Nice review, Fish. Today I took a ride on my Victory Vision and had a great talk with a fellow I have met a few times before. He owns 3 Harley's, one a Road Glide. I told him it was a motorcycle of interest to me. He advised me against it. Then told me about all of the maintenance issues he has had with it as well some of his other bikes. He is thinking Indian. From what I have seen on this review is that you have a pretty dependable motorcycle and I know you ride the hell out of it. Three friends of mine with Harley's they keep in impeccable condition rode from Sioux Falls to Sturgis. Every one of them ended up having to do work on them, one ended up having to tow his bike home. Over 2000 bucks in repairs. None of my friends riding Victory's, Indian's, or metric's had a problem. Yes, the fit and finish on the Harley Davidson is beautiful, but I will take dependability and good predictable manners over an unattainable expectation of perfection any day. Keep up the great videos and your two wheels down.
Oh the vision!! That was the DNA the Challenger came from!! Even at first the looks of the Challenger had to grow on me buy I wanted the ride ability and then the love just keeps growing!!! It's too bad your friends broke down!! I really do believe that most of the time it's unlucky to break down as I have taken trips with HD and they made it ok!!! Lol. If that guy tests a Challenger he won't go back!!! Lol
I love the Vision. At the end of this summer, I plan on putting a Pursuit next to my Diavel, but after that, I may be looking for a good condition Vision to add to the stable.
@Ridingfish Good video man. Thanks for sharing. Quick question. You seem to ha e a good relationship with Lloyd. Do you have any idea WHEN, TF, they will have a big bore kit ready for the Challenger?
I love my Challenger. I havent been able to ride since my accident back in May. I was on my Victory Cross Country and got hit head on. Hoping to get a ride in before snow if I am lucky. I had my friend take my ECU to Lloydz in Sturgis for the flash. Havent ridden it but my friend did. He came back grinning ear to ear and laid the money down for a Challenger. So I guess the flash is worth it LOL! I had issues with my bike in first 100 miles. It would randomly stall. Then it developed an issue where the cruise control would go out. ABS light would come on and the rear brake pedal became hard as a rock, literally you could not press it down. A bunch of other engine lights and codes would come up. It went in a total of 5 times in the first 1000-1200 miles. The first two times Indian tried to say it was because I was doing burn outs and wheelies. Well I guess Indian didnt realize I am a cheap bastard, burns outs cost money in early tire replacement. As for wheelies, I couldnt do one if I tried. Anyways, the 5th time bike went in the Indian engineers came up with a possible fix. They pulled the whole rear wheel assemble off and replaced with a new one from donor bike. Turns out the tone ring was defective. Bike has about 5k now and not a single issue since. Just putting that issue out there in case anyone else has similar failure. The rear tone ring caused the ABS and traction control failures that then cause system issues. But all that was taken care of under warranty and cost me nothing. Dealer even gave me loaner bike to use while it was in. Now I am just biding my time until I can get back out there and ride. Your videos helped me pass the time during this recovery process. Happy to be in the survivors club. Stay safe and keep the shiny side up brother.
Man!!!!! Head on!!!!! Thankfull you are in the survivor club for sure!! So the issues this is the first I have heard of that myself!! But great they got it together!! One thing we don't hear often is that "Indian doesn't stand by their motorcycles" because they do!!!!! 3500-4000 miles of no issues feels great after 5 Times in 1000-1500 I'm sure!!.. fingers crossed you get to ride.. fast recovery!!! Thank you for watching!!
Man, what a Great review, honest and thorough. I have followed you from the start when you got the Challenger and have enjoyed all your adventures. I am looking at getting a Challenger and this video was a great help, especially with the accessories with what is worth the money or not. I appreciate your videos and work, keep it up and Ride Safe. Thanks.
Thank you kent!! I appreciate the kind words!! I have more plans to keep the fun times up!! But I don't know how many "reviews " are left of the Challenger.. I have a little thing planned and some product stuff also!! Fun times!!
Great and honest review Fish. I love my challenger as well. Agree with you on both sets of lids. My bag lids are loose like yours but they were tight when new, so something moved. My front console doors have never popped open, and I'm on Louisiana crap roads. You are also spot on about the Freedom shield. I'm 6'1 and the 9" shield is perfect. John was great to deal with and answered all of my pre-purchase questions on a Saturday night. He is also highly supportive of our military and first responders. Oh and I'm scheduled for my Lloydz in Panama City Beach on the 23rd. Also bringing my FTR ECU along with me. Time for some Sauce!!! Hope to meet you somewhere along the road man!
Keep an eye out... Im EASY and get around!! Hahahahaha. Yes I have an appointment to look at all the things with my bike.. oil is almost due!! Haha FTR and CHALLENGER.. good taste!! That sauce!!! Let me know that I'm right (or wrong) when you get all done!!
Awesome review man. I agree on everything you said. I also love my Challenger limited. Best motorcycle I ever had. Just some small fit and finish things that could be improved. I'm looking forward to that Lloydz CRT-v1 flash. Probably let them do that the next time I'm close to the dealer. About the loose bags and plastic on the gauges. I had the same on my Challenger. I asked the dealer to fix it and they did fix both in 30mins. Thanks for the great video! Ride safe!
I have a date with my dealer to start the claims!! And yes it was not about Indian won't fix it.. more about overall could be tighter!! Thank you!! You'll be happy with the sauce!!
Sorry I’m late to the party commenting. When I test rode the Challenger at Daytona bike week I came back grinning ear to ear. What a nice bike! I rode a Chieftain as well and liked it better than any of the HD’s I owned or ridden. Great honest review sir! Looking forward to the next one.
You or COOL 😎 You have the bragging right 2 you road your First Challenger at Daytona bike week ➕💛➕ The best experience I have Heard on the challenge 🇺🇸 want a test ride 👍🏿👍🏿 love from Mississippi USA 🇺🇸
Glad to see your up to your usual high standard dripping with honesty and integrity. I live in Australia & have 2020 limited which I believe is the best riding bike I’ve ever owned & there have been many. Haven’t ridden it for over 8 weeks now & counting , see I sent my ECU to Lloydz for the magic sauce, all went well but our covid affected mail system here in OZ is so far backlogged it’s still sitting in customs in Sydney, hopefully soon I’ll get it back, really really hanging out for it, anyway Fish once again thanks for an unbiased quality review.
8 weeks!!! I hope you are holding up ok out your way!! When you get it let me know how fish sauce is for you!!! I agree its also the best bike.. I really love it!! Also thank you for the kind words!!
G'day Peter. I am down in Melbourne, & still waiting to pick my Challenger up (hopefully in the next 4 weeks). Please keep me posted about the ECU work, your thoughts and the cost. Safe riding.
@@GraemeBlore certainly will, still waiting for Australia post to get it to me, hopefully it will fix all the niggling little issues I didn’t like about the otherwise fantastic bike.
Great video man, I really can't wait for my intake to come in so I can do my Lloydz. I'll ask for the fish sauce lol. I'm pretty sure my tires are acting up already at only 3200 miles. Looking forward to your next video.
Can you add a link to where you bought the passenger back rest and luggage rack. Love the way it looks. Thanks for the video review! Going to get my challenger later on this week!
Great review, are the backrest and luggage rack Indian brand or something else, you don't mention in the video. P.s. I'm picking up a Challenger next week and I can't wait! Thanks, Pete (UK).
I have a bunch of upgrades that I like but nothing made the bike better like lloydz tune. Great video, I love the Challenger and I feel even more confident in the bike watching your adventures on it.
@@Ridingfish upgrades I like and believe were worth the money are, KST handle bars, heated grips, powerband dash speaker upgrade, the lloyds tune, custom dynamic lights on the bags (rear), ciro 3D toe pegs, Rinehart slip ons with crown tips and stage one intake (for looks mainly), saddlemen road sofa LS, quick detach passenger backrest with luggage rack and the new TLC meat hook engine and bag guards. The thing I’m not that happy with is the back rest that I got with the saddlemen road sofa, it’s great quality but a little too big. The Indian backrest that I got with the bike original works with the saddlemen seat and is smaller. I have the klock werks 8 inch windshield which is nice but not worth the cost as far as I’m concerned. I just can’t see any piece of plexy costing that much. I agree with your assessment of the bikes performance, it’s not talked about enough. The handling of this bike is insane and the improvement with the tune just pushes it over the top. I am a very happy Challenger owner
What a great write up!!! Im we are on the same page and nice to hear info on things I have no idea about also!! Thank you very much!! Maybe one day I'll get bars!! .. ps heated grips in Minnesota should be standard!! Haahhaha
Once again you are spot on with this review. As far as the front tire I also got cupping at 10k miles I’m beginning to think that’s just how these are made. Thanks for the video hope to see you out on the road.
@@Ridingfish the bike is an R1250RT and my tires were Metzler Z8's. It's not a direct comparison as this is more of a sport touring bike than a cruiser, but still over 600lbs. Anyways, the front tire had about 10000km (6000miles). I'm the second owner and bought the bike around 6000km. Now I'm running Dunlop Roadsmart 4's and really like them. Much more agile and really good turn in. I have 5000km on them and the front tire is still perfectly round. This is my 6th bike. I've had two cruisers in the past (Honda Shadow and Victory Highball) and ran lots of different tire brands, Pirelli, Dunlop, Michelin, Metzler, and probably others that I don't recall. The Metzler is the only tire I've had cupping problems with. I'm on the fence on buying a Challenger right now. Going to make a trip shortly to rent one for a couple days. I joined the forums and am pretty concerned with all the electrical problems I'm reading of. Seems like lots of trouble codes...guys getting codes from riding in the rain, one guys bike shut down completely. Other guys complaining of chassis fault codes. Numerous people having cylinder misfire codes after the latest ECU update from Indian. Idle problems, stalling problems, etc. The Ride Command being gliItchy seems to be a common complaint too. Your review was awesome, really appreciated that, thanks!
Fish! Great honest review of the Challenger! If you remember me from the spring flood run, i have identical bike. I agree with all of your problems with the bike. Lost my key fob out of the front lower storage, drivers side, popped open on 35W @85mph and gone! Front tire is cupped, started at 15K miles, bag lids seem way to loose compared to the fit of my old Victory Magnum and yes worst part, my clutch started slipping at 18K miles and now is getting replaced at 20K miles. Indian should address this clutch issue, i drove my Magnum the exact same way and no clutch issues. Sold it with 45K miles and was like new still. Too much power for this clutch? I'm going with the Barnett replacement. Thanks!
It seems as if there really are a few things indian may keep an eye on for the future for sure!! ... I once did lose something out of the fairing but I had just touched it so im sure I unlocked it!! Sucks I was not in a place to pick it up either!!
I hate the glove boxes personally I added locks because I had failures in both push latches and took months to get replacements, super annoying. Also I have all the same rattling on my challenger too so I completely agree with the gripes. I have 45,000 KM's on my ride already and have LOVED EVERY SINGLE mile on the bike. Just got my Lloydz flash but my bike has stage 2 cams, so I am curious what type of performance improvement if any I will see.
Oh you will see some I have to believe with the Lloyd'z tune!! Yea I double check the glove boxes all the time!! Haha It has came open a couple times but really it was my fault!! Yes I love this motorcycle... best one being made!!
The electronics is biggest concern after my experience with the roadmaster. Loved that bike, never became unrideable, but a weird electrical issue kept popping up every once in a while. Pretty sure it's the starter that did it, but the manufacturer didn't agree.
That's very unfortunate!! Every once in a while there is a odd electric issue when these things are starting to have a ton of wires now!! A simple ground gone wrong can fuxk things all up!!
Nice review. I agree with you on the tires. I love the tires but my 2021 Challenger front tire also developed cupping at around 9,000 miles. Love my Challenger.
I’ve had Metzlers on a Victory u have to keep the air pressure up or they will cup. I agree they are good tires. I would probably go with Michelins for a change
Love your videos Fish, the best investment for my Challenger was the Saddleman RoadSofa with backrest. No longer have to stop and take a break every couple of hours...can ride 8 hrs only stopping for gas, piss, coffee ..and a beer of course
Good review bro! I had the same issues with my tires. It would wobble around 40 mph. I changed to Avon Cobra's and absolutely love the way the stick to the road. Check them out. And i 100% agree with u on fit and finish. That's where HD has the advantage but no where else. The Challenger is a BEAST!!
Great review brother. Fit and finish for sure needs an update. How about painting the inner fairing a gloss black. I'm not crazy about the matching fairings but gloss black would make the bike look so much cleaner. Also ive wondered why they didn't paint those side covers the same color as the bike. Two easy fixes. Ride safe!
@@motoGPness i guess i would have done the entire inner fairing. Compartment doors, dash and trim around the fairing. I think the gloss on what was done looks better than the parts that weren't. I still love the bike. And can't wait to see a Jack Daniels paint job in person. Looks like a great paint job on the Challenger.
I thought the matte finishes looked good in pictures. Didn't really care for it in person. The gloss finishes are great. Can the latches on the bags not be adjusted?
putting a deposit down for a 2022 challenger next week! I'm sad they don't have the white smoke as an option for next year, that is by far my favorite color.
I just got my 2020 challenger in July 2021, so loyds garage is where I can get my tune , haven’t had it done yet but heard great things, I do have the tour pack , I done fell in love with my challenger next upgrade is loyds tune and handle bars, riding fish videos helped me understand what’s going on in the challenger world, haven’t had a chance to ride it across country yet, but now that I have a full tour pack I’m ready and I have trips planned for 2022 across the country, I originally wanted the Roadglide, but after riding the challenger they did not come close , the challenger won with motor suspension technology and performance and it’s liquid cooled for hot and distance riding and the stereo is nice ! I have the same bike you have except mines is black matte also looking to add lights to bike for safety as well as turn signals taking it to Florida for the first ground pound trip in may, I had to get use to all the technology, that comes on the new bikes
This is music to my ears!!! Depending where you live Lloyd'z may have a remote center so you don't have to mail in your ECU!! Im sooo jealous of the tour pack!! Maybe one day!! Spoiler but Indian is coming out with new bars for the Challenger I think Im Actually going to get!!!!! Really as of now.. the RG is not on the same page as the Challenger!! If trying to compare you have to start with a CVO and then still doesn't add up!. The Challenger is a game changer for us motorcycle enthusiasts!! Thank you
I’m taking it to his shop I live six hours from Charlotte in Columbus Ohio, I’m going to look at what Indian bars they have for the challenger Man I’m pumped up about the challenger I ride with my cousins all Harley-Davidson riders all of them put 10k into their motors 131 124’s 128’’s I’m running rite with them with a stock challenger motor and no loyds tune yet. That’s going to be my Xmas gift to myself, I bought the bike with 2000 miles on it, the guy who bought it before me had did some stuff to it before I bought it he did Atleast a stage one kit and removed the cat delete/ I never had a dyno done on it! I’m going to have loyds check and dyno it
Great review! I have a question regarding the Stage 1 air intake. Does the intake replace the internal air filter so that you no longer have to pull the gas tank to replace it? Thanks. Beautiful bike by the way. Absolutely gorgeous.
@@Ridingfish So does the intake have a filter too? Sorry for the dumb question but before dropping $480 I'd like to be as well-informed as possible. Can't trust a sales guy.
I like the honest reveiw.. I have a saddleman road sofa on my 19 chieftain.. stay away from saddleman if you don't like hard seats.. I have 6k on it and can only go for 100 miles before looking for a break and I'm a long distance rider as well.. I live in Minnesota if you wanna check it before buying sometime..
Ok!! MINNESOTA!! i looking at the forecast and planning on having a sore butt!! Our days are numbered!!!! Thank you for watching! I have heard many good things about saddlebag seats tho!!
@@Ridingfish I heard many good things about saddleman as well, that's why I bought one.. I put 3k on it and sent it back to get reworked and still the same result.. fit to finish is outstanding but it's just to hard.. last weekend I went to Redwing and LA Crosse wis. Colors are getting close.. ride hard brother, love to ride with ya some time..
@@Ridingfish I dig your channel and have ridden to a lot of places you been.. Tetons, beartooth, iron butt etc .. next time I'm in your area I'll hit you up. I have family in the Northfield, Owatonna, Cannon Falls area so I frequently ride down there from the Willmar area.. keep up the vids
Is there a slot in the heated/cooled seat to install the Indian rider backrest? I have the standard seat with a rider backrest and the backrest adds significantly to my comfort. I would like to have heat. I have heard that as you mentioned the heated/cooled seat is hard. I have a 2022 base challenger. Pleased with it.
What I like about what you did to your bike, you used your money wisely. Although I am not a fan of Indian expensive sound systems as I am listening to my music with Bluetooth, overall, I like your conservative taste
I have the stock on still!! Im scared to change them and not like them!!.. but I do like the dirty birds (rode once) and klip hangers and torch!! I would like to pull the trigger on them.. but idk
2021 DH chally here, Ive heard the cupping is indeed due to lower tire pressure. Bump it up at least 5psi and see if that helps, I am only about 8 k or so on mine and have noticed a little cupping so i added more air, so far so good! Ive noticed on the cooler mornings (i live in the mountains) that the tire PSI seems to be lower until i get the bike out and get the tires warmed up, then Im guessing the heat of the tire increases the pressure where my tire warning light will turn off. I am actually wondering if Nitrogen filled tires would help alleviate some of the fluctuating PSI during the spring/fall when the temps are cooler in the mornings.
Yea I hear you about the tire pressure.. if your light is on, really you should add some.. thats why they say cold air pressure.. But I'm guilty of riding it too... lol
I have to agree my best accessory was the Lloydz tune also-huge difference in performance plus his cams on my '19 Chieftain. Great review by the way !!
Congrats on 3k subs man!!! My paint is insanely sturdy, believe it or not. Only one small chip and I’m pretty sure I hit a Boulder flying off a truck! Some things I can say about my bike, for an 850 pound bike it feels very cheaply assembled. Get on a road glide and everything feels so much more sturdy. Lloydz saved my challenger ownership for sure! If it wasn’t for that, I’d be back on a 131 road glide. But, my bike has always started, isn’t leaking, and I’m hoping it stays that way. Good stuff fish
I agree with the paint being strong.. I just mean like paint style more than durability... maybe I should of been more clear about that!! 3k might be all I got hahaha 😆 😅 🤣 sounds like you had one of the Challengers with a few issues that's for sure.. if you were on that 131 I'll wait for you at lunch!! hahahaha
@@Ridingfish 😂 I am sticking with the indian. I still have a horrible noise coming from the engine. That’s what a warranty and 15k dollars put aside for a used Harley when I blow up the challenger. 😆
I have the 2020 Challenger Darkhorse Whitesmoke, like yours, but when they advertised the Adaptive Headlight, it didn’t show it fitting my bike so I messaged Indian and the said the electrical system did not support it. I just changed mine to the Eagle 2 Halo headlight.
Awwww.... yea it does. Sometimes if you shout down the bike without powering it off it gets weird then you turn off the bike and turn it back on and good to go!
eeey! Fuck the bike, what cap are you rocking? Just kidding! Awesome bike, love that color for the darkhorse! And the headlight / tinted screen really gives it the mean look! Awesome man! Nice Vid!
Haha my notifications popped up and and all I saw was Fuxk the bike!! Haha I'm aww shit here we go!!! Hahahaha thank you!! It's a TrustNoOne blade hat! Trustnooneclothing.com
Awesome video bro if could ever get the money up I'd love to get a challenger for sure I curantly have a 2000 victory V92C and I love it lol. But would love to have an upgrade in the garage and the challenger is just a beautiful bike and would make a great addition ya know ???
At 13444 miles on my roadmaster the only issue I have had a wheel speed sensor go out on my 2018 roadmaster. It wasn't Indians fault it was one in a batch that wasn't good. At 2,000 miles I had a windshield block fall off. The dunlop elite 3 only lasted 9850 miles now on Mitchellin commander 2 so far no problem.
I have had a few ppl say the commander 2s are good tires!! Im not surprised that you have not had any isses!! I really don't feel like I have had BIG issues.. kind of but it's been great for so long now I'm 100% happy!!
Bro press down a second time on your lids of your bags.. they have a second catch position..they wont make any noise when put in second catch positions
Just hit 10k on mine. Have more than 1 bike & ride about 15k a year on all. Need a Lloyd's Tune on my 2020 Challenger, Stage 2, Cat Delete, with Tab Zombies Pipes. Dynojet Tune. Any recommendations on NEW rear shock? 2 up on mine is rough. Had it adjusted for 2 up & it still bottoms out.
As of today sounds like thr new electric rear suspension is available.. you may want to look into that!!!!! 15k is a good year of riding!! About what I have been able to do the last couple years!!
The Amazon chrome ones are fine, I hate to say it, but almost every accessory I’ve got from Indian has “Made in China” somewhere on the box. If I’m getting “Made in China” I’m gonna go ahead and pay “Made in China” prices! I will say that the infinity highway pegs are way more sturdy than the Amazon offerings. Maybe Q.C. Is better with Indians China goods. I stay on the forums to get what I want at a reasonable price. If not for the forums my bike would be way closer to stock.
I've got only one gripe with my '21 challenger dark horse (just under 10k miles on it now)... I have to check AND tighten my header flange nuts ever 800-1k miles... constant exhaust leak which sounds like valve ticking.. irritating as all get out... even with taking the heat shields off and checking/tightening all the exhaust clamps it still has a slight exhaust tick...just something i've accepted i have to deal with. You ever had issues with the header flanges/nuts on those toce headers?
So Toce uses the Stock headers .. I have not had issues that I know of with header.. my guess is I would know if I did doesn't sound like something I wouldn't notice... what about some loctite?!?!
Wife has enjoyed it.. but only like 150-200 miles in a day.. not long days.. loves the heat as she is always cold.. Minnow is like 50 lbs can sit on the floor for a 100 miles!!! Hahah but she loves the cooling!!
I never get more than 8k on BACK tires. My HD & my Indian. (Dunlop - Metzeler) Usually 6-7k on Dunlop. 8k on Metzeler. Clutch adjustment at 5k. (Not replaced)
@@Ridingfish this was a great review. I have the TLC rear bars ordered in, based on your review. I was about to order the cheap ones. However, I went with the Indian front highway bars and picked up the Indian Lowers with storage pods. I am a veteran, so my accessories allowance paid for most of it. Also looked into Toce and hope to be one of the first in line for their Challenger pipes. Keep doing the great work!
@brentnlena18 with a tune im sure you will be fine.. no tune you might lose a little.. less with the 2-1-2 delete then the 2-1. But tuned you will be ready im sure..
So this is my quick thoughts.. if your smaller the chieftain will fit nicer and if your a little taller then the Challenger for fit... the PP108 IMO is a little more performance the the TS116... the ride and tour part are both better then other options out there!! So if you're tall and want better performance then Challenger.. if your shorter AND Performance isn't really a care then Chieftain... To be clear tho if you're shorter and performance IS IMPORTANT don't stress the Challenger you have options but it does feel bigger to shorter peeps
Because, this summer I was running high PSI just because I was riding through the desert and hot and fast conditions... so when they said run higher... I already was.. matter a fact if they would of said don't run too high... it would of been a awwwhaaaa moment... My first set could of been under inflation as I was riding Lots of high altitude and cold to hot back to cold . But not this second set of tires!!
Get you some Fish Sauce! 28k miles is a credible review. All with enthusiastically ridden miles 😂 Saving money is alway smart. But man, Amazon, unless specified, are likely copies. Ripping off the companies who designed it to perform the right way. Many times you get what you pay for. For those times you don’t, you have customer service to complain to. Tire Cupping is a tough one. Contributing factors are over inflation or under inflation above/below tire manufacturers recommendation. Dyna beads installed on new tires do help with smoothing out performance. Look into them. Excellent update Fish. The only question I have would be, would you buy again? Ride safe and ride often. Trust No One. Peace.
@@Ridingfish That’s interesting. Then what is recommended pressures all about? To me it’s where the manufacturer determines the tire performs best based on their years and battery of tests in all conditions. Maybe it’s your MotoGP style of riding. Because that’s another way Cupping can develop. Hard braking in Corners. 🤪. TNO!
Saddlebag lids are junk...! I complained to TWO different dealers and the second one (who I did not buy from) took pictures and sent them off to Polaris / Indian. Much to my surprise I received two new ones. BUT.... they really didn't change much, still a negative for me. HD bags are way sturdier. The dash "cowl" is cheap too.... mine started rattling a while back and it drives me crazy. I too will have to look into new velcro or something. Oh...one thing that I noticed that you did not touch on was the cruise control. The Challenger cruise control takes a bit more effort to shut off while using. What I mean by that is.... if you want to KEEP the same speed that you have it set for and just need to brake for a second to just slow down a few MPH it requires a good amount of brake pressure. My Challenger.. (which it may not be the case with all of them) requires me to almost pump the brake a bit to get it to release. So much so that I have to use the rear brake. With the HD cruise control the slightest amount of pressure to either the front or rear brake shuts it off and it does not hinder the momentum of your speed. I miss that because I use the CC all the time when on the highway.
Great points... the cruise tho for me is perfect!!.. touch of break or a roll forward of the throttle and its off... matter a fact 90% of the time I roll forward so my break lights don't light up and ppl riding behind me hit theirs!! Seems to be very similar things across the board tho!!
@@Ridingfish When someone cuts / moves in front of me that would cause me to get off of cruise control I don't find it conducive to roll the throttle on. 😂
@@Ridingfish More Torque down low and better wind management. And I like the style of my Chieftain. You can tell it's an Indian a mile away. Not to knock the Challenger but iv ridden one and I really thought I'd love it but wasn't impressed. I may do another demo days ride this year and see.

I am glad you or doing Better and recovering
I hope you have a good lawyer and Doctor’s

Man, what a Great review, honest and thorough. I have followed you from the start when you got the Challenger and have enjoyed all your adventures. I am looking at getting a Challenger and this video was a great help, especially with the accessories with what is worth the money or not. I appreciate your videos and work, keep it up and Ride Safe. Thanks.
Thank you kent!! I appreciate the kind words!! I have more plans to keep the fun times up!! But I don't know how many "reviews " are left of the Challenger.. I have a little thing planned and some product stuff also!! Fun times!!
Good review, thanks for having us along "still hoping to get a Challenger in the near future"
I hope you get one also!! Like near future!! Hahah
+1 on the 9” freedom shield windshield. Literally perfect. John is super dope to work with too.
I'm lucky enough to say I got to meet John and his wife!! Amazing people and great windshields!! 100% love them!!
Ordered a '21 Challenger Ltd Ruby Red. Expected to arrive in February. Super excited! Hopefully spring comes early in AB so I can ride it.
Congratulations!!!!!!! That is totally awesome!! Keep me updated as how much you love it!! 🙏 for fast February and early spring!!!!!
Better late then never!! Thank you€
You or COOL 😎 You have the bragging right

Great video review Fish. Been a great ride!
Sure has!! Lot of miles to go also!!
Love those Indian motorcycles!
They just keep getting better and better!!
Yes!! Thats a win for us consumers!!!
Great video man, I really can't wait for my intake to come in so I can do my Lloydz. I'll ask for the fish sauce lol. I'm pretty sure my tires are acting up already at only 3200 miles. Looking forward to your next video.
I'm already working on it!! Thank you for watching and commenting!! I appreciate it!!
Can you add a link to where you bought the passenger back rest and luggage rack. Love the way it looks.
Thanks for the video review!
Going to get my challenger later on this week!
I got it from Indian Motorcycle website
Great review, are the backrest and luggage rack Indian brand or something else, you don't mention in the video. P.s. I'm picking up a Challenger next week and I can't wait! Thanks, Pete (UK).
Hell yea!!! Congratulations on your new bike!!! YES, THE BACK REST AND RACK are Indian Motorcycle branded!!!
I have a bunch of upgrades that I like but nothing made the bike better like lloydz tune. Great video, I love the Challenger and I feel even more confident in the bike watching your adventures on it.
Boom!!!!!!!! What are some of your other favorite upgrades??? Any you didn't like??
Haahhaha
Outstanding review chief! 👏 Im about to go and purchase a 2022 Indian Challenger !
Congratulations!!! Im looking forward to the 22s!! As it looks like some fit and finish has been improved!!
Buying this bike in the next 4 months. Can't wait. Thanks for a 28k review of it.
Hell yea!! 4 months can not come fast enough!!
Once again you are spot on with this review. As far as the front tire I also got cupping at 10k miles I’m beginning to think that’s just how these are made. Thanks for the video hope to see you out on the road.
Yes, I also hope to see you on the road!! Would be awesome!! But this dang tire should not cup!! Uggg... buy stock in Metzler!! Haha
Mine started after 4k miles even though I do keep my tire pressure around 43 to 45.
Metzler's front tire cupped on my BMW as well. Switched to Dunlop and haven't noticed any cupping yet.
Good to know!! How many miles do you have on the Dunlops?
Thanks for putting together another honest review. When's the left bag support bracket coming out from Toce? I still don't see it on their website.
That bag support will be part of a package... but email them it should be ASAP
Just purchased a 2021 dark horse challenger. Great freaking review.
Thank you sooo much!! See I love when ppl say I'm right!! Haha
Love my Challenger.
yes!! great bike.. ill just deal with the tires i guess...i have had a few ppl tell me to check out other tires tho!! idk
I’ve had Metzlers on a Victory u have to keep the air pressure up or they will cup. I agree they are good tires. I would probably go with Michelins for a change
I really try and keep the tires on point!! I agree
Love your videos Fish, the best investment for my Challenger was the Saddleman RoadSofa with backrest. No longer have to stop and take a break every couple of hours...can ride 8 hrs only stopping for gas, piss, coffee ..and a beer of course
I have never had a saddlemen seat but I really only hear good things about them.. I got to meet the owner/ceo he was a cool dude to talk with!!
So the Avons handle the same you would say?? 🤔 I may have to make the jump!!
@@Ridingfish they're ligit.

Thank you!! Appreciate you brother!
Stoked I got to test ride this bad boy a few months back. Great bike for the price. 🔥
Really is a great bike!!
Ride safe!
I believe the 2021 have painted interior fairings... but yes little things like that I hope is on the horizon!!!!
100%. Fit and Finish.
I have a ‘21 limited and the interior panels are gloss black.
Damn love that sound!!! This is more of a review of your accessories not the bike...which is good, because I'm getting one
Yea, what one are you planning?? Congratulations!!
@@Ridingfish it HAS to be the Dark Horse. Ordering it Wednesday. I enjoy your videos thank you for what you do!
@@Jonathan_Knight , congratulations!! I have had some fun doing this so ill keep it up!! Im pumped for you!!!
I thought the matte finishes looked good in pictures. Didn't really care for it in person. The gloss finishes are great.
Can the latches on the bags not be adjusted?
not without a little modification
Inverted fork's and mono shock is from the Victory, ride and handle great... I run Dunlap E4's

putting a deposit down for a 2022 challenger next week! I'm sad they don't have the white smoke as an option for next year, that is by far my favorite color.
i was surprised they did not have white even glossy .. idk but im happy to have mine thats for sure!! congrads on the new bike!!
@@Ridingfish Thanks! It'll be a few months before it arrives. In the meantime I'll be looking for what accessories and mods I'd want to get.

No it doesn't!! It's like an added port but still uses the main filter in the frame...

Is there a slot in the heated/cooled seat to install the Indian rider backrest? I have the standard seat with a rider backrest and the backrest adds significantly to my comfort. @@SheriffGuyBuck, yes then I'm sure but I know that there is things changing fast.. but we always need a reason to ride!!!
But I'm guilty of riding it too... lol
What psi are u running
I have to agree my best accessory was the Lloydz tune also-huge difference in performance plus his cams on my '19 Chieftain. Great review by the way !!
Thank you so much!! I appreciate it!! It's amazing what the upgraded cams do!!

Yes!! Well, live and learn. I agree with you!!
Have to agree metzler 888 did the same thing on my vtx my mechanic had me change it to a Dunlop elite because of it.
yea, idk I have not really heard much happing as consistent as metzler..
@@Ridingfish was told it’s what the gold wings use because of the weight
Metzler road tires have cupped on road bikes for years,on many makes!!!!
They are great, UNTIL they cup!! Lol
I ride a hd rg, but they seem nice, theyre are as expensive if not more then hd. But im glad 2c hd has a serious contender, competition is good...
I thought a lot of their stuff was made here in Minnesota!! umm interesting!
So fish... 2022 Indian Springfield darkhorse Jack Daniel's Rye. 107 for the whole world. Are you getting one?
You mean the JD Challenger!!! I would if I could!! 100%!!
I LIKE THIS BIKE VERY MUCH.
How is the upgraded seat for passenger? Wife complains, and is in pain in a hour or so on stock seat.
Wife has enjoyed it.. but only like 150-200 miles in a day.. not long days.. loves the heat as she is always cold.. Minnow is like 50 lbs can sit on the floor for a 100 miles!!! Hahah but she loves the cooling!!
Did they cover the ecu problem under warranty??
Yes when the throttle bodies or whatever it was.. yes they fixed that right away!!
I never get more than 8k on BACK tires.
My HD & my Indian. (Dunlop - Metzeler)
Usually 6-7k on Dunlop. 8k on Metzeler.
Clutch adjustment at 5k. (Not replaced)
What about front tire cupping???
@@Ridingfish
No issues with cupping, YET!
This is why I went Darkside
Funny I "dinant" enjoy this rambling review.
Maybe you should watch it again too make sure!!! Maybe it will grow on you!!
Does the 2021 Dark Horse come standard with Power Band audio in the fairing? I'm still waiting for my Challenger to arrive
They do come with upgraded speakers.. im pretty sure they're powerband..
Hell yea... I talked with Toce yesterday actually and they are just about done!! If you send me a pm on Instagram or Facebook..
Did u loose bottom end or and range of performance with the cat delete ?
No,
Here is a full break down of that exhaust
th-cam.com/video/2na6kl8CT6g/w-d-xo.html
@@Ridingfish thank you so much. So do u think I will be ok with 4.5 zombies and cat delete and intake with the toon.
@brentnlena18 with a tune im sure you will be fine.. no tune you might lose a little.. less with the 2-1-2 delete then the 2-1. But tuned you will be ready im sure..
Man I'm stuck between the dh challenger and the dh chieftain. What's ur thoughts man?
So this is my quick thoughts.. if your smaller the chieftain will fit nicer and if your a little taller then the Challenger for fit... the PP108 IMO is a little more performance the the TS116... the ride and tour part are both better then other options out there!! So if you're tall and want better performance then Challenger.. if your shorter AND Performance isn't really a care then Chieftain...
To be clear tho if you're shorter and performance IS IMPORTANT don't stress the Challenger you have options but it does feel bigger to shorter peeps
@@Ridingfish thanks for the info man. I can't wait to pull the trigger on one!
Anytime!! Let me know what you pick!! Also riding them both one may call to you!!
Saying it makes roads feel new is a big deal for someone riding in Minnesota. I take that comment as gospel
Hahaha then you understand!!
Anybody tell me where to get bag liners for my challenger?? It's hard to find anything for these
Are you asking for like carpet or some type of clue in?? 🤔
Great video
Thank you!!
You didn’t mention the tire pressure your running. Metzler said run at higher psi why don’t you try it?
Peace.
Oh boy!! 100% I would buy it again!! I really love this bike!! I asked Metzler about over inflation and they said not really .. idk
@@Ridingfish
That’s interesting. Then what is recommended pressures all about? To me it’s where the manufacturer determines the tire performs best based on their years and battery of tests in all conditions. Maybe it’s your MotoGP style of riding. Because that’s another way Cupping can develop. Hard braking in Corners. 🤪. TNO!
Hahahah who brakes!!! Jk maybe I'll just buy stock in Metzler!! It could buy all my tires in the future!! Haha
Love from Mississippi USA 🇺🇸
Thank you!!
@@Ridingfish Might just be my machine.
@@m.j.hooligan8139 Do you ever roll the throttle forward??
@@Ridingfish When someone cuts / moves in front of me that would cause me to get off of cruise control I don't find it conducive to roll the throttle on. 😂
WAIT...! you mean roll the throttle forward.
As much as I like the Challenger and want one I can't give up my Chieftain. Nice bike though.
Not saying you're wrong what are the things that you would be giving up??
@@Ridingfish More Torque down low and better wind management. And I like the style of my Chieftain. You can tell it's an Indian a mile away. Not to knock the Challenger but iv ridden one and I really thought I'd love it but wasn't impressed. I may do another demo days ride this year and see.
@@347mav3, fair!! To be honest if they made a chieftain style bike and put the 108 in it I would love it!!
Hmm ...where did you get the saddlebag support from ?
It's part of the Toce 2-1 package
@@Ridingfish ah that's a nice setup the other ones seems to lose the use of back crashbars...thanks for the response

Great review, just upgraded to the limited myself, been looking for the backrest. Did you get that one from Indian?
I'm liking your shield also. Got one from klockworkz for my chieftain darkhorse, imo it looked like a penis getting erect when raising. Think im going with freedom shields this time.
