I live in the inland empire of California. And I own a 2021 DH. CHIEFTAIN. I added a heated / ventilated seat. And drips. Stock drivetrain. Diving lights. All OEM. Indian makes a solid bike. You've made a great video. Thank you !
Bagger of the decade. Wow. I have had 4 Harleys and 2 Indians. What do the Indians not have in common with the Harleys? They both left me stranded on the road. I am sure there are some people who have had a lot of success with them, but both were about as reliable as an 80s Chrysler for me (2018 RoadMaster, 2021 Challenger Limited).
Man I am the titanium smoke base model and thinking about it. The only thing I want is just the GPS module from Indian for the CarPlay the rest of the bike is perfect
In Australia you can only get top of the range pursuit and challenger. I would have got the base model challenger but for the price difference between top range better off getting the pursuit.
My next bike will be the Indian challenger. Love that bike. One of my customers rented one for me so I could make him a leather heat shield, tank bib and fender bib. I only had it for a couple of days, but I loved it. If you need any leather for your bike let me know.
I really loved the bike when I first looked at it, and still do, but I went with the Sportster S. Once you have all of the bells and whistles in the electronics package for a daily rider, the the package on a tourer does not need to be performance orientated so much. I am leaning to the Indian Chief Classic or Sportglide ST. I still think the Challenger is a great bike though, I am just more inclined to slim lining my ride.
Indians are decent bikes. With that being said, Indians cannot compete with Harley's dealership network, Aftermarket parts selection, fit and finish, and resale value. I do wish Harley would up their game in the tech and power department straight from the factory for the money a person pays, and i believe they will. I'll stick to Harleys, for now!
Have you priced a used challenger lately? They definitely hold their value which is unfortunate because I want one but I'm not willing to pay what's being asked for a used cycle
@@7thgenerationnow357 not sure maybe find something used and work on it because nobody else will or even a used Kawasaki Vaquero don't really know to be honest it just pisses me off
Yup, that’s true. It’d be embarrassing if they didn’t beat them in sales etc. Indian motorcycle is still very new. I don’t buy into the Indian heritage nonsense. Indian was a mess before Polaris.
Quality? U mean less tech for the buck, a lesser suspension, less horse power, less torque, halogen bulbs, and unreasonable dealership markups....yup that's harley for ya lol
Not only performance but tech. If I have to spend 30K for a bike, then pay another 10K just to make it what it was supposed to be, I’ll pass. Tech wise, HD isn’t even close. Even a CVO can’t compare to an Elite or Premium package.
I was dead set on buying a Road Glide until I test rode a Challenger Darkhorse. The Indian destroys HD in performance and bang for buck. Plus the HD is cramped. I’m 6’3” and every Harley I sit on feels like it’s designed for someone that is 5’9”. The Challenger fit like a glove right off the showroom floor.
I found the turning radius disappointing. The heat from the engine was a surprise. I found the Challenger to be top heavy. The stock bars were awful, the seat lacked comfort. After 2 no starts, 7 phantom check engine lights, failed GPS, TPMS I traded out of mine. Got hosed in the process, Indian trade in values suck. Just being honest here. Brand loyalty can make you blind.

What type/ brand of seat did you get?
@@7thgenerationnow357 I purchased the Indian heated / cooled seat.
How do you like it? I’m thinking about getting it before it gets too cold
@@7thgenerationnow357 I haven't had it installed. Just yet. But I will very soon.
Cool, 🤙🏽
Love those Indian motorcycles!
They just keep getting better and better 👍

You can’t get the base model in Australia?
I got such a great deal and warranty
Good review 7, I did the same thing after I test-drove it too. I was set on getting a Chieftain but ended up with the Challenger Dark Horse.
Good choice! I’m really happy with this bike. I’ve read about some idling issues but I’ve never had any issues. I’m over 15k now and no problems
Appreciate the thorough walk around and straight forward review 👍🏽 you have a beautiful bike!
Thank you 🙏🏽 for your comments
Indian warranty is 2 yrs unlimited miles. The engine def is not warrantied beyond that

Iam on a 2017 chieftain limited full stage ,2 very low miles haven't test rode the Challenger have concerns about a fixed fairing
I got hit about a month after I bought the bike and I the fixed fairing definitely saved me from going down.
Chieftain limited is a dope bike.
Were the crash bars included?

Thanks for sharing! Just as long as we are riding. That’s what it’s all about. After riding this bike I’d have a hard time going to something smaller.
Where did you buy your drop guard?
What do you mean lifetime warranty on the motor... please explain ty
Please explain I thought it's a 2 year unlimited mileage
I have a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty. But the dealership gave me a lifetime warranty on the engine. 🤙🏽
Not bad huh
AWESOME BIKE!!!.....great video dude, very honest....When my lottery check shows up i'll have one too!!! lol...Very nice.
When you win the lottery let me know and we can go for a ride after you buy your bike 😂😂😂😂
Appreciate you commenting on the video. I definitely love this bike.
@@7thgenerationnow357 LOL Will DO Buddy!!!
Took my bike the other day it was 34 degrees no fairing no heated anything
You’re a warrior. I hate riding in the cold. I’m skinny 😂 I get cold and have a hard time warming up.
What do you mean when you go above 70 or 75 and the stereo doesn’t work as well! 😂 be safe ❤
🤭

@@thollingsworth4910 i have not, i go by what the NADA says since it is what the bank goes by if financing.
You cheaped out bro… you should’ve just got the nicer one to begin with…
Really Mike? I don’t feel like I did. If there was a more expensive bike that I liked, I would’ve bought it. 😂
Too much money both that and the Harley both overpriced
😂 yeah. Agreed. What other realistic options do we have?

I get it. I’m looking for something I can work on and build myself.
It is destroying the HD by performance only. But where it counts: Sales, service, fit/finish, quality, aftermarket, and dealerships Hd is still king
