I did this myself about 30 years ago ,
It was so easy and saved us alot of money ,
I used a staple gun ,new foam and New fabric .
They were so nice .

is the process the same if covering in Vinyl? Do you have any specific suggestions for using that material?

what if I need foam material as well? how do I cut/fit that?
You can get it at JoAnn’s and I recommend cutting it to shape then shaving the sides to create the curve/lip you want. Use the same spray adhesive to attach it to the chair.
