Hi, I've been checking out your reviews. I just recently ordered an Anker Soundcore Sport Xl . I was wondering, how does this compare with the Taotronics pulse-x, like for Bass performance? I need something portable that sounded good, and I like listening to Bass Trap, Ambient/Trance, industrial metal, metal, etc...
Can I use more than one Anker Bluetooth 4 Speak with the following: a 2015 MacBook Pro and my iMac is 2015 I am not too sure what Bluetooth 4 is. Thank you.

Which Anker bluetooth speaker has the best sound?
I own the Anker premium. The bluetooth connection sucks and the sound is too muffled to enjoy. If you can adjust the bands above around 2k+, then it is very nice: I cannot use it without the adjustments. It is loud and nice for those old cars that have stereos so old there's no BT or Aux jack. I have to wire it up, though, as the BT connection fails constantly with my LG Volt. It has good amount of bass for the size. I hope they fix the highs and BT connection and upgrade with some larger drivers: I think that would be pretty honest speaker to listen to.
My inlaws brought me this as a xmas gift. It is one of the best mobile speakers I have ever come across, despite people saying about its weight I don't agree its good weight which prevents it jumping around. I would certainly buy it if its what you are looking for.

Hey, great review! I am torn between this and the taotronics Boom X 20W speaker. The taotronics is about the same size, but is supposed to be 2x10W speakers, even though I read that this is misleading, and it's really 2x5W. Have you tested that by any chance? Would one be noticeably louder than the other? Thanks
EDIT: found the review I mentioned: "I hate companies that mislead customers and here is a case in point. The Taotronics 20W Boom X is exactly the same speaker as the PSYC Monic and the Anker A3143, the only difference between the three speaker is the appearance of the enclosure. All three speakers are 2 x 5 watts, not 20w
as they would have you believe. Further more this speaker contains a 2000mah battery (2 x 3.7 Volt, 2000mah batteries wired in series = 7.4 Volts at 2000mah) not 4000mah as claimed in the advert. All three speakers have the awful startup sound and all three have the same distortion in the upper midrange."

Thinking of buy this. To anyone who already has this speaker, please let me know what you think of the sound quality? I'm mainly going to be using my new Bluetooth speaker for mostly seshing in my washrooms, bedrooms and occasionally on my friends roof

Hey Adam - should I get the XL or the regular Soundcore? I dont think i'll be using it near water or anything so waterproofing isnt important. Im leaning towards the Soundcore for it's 24-hour battery life. Thoughts?

DJ Everest Ok interesting to know so thanks for the feedback. I already bought the soundcore though as amazon had a deal for it for £30 and I'm very happy with the quality for the price. The bass isn't as strong as my friends' £170 bose portable speaker but apart from that no regrets
You missed something VERY IMPORTANT, this speaker also has a built-in power bank, which is why it's so heavy. It has a large battery, which Anker specializes in, power banks. You can charge your phone or other small devices by plugging in to this speaker, instead of carrying around an additional power bank.

Mine wasn't so waterproof, dropped it in 1ft of water for less than a minute. Didn't work afterwards. The cover for the ports was seated securely. Reading the product info right on Amazon it's supposed to be waterproof up to 1m deep for up to 30 minutes. Maybe I got a defective one.
nothanksgoogleplus I've dropped mine in 3ft of water and it still works well. I also take it on river trips and it pretty much stays wet. The only problem is you do have to give it time for the speaker to kick out water that gets trapped between the grill.

what are the ports like? Do anker have a history of connectors going dodgy?
I've been buying anker for years an they are quality products. they also are very good with their warranty.

is it recomendable for car use? we have a golf 5, and no aux or usb ports :/... just need semi decent sound for the car, the 16 watts this one has is definitely dope for normal use

why no soundtest of the speaker so we can hear it ourselves?
Recording a speaker and then playing it on your own speakers to hear 'what the speaker sounds like'. That's not how it works.
It doesn't sound the same when you're watching it on video than when it's in front of you like the Anker premium for example you'll hear more bass when it's in front of you than when it's on video
yeah, but anyway it would be better with a soundtest :P

it has a mic in the bottom left hand corner and I believe you can answer a call using the play/pause button
