"It's always tough to be the last man standing..." Man, if that doesn't bring tears to your eyes... Miss you Liam. R.I.P. to the greatest ballad singer EVER....
At the age of 14 I won tickets to make and Clancy in Virginia , co Cavan....farmers ballroom. We sat in front row....hair on head 'n neck went needle like , I was Soaked in baptism of the power of music with soul at its core. 40 yrs later , and I'm eternally grateful to Liam and Tommy. May they both R.i.p.
Fantastic~! LOL.. Liam had an amazing sense of humour.. A wonderful man all round. How he is missed. I could listen to him speak all day, he holds me in awe.. RIP Liam.. God bless you
he was so talented and funny and still My favourite ballad singer. I loved the Clancy brothers and Tommy Makem and saw them many times in concert. I still play their LP's which I will treasure for ever
Class an ill never forget them lads i always play there music every time im in t pub or my friends homes i get them to play them tunes respect from a true true Irishman 💚
Great interview. Bah humbug to those dissing Ryan - I think he was fine. I saw Pat Kenny interview Liam when he published his autobiography and that was truly a horror show - no respect shown at all.
Well lads..could someone help me? The “John” fella Liam refers to in part one of this interview was actually my father. He dressed as a blue bunny on the show before Liam Clancy’s interview but I cannot find the video footage anywhere! I tried to get in contact with Rte about it a few years ago but didn’t get too far with it!
Whinger, the name of the song is "we want no Irish here"...if you search the term "We Want No Irish Here-Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem" on youtube, you can find the video
I grew up in era of the Clancy brothers and Tommy Makem. They were popular at home and away. They could be heard almost daily on numerous programmes back in the fifties well into the late sixties. May they receive the happiness they so deserve. RI P true legends.

Thank you Steve for your beautiful words. My Father & Grandparents are from Carrick. Therefore you will understand my love for the Clancy's

best ballad singer in world , my hero.
It’s a pity Liam wasn’t given a good interviewer. He could have talked for hours, and we’d have gotten some great wisdom.
He was some character
8:00 spot on. I wish he could have done the whole song.
One off the greats
Requiescat In Pace, Liam (1935 -- 2009)
There is not a day that passes that I do not listen to or view (video) a song performed by Liam!

Hmm. I don't think that's it, but thanks for trying to help me figure it out.
Did he say that someone tried to steal Tommy Makem's shoelaces? I understand the taking bits of the sweaters, but SHOELACES?
lol rap is just poetry. Some poetry is delivered better than others.
That Sheriff should have known better!
Go gcoinní Dia i mbos A láimhe thú.
RIP Willie
Liam is a class act but that host . . .
I am not familiar with the phrase he uses at 6:11. "Toting the" what? Does anyone know?
I believe it's "toting the guise"
Toten the gun. Meaning he was armed even though he was in a club
