    Returning MY17 Ghibli end of this month, so excited to get rid of this car and not have to worry about 4th-year service. This car drained my bank account and is the most unreliable car I've ever owned. Cheap parts and terrible quality on an 80k+ car unacceptable. Car looks nice and sounds nice that's all it has to offer.

      @David Chavez go for the s7 maserati is a fashion statement. Audis are cheaper (not cheap) to maintain and there are more dealers and independent audi shops that do good work on them. Not to mention maserati dealers are few and far between. I live in nor cal and the closest one is a few hundred miles away. And at the end of the day when you spend 80k plus on a car and it has the same infotainment and shifter as well as most components on the vehicle that are Mopar parts might as well just by a hell cat or some other Mopar product

    Purchased a 2013 gt sport. Within four months replaced rear tires. Pirelli p zeros. Denver Maserati McLaren dealer sourced and installed. $740. Hit a pothole. Live in the mtns outside Denver. Blistered front tire. Dealer wanted to replace both tires. Bought a new pirelli from tire rack. Had shipped to Firestone near me. They installed it for $25. Unfortunately the tech wanted to see what all the fuss was about with Maserati and the Ferrari motor so he opened my new carbon hood. When closing hood he didn't line up the latch pin then proceeded to force it, bending u ring connecter on hood. Received hood open notification on dash on 5 mile trip home. Called Firestone and they deny the while thing.
    Here's the lesson:
    Spend your money wisely. Don't trip over a dollar to get to a nickel. What may seem like a viable go around May come back to drag your ass in the dirt.

    I had my 4 year service at a dealership 3 weeks ago. At the dealership they said 4 year is the most important and it included SPARK PLUGS, belts, flushes, etc. It was $2100. 3 weeks later my check engine light is on and it feels like the spark plugs are misfiring. I called and they said they DIDN'T do SPARK PLUGS. It's "not included" all of a sudden. And quoted me another $720 just for spark plugs. GAG!

    Hi Ron, that's a good insight and actually at circa $1500 i don't think that's too bad. I wonder how it stacks up in the UK as our service schedules are 12500 miles or every 24 months that means in my case it could be 8 years before I get to the fourth service as I only do around 6k miles per year...

    Step 1: DO NOT buy a Maserati from a Maserati dealer, buy used.
    Step 2: Get a powertrain warranty
    Step 3: Buy your own oil/filter, air filters, and spark plugs off Amazon and do it yourself OR take it to a shop that does customer provided parts.
    Step 4: Save money by completing steps 1-3 and DONT be this clown

Remember this is a maserati, not a Honda. Its not that bad, my mercedes costed just as much if not more.

    Hey Ron GM! $350 bucks for a simple oil change? Got to ask, probably a fixed cost for so many quarts (or liters) of standard oil & filter at a Maserati dealership (ie overhead) Are these consumables exclusively made for Maserati or can I purchase the same(equivalent) at Advance Auto too? Is the service quality any different than an oil change & filter at Jiffy Lub? Perhaps the more important question what's your posted mechanic's rate? As a student I use to work-part at a gas station. I can't imagine doing anything different than your service tech in a simple oil change? As a point of interest LINCOLN's Black Label vehicles have routine maintenance build-in upfront! Comments?

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Morning and yest pretty much. Its between 7.2 and 8.2 liters depending on the year and engine type. You can get the oil a few placed. Its penzoil 40wt or at least it was. Not sure if they've changed or upgraded in the last year. The filters you have to order from Maserati if you want to stay under warranty. They have to be authentic parts. I dont think the process is much different. Full synthetic oil will cost you, Maserati parts will cost you and labor. Forgot what the labor rate it but you get the gist lol.

    • @zapalskic
      @zapalskic 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can get the filter for 30 bucks. The oil is Ferrari Pennzoil, I pay 40 for that. So $70 bucks in parts. The filter is on the top, so it is very easy. I suck the oil out and fill. No need to even jack up the car.

      If you're debating on which pre-owned model year to get, the best year to start at in my opinion is the 2017 model. Thats when a few interior updates were done. A little more refined as well and more options added as opposed to the previous 2014-16 models. Good price used plus these models will still have a decent warranty on them.
