The Canary is an absolute HOME RUN! I love it enough to buy a second one,,,which rarely happens. It will most likely get handed down to my son. The buttonlock Penguin is extremely blah….sounds like it has the standard mushy soft detent
Nice one. Ultem reminds me of amber. I like the slipjoint most, the finger choil. I have a QSP "Worker" and will buy another before they are gone. The slipjoint Penguin in CPM 20CV is available for well under $150. Good criticism and thorough.
Thanks for the heads up. I've been looking at the Penguin online all day, as suggested by a bunch in an FB page, was thinking of getting one. Those points you brought up would be big factors for me. Thanks for saving me the headache ✌🏻
QSP and bird knives go together like... well, I guess like Zero Tolerance and knives with four digit IDs starting in 0 (can you tell my creative writing teachers weren't impressed?)
I tend to wear alot of safety yellow shirts and have never found a knife close in color till the neon Canary. Just ordered one. Seems like a great deal for 14c28n with good build quality.
Im personally completely over the button lock craze, they just dont do it for me (coming from a guy who's been edc'ing a back lock)and the amount of failures on them is insane.
I like that ultem canary and have wanted them to bring a button lock or axis style Penguin since I got my Kaviso exclusive Penguin and Mini. I think I'll wait a bit on that BL, though. Maybe they'll have a 2nd gen that addresses the issues you mention. Thanks for the info!

Agreed!!
Only Penguin I’ve ever had is my Mini from Kaviso in Ti with Purp hardware. Very smooth and snappy. 💜✌🏼

Try stretching the spring to tighten up that detent 😊
I still can't get into the Ultem. Thanks for the review, man.
Very good info. Thanks for the vid Dood!
Thanks bro
Nice video😊
I might have to pick up a canary... I have the standard penguin but not a huge fan of it.
Nice one doody ✌️👌
Canary is the knife of the year in the budget range. Perfect edc knife, great steel for that price.
Couldn't agree more. I bought the button lock flipper penguin and the flipper tab absolutely blows. Fails all the time.
Yup
So iyo the titanium penguin far better than button lock one
1st comment. Love the videos. Keep em coming.
You get a gold star! ⭐️
I got a penguin recently, the red mic was cheap, but was underwhelmed given the hype. Like my parrot better. Canary , gotta have it.
Did that lanyard come on it?
Nope
