Yes there should! I realize MC hates me for this, but I love lanyards because I carry my knife in a very narrow and deep pocket. I’d definitely put an MC bead on a lanyard.
Mine just arrived today (11/22/2023). I have the one in green micarta. I'm really liking it so far. Sandvik 14C28N has been my favorite budget steel ever since my Real Steel and Ruike days two years ago. So happy this knife comes in that steel.
I swear we owned that exact couch when I was a kid. I love QSP's blade shapes...find myself drawn to wharncliffe blades more and more in my knife journey.
Same, really starting to like wharnies. I've got a hogue deka gen 2 I take to work everyday, and that tip is great for opening boxes and processing cardboard. ✌️🖖🤘
MC’s in quite a mood with this video 😂 frankly I love the unapologetic contentment with the way you like things to be. I love my routines and rituals. Keep being you, brother 💯
Picked up a qsp penguin with denim micarta scales from Eknives, and damn am I happy with the little thing ! First time stepping into the knife game , and I got a para 3 . Now, a week later, I got the penguin .. love them both ! Definitely want to get more qsp knives ..such good quality for the money !
My black/jade g10 QSP penguin is prob my most carried and used knife in the last year. Still love it and it has gotten so damn smooth! It's a pleasure to open and close.
Crazy enough, 14C28N is actually tougher than MOST premium/super steels. It’s around the same toughness as AEB-L (practically identical steels). AEB-L is a smidge tougher but, 14C28N has better edge retention (around S30V). The reason why 14C28N is so much cheaper than “premium” steels, is because it’s ingot metallurgy (cheaper to make) and there’s an abundance of it. It’d be nice to see Crucible make a new variation/composition of CPM-3V. Like a more stainless version that didn’t compromise any toughness but, compromised the ease of sharpening. Supposedly Larrin Thomas is going to make a new variation of MagnaCut down the road 👌. If I’m not mistaken, it’s going to be a little less stainless but, tougher and higher edge retention.
Almost pulled the trigger on this one, but went with Sencut Watauga because I liked the looks better and the lack of sharpening choil on Swordfish bothered me. Still, I will get it one day - to be more precise, when I'm better with sharpening ;)
Love everything about it besides that hump, same reason I haven't bought a spyderco it just looks bad in the closed position and carries much bigger than it has to.
Wouldn't this be considered a Seax blade shape? Seeing this on your channel shows the knife as a bit shorter and stockier than in the product photos. I've avoided this knife because I wasn't sure how it would look in the hand. This is why I appreciate your content!
I wonder how it compares to the QSP Penguin. I have two of those. Great value for money. The D2 steal is good enough and the price point reduces stress should I ever lose one.
the swordfish is sweet, I'll probably get one eventually, on that note I just ordered a penguin the other day. got the knife center exclusive in s35 just in time for Halloween, and an orange snaggletooth to match

When you say milwaukee fastback i know you mean the ones with the replaceable blades but damm i love the stupid one with a botton lock in the closed position and a liner lock in the open it's so dumb
I don't think that's necessarily the case; drop points are bar none the most popular/used blade shape overall. And with wharncliffe's and sheepsfoot designs having essentially the best overall shape and geometry for edc tasks (draw cuts, utility cuts, piercing packages, getting under tight zip-ties), they seem to be the popular choice and best option to go with when not using a drop point by default. Tanto's are usually too thick behind the edge and are typically inefficient utility cutters because of their higher primary tips; recurves and persians, although good for trapping material when slicing, are a nuisance for 90% of people to sharpen and maintain and also suffer from having higher, up-swept tips; and cleavers not too long ago were on anything and everything, and definitely had their time in the spot light. You just can't go wrong with the utility and function a good wharny or sheepsfoot provides.
@@elio6861that's going to happen to essentially any knife tip to some degree if you drop it. If you drop your knives that often, I guess you should steer clear
I continue watching and liking your work. I am not a fan of the comparisons to the ontario rats and other knives I am not familiar with. Tape measure or ruler tells me what I need. Comparison to another knife I have no experience with does not. Thank you.

There should be a titanium lanyard bead with the Metal Complex logo that we could put a lanyard on our Milwaukee fastback. Make it less boring 😆

+1 for MC bead to go with the MC knife
100% agree!!😂

my friends used to joke my 'bling' was the knives I carried. Was never into expensive clothes, shoes, or cars.

I have the grebe and the swordfish the only difference is the swordfish has nested liners. I personally like the grebe better in hand

Put it under a polisher and polish it it looks a hell of a lot better and feels a lot better
Does handle scale polish ever rub off with light hand use?
Dude! I LOVE burlap micarta. In fact, I wish the green micarta was burlap. Still, it will do.
9:39 I thought Hank Hill was about to sell me some propane and yell at bobby.

Have one and love it. The grandma couch micarta is so ugly it's kinda cool.
I'm going to ignore knives that don't have sharpening choils.
Thanks MC! ✌️

Its a cool blade
14:10 Midgard's raises their 'Fenris' and laughs at Cold Steel; No... this is a big "pocket" knife! 🤠👍
funny b/c I love burlap micarta when it's done well (meaning not smooth as glass) and I wouldn't buy slippery titanium/aluminum handles
I really like the look of this. My only concern is the tip. It just looks like it will snap off pretty easy.

Why has everything got a wharncliff or reverse tanto blade lately?

arent those tips too fragile?
Too fragile for what? Prying? Absolutely. Cutting/poking things a knife is made to cut and poke? Not at all
@@metal_complex i mean, id be damm scared of droping that on the ground, most embarrassing thing ever if it breaks
