yahoo Amy, just discovered you and now I can dismantle and recover my vintage chrome office type chair, Im a guy and pretty well competent at all things construction and design but was totaly baffled on dismantling this chair, my artist daughter convinced me not to throw it out haha , as an added piece of history, I actually made the jigs and fixtures to manufacture the knowles wire Bertoir chair back in the 70s I manufactured 2000 of these chairs before being closed down b by the Thatcher government 3 day work week during the miners' strike in the UK just a bit of history, Im now attempting at retirement to reupholster different things to keep busy , I think you are very talented , theres nothing more satisfying than working with your hands to create something beautiful, you have acquired a new fan thank you very much Bill
My weekend just got better. I love watching and learning from you Amiee. Your new website and tutorial videos are just what I've been looking for. I've learnt so much from you, I can't recommend you highly enough. Those chairs looked amazing. As all your work does. Can't wait to carry on my Apprenticeship by following you. 👍
So im a dude in my mid 20s working on reupholstering a dining set and can’t thank you enough for your videos Even though this isn’t like the set I have, I pick up different tips and tricks from all your vids Thank you!!
Hi Aimee, I am a (50+ year old man), and I am a former commercial fisherman/lobsterman, and I found your videos while searching out if there were actually any specialized upholstery air tools, as I am looking at building some rugged, (yet cushioned), outdoor furniture. I will be using a heavy duty, white, 22oz., outdoor vinyl material from a company called billboard tarps. (It is some excellent stuff, I am currently using the 22oz. material as a waterproof roof covering for about 100 seasonal sunrooms that I build, set up, and take down at a local beachside RV parks). There were several tools that I have used in the past that I thought might be of some use to you in your upholstery business. First I wanted to recommend the Paslode brand of air tools, ( I do like their staplers). Like pliers, "nippers" (both small, and the very large ones) are a very handy tool. Burnishing tools used in making jewelry may also help (and be easier on your hands) as your pokey thing, One other tool that might have a use in your business is called a hog ring tool. I hope the info helps you out, and I wish you the best.
Well that's one attachment method I haven't seen. Great video. Question on your glue spray, can you just take off the bottle and store the unused glue in the jar? Do you need to thin the glue before using it in the spray gun.

Bravo Amy ! You gave us another great upholstery video. Always very educational and inspirational. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us 😁 Question: Can you also spray the fabric onto the foam before stapling to the board?
Hi, I’m starting upholstery myself. I just have a quick question how to measure fabric for a moon chair for a beginner like myself. It would be a very big help learning how much fabric i would need to start start upholstery from first time
As always, your videos are great! I'm working on a 60s "throne-like" chair. I removed the back and instead of webbing there was a curved piece of material inside for support. It was like thick cardboard, but not wood. It was brittle and cracked in a few places when I removed the staples. Do you know what this might have been and if there's something comparable to use? I am going to try to glue it back together, but in case it needs to be completely replaced, I'm not sure what to look for or even how I would get a new piece of material to curve. Any suggestions? Thanks for all you do!
I have recently acquired a Singer 201K sewing machine, as it is a straight stitch machine I'm assuming that it will be more than adequate for upholstery projects, am I right?
Love your vids! Question about your glue gun...how long between uses can you leave it before needing to cleaning it? Or what is your cleaning process for it?

Those are gorgeous chairs.
These chairs are designed by Nanna Ditzel. They're rosewood. Really lovely.
Could you do a video on how to calculate how much fabric you would need to cover round and oval lounges cushions. Please
Excellent, thank you ❤

It is stored in the jar, but I use a pin to keep the air hole open and clean. I don’t think the glue
