Rumor is result of naming mistake, where Sentinel was initially referred in promotion material as Ultra Magnus, until they correct it and they introduced actual Magnus later.
Transformers Exodus (aligned continuity) is my favorite adaptation of sentinel. It portrays him as a washed-up, but humble leader with a heart of gold. Sentinel realizes that he's not cut out for the turbulent times ahead, but does his best, ultimately dying in a vain attempt to thwart Megatron. There's a really nice scene where Sentinel laughs at a struggling comedians jokes in order to help boost the guy's confidence. Sadly, none of this made it to the video game
I'm gonna go with "Animated" Sentinel Prime as my favorite incarnation. Yeah he's a massive jerk, but at least he always gets his comeuppance for his blockhead decisions. Plus, he did have an interesting backstory with Optimus, and his design and voice are too enjoyable to ignore. I will say though, his "Titans Return" toy looks really cool, especially his train and spaceship modes.
I don’t think we really needed to see Sentinel’s downfall in Animated. The subtext of the final few episodes really spelled it all out. He was tricked by Lockdown, beaten effortlessly by Swindle, Optimus disregarded his orders, Ratchet took the Magnus Hammer, his Lieutenant Jazz ditches him, Alpha Trion and Perceptor clearly don’t approve of him, and while he’s oppressing his fellow Autobots on Cybertron, Optimus actually brought down Megatron and his inner circle, brought back Omega Supreme, and returned with the Allspark in tow. Not to mention Ultra Magnus wasn’t actually offline. The writing was on the walls that Sentinel wouldn’t remain in charge for long.
Animated Sentinel's colors are almost like the G1 cartoon version, and I wish there was a toy based on that old cartoon appearance because that alt mode looks so cool.
DOTM Sentinel is not just my favourite version of Sentinel, he's my favourite character in all the movies. I even repainted his titans return toy in his DOTM colourscheme, which works amazingly well with a Scourge head.
I really like DOTM Sentinel but I knew he'd be a villain when they announced Leonard Nimoy (RIP Spock) as his voice actor. He voiced Galvatron in the animated Transformers: The Movie and even DOTM had Wheelie foreshadow his turn, when he said, "This is the one where Spock goes nuts!" Classic! Also, keep Zeta and Sentinel separate characters.
Irony here: Leonard Nemoy played Galvatron in Transformers The Movie then years later plays Sentinel Prime in Transformers DOTM. He played the villain twice in Transformers. Well done.
I prefer the bearded elderly of the movies over the masked bulky warrior of the “generations/titanmaster” Although I hope we see more of this guy later on, as a traitor or hero.
Poor Sentinel. From a tragic historical figure we assumed to be a good guy to becoming yet-another-crooked Prime. It seems modern Transformers writers are truly intent on making Optimus the only bearer of the Prime mantle who isn't a villain.
My favorite sentinel is the 2019 IDW Run of the character. Mainly because while he was prideful, stubborn and militaristic, everything he did, he did for what he considered ever lasting peace for the universe
5:46 Actually, there's a TFNation 2017 comic where Optimus Prime becomes part of the Elite Guard, and Sentinel Prime now became a repair bot with his own crew.
Dreamwave may not have had a particularly long run, and their books met with mixed reviews at the time, but I do feel they did a lot to consolidate the overall continuity of the Transformers (particularly G1) and made a tremendous, lasting impact with their deepening of the lore. They took so many concepts that the G1 cartoon and Marvel comics had only briefly touched upon, and updated and expanded upon them in ways that really stuck to this day. In the long run, their Transformers comics had a positive impact on the franchise overall, and their creative legacy has far outlasted the actual company.
He just went from absolute jerk, to corrupted leader of Cybertron, to wise old mentor that betrays Optimus, to Homelander.
I hope we get to see him drink some of Arcees headlight fluid like Homelander and Firecracker XD.

The DOTM Sentinel is the most fleshed out he's ever been. His fire truck transformation was also bad ass as was his dual-bladed sword.
Heroes generally have to be young, and naive enough to not see the problems that gave rise to their enemies in the first place. When they get older, they see the problem, and try to correct it. But in doing so they are often considered tragic villains.
Now the newest incarnation of Sentinel Prime has TFA's color scheme and personality and Bayverse's backstabing plot
They also look similar too and has the double sided blade
So we would've had a new season where Sentinel fail at becoming a Magnus...damn you Cartoon Network
Less Teen Titans go and a new Transformers Animated Season.
Magnus is not a title. Rumor is result of naming mistake, where Sentinel was initially referred in promotion material as Ultra Magnus, until they correct it and they introduced actual Magnus later.
Who else came here after Transformers One?
Sentinal Prime is like a fine wine.......got better as it aged, then we drank him.
I hated this dude on Animated,
At least he didn't kill Ironhide.
@@Nothin2seehere-e4z I'm still not over that
Transformers Exodus (aligned continuity) is my favorite adaptation of sentinel.
I try to see Sentinel and Zeta as different characters. Sentinel died before the events of War For Cybertron
Of course this gets recommended to me after transformers one came out
Animated Sentinel Prime is my boy!
Boi
Animated had no business being so good.
He’s a douche
I'm gonna go with "Animated" Sentinel Prime as my favorite incarnation. Yeah he's a massive jerk, but at least he always gets his comeuppance for his blockhead decisions. Plus, he did have an interesting backstory with Optimus, and his design and voice are too enjoyable to ignore.
I will say though, his "Titans Return" toy looks really cool, especially his train and spaceship modes.
True, he was a jerk, but he’s a well written jerk with a believable personality, I prefer this sentinel over the bay version any day.
I like animated sentinel cause he is a funny jerk a well written jerk
That toy was just too much orange.
At least it doesnt have him killing ironhide
Too he didn’t have..A Head of a chance.
Would love a MP figure of his G1 form, such a unique design.
I’d love to see the basics on Bulkhead. I think he is fairly popular and is one of my favorites
Yeah! I only know Bulkhead from Animated and Prime, and he was great!
@@thesupershinymegagengar2034 energon: am i a joke to you
@@ferfender007 Me: "Yes. And I've never even heard of you."
Can't wait to see the updated TF One episode.😊
9:25 Why does Starscream's eyes make him look so innocent and youthful? That is perhaps... too cute to be evil
yooo KUMquat
5:19 I laughed so hard when optimus found sentinel's head when I first watched that show oh my childhood
i never see Optimus Prime laugh that loud in any version of transformer ever
Yesss!
Karma for Sentinel. LOL!
Best part is I have season 2 on DVD so I can rematch that any time I want
@@owenobrien1351 Lucky you! I just wish RID 2001 was available on DVD in North America.
After seeing TF One; I come to realization that no matter what universe Sentinel Prime is in, he’s always a traitor and a narcissist 😅
Except for G1
RIP LEANORD NIMOY for being sentinel prime. I'm still mad for sentinel killing iron hide
Sentinel in Transformers Animated was really funny, especially when he got owned by optimus
Sentinel was killed by Megatron in both TF One and G1 “Five Faces of Darkness”. 🤔
Animated Sentinel's colors are almost like the G1 cartoon version, and I wish there was a toy based on that old cartoon appearance because that alt mode looks so cool.
Honestly, say what you want about the bayverse, sentinel prime was a badass villain
time for an update after Transformers one
I love how titans return’s Sentinel is basically Eren Jeager
@@FierceBerillious I’m swell how are you, this comment sure did age well
Okay that laugh from Optimus when he found sentinel’s head is classic.
Homelander Prime
I like his design from dotm
7:48 "All in the next exciting episode of... The Transformers: The Ultimate Doom!"
Love his catchphrase “No, Optimus.!!”, always makes me laugh.
I hope you make a new version of this with Transformers one
TRANSFORMERS: THE BASICS on RODIMUS PRIME
Yes! Please
Yes please!!!! Please make one!!!!
TRANSFORMERS THE BASICS ON VECTOR PRIME VS SUNSTORM
He gets a lot of hate, but I personally enjoyed him (especially his appearance on the PS2 game based on gen 1)
White Darkness it’s sad that he’s so hated, I think he’s a great Prime
This channel speakin' 'bout the live action movies without hate...
So dang refreshin'!!
My grandfather met Leonard Nimoy once. He was one of his biggest fans.
Irony here: Leonard Nemoy played Galvatron in Transformers The Movie then years later plays Sentinel Prime in Transformers DOTM. He played the villain twice in Transformers. Well done.
I prefer the bearded elderly of the movies over the masked bulky warrior of the “generations/titanmaster”
Although I hope we see more of this guy later on, as a traitor or hero.
What about the jerk with the massive chin from Animated?
Poor Sentinel. From a tragic historical figure we assumed to be a good guy to becoming yet-another-crooked Prime. It seems modern Transformers writers are truly intent on making Optimus the only bearer of the Prime mantle who isn't a villain.
My favorite sentinel is the 2019 IDW Run of the character.
Mainly because while he was prideful, stubborn and militaristic, everything he did, he did for what he considered ever lasting peace for the universe
Agreed
TFA one is better for laughs, but yeah I prefer a much more good guy sentinel
Whos here in 2024 from the new movie?
Me. If you guys think Sentinel was evil in the live action, oh boy, I have some news for you
Nice finishing line at the end, very fitting. Also Sentinel Prime from DOTM
Leonard Nimoy Sentinel Prime was amazing! His music, his appearance, his fighting style, epic all around.
