- On the 17th July Royal Enfield will be releasing the latest bike with the 450cc Sherpa engine, the Guerrilla 450, but at first glance, is the bike just a touch underwhelming?
We will know more once the bike has been officially released, but Ross and Lukas sat down to talk through what we've seen in the spy shots.

All seems quite logical really ...... with the 411 engine you had the (old) Himalayan followed by the Scram. Now, with the new 450 engine, you have the (new) Himalayan followed, again, by a more road biased machine, the Guerrilla. If it's half as good as some of the leaked photos, I've seen, it could be brilliant. Just a bare bones 450 single street bike with as little rubbish tech as possible ...... hopefully. Looks like there might be 2 derivatives, one with a clock a bit like the Hunter 350 + a Tripper and the other with the new round Himalayan clock. Right way up forks with gaiters is a perfect choice IMO ..... more old skool, even that 450 engine echoes of older styling and shapes despite being water cooled, a great looking lump. As for the name, they can call it a 'Ham Sandwich' for all I care ..... important thing is it rides well! I grew up on old British singles and moved onto things like the Yamaha SR 500 ..... fantastic bike!!! Amongst other bikes, I have a Hntr (in the UK) 350 ..... great little long stroke machine, can't fault it. I've test ridden the new Himalayan, very impressed, so I'm really looking forward to the Guerrilla. All the best, Phil (UK)
Not sure I’d ride a bike called a “Ham Sandwich”, but maybe that’s just me being picky. For me the difference between this and the Scram, is that the Scram had a very unique style to it. From what I’ve seen the Guerrilla just looks like another street bike. But agree, the new 450cc engine is an absolute peach. I also own a 350, but a Meteor, love it, it’s my go to commuter bike, as you said, great little long stroke single. Thanks for watching.
@@BikerTorque I wish it woulda gone more in a scram direction. Keep the forks and make the rims at least 17-19 instead of 17-17
@@BikerTorque Yeah you're right, 'Ham Sandwich' might be a step too far 😁 Anyway, I enjoy your reviews, you cover some interesting bikes. Look forward to your next video. Cheers, Phil (UK)
I ride every day sun rain whatever, I like the look, I like the center stand, bsa and triumph no center stand - looks like I have a new bike coming
Yes, a centre stand is such a practical option if you have a chain driven bike
It's good, it's a street-ish bike based on Himalayan. If it keeps some ground clearance and suspension travel it has potential to be a great all round motorcycle - good for street, can scramble more than most so called scramblers, back to basics but with some performance unlike 350s. A simple do it all fun bike, not over styled, but with a bit of a retro flavor.
I agree that in all likelihood it will be a good bike, just on first glance it looks a bit “meh”
The name & displacement evokes an ability to navigate & attack city streets with vigor. Let's hope the Guerrilla 450 can live up to this expectation. I note though that my Duke 200 already does this reaonasbly, even carrying my burly frame, and has USD forks. Having ridden motorcycles with conventional & USD forks across a wide range of displacements I've always found that USD always gave the better performance & feel out of the front end.
The Honda CB500f, Triumph Street 400 & CFMOTO 450NK also have USD forks, while the USD forks on the Duke 390 & Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 are adjustable. Kawasaki stands alone in this group, with the Z500 running conventional forks, but that's based on a platform that's been developed & improved over almost 4 decades. With this sort of competition already in the market RE needs to have made the Guerrilla 450 something special to stand out. We'll find out tomorrow.
Thanks for watching
The front end upto the tqnk especially for the silver color one gives me Guzzi vibes
Maybe just a little
The name is awesome ngl
Each to their own I suppose. I still think it will be a great bike to ride
This seems to be the play RE have for their market strategy..the OG Himmy was built to bring an accessible Adventure bike to the Indian market...but then the new Himmy was rebuilt for the Western adventure market keeping it more aspirational for the Indian market...and the Guerilla seems to be that correction to have this bike more accessible for the Indian market and hence will be stripped down...the UD Showa forks and the LED display being a prime example of that!
I think you are right, this bike is definitely aimed squarely at the Indian market
Some of those shots make me think Super Motard.
Burnouts, and hooligan vibes.
Yes, just a little bit, pity the actual bike isn’t my Super Motard, to me it just looks like another “insert generic road learner bike model name here” type of bike. I’m sure it will ride well though, just not a classic RE styled bike, but…great to see them mixing it up
Very interesting
Very!
like the name but i’m still sold on the shotgun !
Same here! 👍
I can definitely see you on a shotgun Chris
Actually Every One Don't Go To Off Roading, The Bike made For Those who want Himalayan Type Bike, Some Combination of Scram, Roadster, But with Less Weight, Less Cost, City and Highway Ride and Made For All Young, Mid, Older.
I Liked the Bike, And the Bike is Awesome. sfbeng 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yes that’s probably a very good point.
I agree 100%, I released a video on the same topic last week. I felt the bike doesn't fit the overall R.E family, and they're rushing their releases without much audience research (in the west anyway)
I think this one is definitely aimed at the Indian market, despite the launch being in Barcelona
Is this the replacement for the 411 Scram?
Front Shocks possibly the same as some in the 350 range.
Don’t think so, at least I hope not.
It probably is, since scram 411 was quite underwhelming and low on sales compared to other models
I hope it works well for RE.
Time will tell Chewie.
That name is awesome and this bike gets over on the Speed 400 just for the fact that it's a legit RE and not a badge job like the Triumph is
The Triumphs were engineered in collaboration with Bajaj...so they're definitely not a badge job! Lol....the real badge jobs are the Husqis which are just badge-engineered KTMs!
Haven’t ridden the Triumph’s yet, but Lukas has and loved them
Are you judging this on pics alone? Christ.
Absolutely, haven’t seen it in person as yet. Opinions may change once we get to ride it.
You just can't wait😅 can you
So here's my well whatever
It's a any road bike
Like the 650 Meteor became the Shotgun
My problem is, at first glance of the spy shots, it doesn’t have the same looks / vibe as the others in the RE range.
💩 Name. They need new designers. I agree with you guy's. 🤮
Maybe just a new design of this one, because the others look top notch.
It's a bit "meh".
Yes we agree, colours look ok though
@@BikerTorque Royal Enfield could never be accused of not being exciting with their colour schemes (except maybe with the first run of the 350 Meteor).
I also think it's ironic that RE's promotional video for the Guerilla mocked the "copy and paste" trend of motorcycle design today, while this new model seems to look a lot like the result of a one-night stand between a Ducati Scrambler and a Triumph Speed 400.
