Sinatra truly THE VOICE of the 20th Century. None before could match his talent and probably never will again. Sure, there are many singers out there, and some of them are also great, but Sinatra was a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon that will never be repeated. That's why it's great that we have all these recordings and videos, because the guy is gone now, but will never be replaced!

This was when Frank and Quincy were working on the album 'L.A. Is My Lady.' It's a cut from the video that was released in conjunction with the album. While they were filming, Michael Jackson came into the studio to watch and they both posed for the cameras in between takes.

Damn - this was 1984, way past Frank's heyday and yet he was still kickin' ass! Frank and that gang was really in my parents era and I got them tickets to see him in the early 80s, then I got to see him with my mom in that late 80s. I miss those days so much. Nothing's ever perfect, and I grew up with a clear sense of what's morally and ethically right and fair as opposed to what was wrong. I clearly remember my brothers teasing me because I was always crying ' it's not fair', whenever I saw injustice. My 67yo ass is still outraged by the injustice I am seeing happening now and I would like to say my peace. Shame, damn shame on every single one of you Republicans that has allowed Donald Trump to represent the Republican Party. Shame on you all for allowing him to be a legitimate and viable candidate for people to vote for, after you all saw him throw his VP out to be hung for doing his duty to the Constitution. Shame on you all to continue to support a candidate for President who continues to publicly disrespect every single system of the American government when it doesn't go his way, and then turns around to praise it when it hurts his adversary. It is so glaringly clear that trump is wholly unfit to hold the office of the presidency, and it's up to the leaders in the Republican party to make that call. I can literally hear Nixon screaming up from his grave, 'what the hell is wrong with you guys!' And for the first time, I would agree with him.

Oh those funny names! FRANK: “My man Louie Miller, he split the scene babe
after drawing out all the bread from his stash, Now MacHeath spends like a sailor
Do you suppose this guy he did something rash? Oh Sookie Tawdry, Jenny Diver, Polly Peachum, Miss Lu-lu Brown, Hey the line forms, on the right dear, now that MacHeath's back in town”. …...BOBBY DARIN: “Now did ya hear 'bout Louie Miller? He disappeared, babe, after drawin' out all his hard-earned cash, And now MacHeath spends just like a sailor, could it be our boy's done somethin' rash? Jenny Diver, ho-ho, yeah, Suki Tawdry, Miss Lottie Lenya, and ol' Lucy Brown, Oh, the line forms, on the right, babe, now that Macky's back in town” …...LOUIS ARMSTRONG: “Lookie here, Louie Miller, disappeared, dear, After drawing out his cash, and MacHeath spends like a sailor, Did our boy do somethin' rash? Suky Tawdry, Jenny Diver, Lotte Lenya, sweet Lucy Brown, Yes, the line forms on the right, dears now that Mackheath's back in town”… => I had to find out who these characters were! Now I know (Wiki’s): “MACK THE KNIFE” is based on the 1928 German musical “The Threepenny Opera” (and Satchmo added them to the song in 1955). SUKY TAWDRY, JENNY DIVER, and sweet LUCY BROWN were prostitutes who associated with the gangster Macheath “Mack”. POLLY PEACHEM is the wife of Capt. Macheath. Funny thing about LOTTE LENYA: she was the wife of the song's co-writer Kurt Weill (she played Jenny Diver in the original production). When Louis Armstong recorded the song, he was looking at names of the characters in the play and thought Lenya was a character, not a cast member. Subsequent versions of the song were based on Armstrong's lyrics, SO THIS MISTAKE LIVED ON. Finally, LOUIE MILLER represents a would-be client of one of the prostitutes, who is murdered by MacHeath after drawing out his money.

This song was once owned by Bobby Darin until this thrilling rendition by Francis and Quincy. As the orchestra builds with each stanza, you know it’s going to reach a crescendo with Francis never missing a beat. Marvelous.

Really terrible sound mix on this video. The bass overpowers Sinatra's vocals and sounds really bad, not to mention wrong notes.

As this song was nothing new, and more associated with singers from decades prior to this recording, Armstrong, Darin, Fitzgerald, it was included as a tribute to those who sang it previously, and also the musicians who allowed Frank to put his spin on it later in his career.

Sinatra happened to it. Check out his version of Mrs. Robinson to see Frank improve on Paul Simon's words and give the PTA and his pal Jilly Rizzo a plug.
