How to convert your F30 from XDRIVE to RWD with the ALL NEW XHP XDelete! (F30, F32, F3x)

- Hey Everyone,
We are SUPER excited for today's modification! As you'll see in the video, it's now possible to convert your xDrive car to be Rear Wheel Drive, with SOFTWARE! Now, xDelete isn't new.. in fact, it's been used on E series for a while, but it's JUST been released for our F series cars and man, is it fun!
xDelete is developed for flashing xDrive-Systems in BMW vehicles. It won’t connect nor operate on other vehicle brands using similar AWD drive-trains. From the start (App-Version 1.0.0, Dec. 2018) xDelete will support 3-Series (E90, E91, E92), 5-Series (E60, E61), X5 E70 and X6 E71, as well as X5M/E70 and X6M/E71 (E70/E71 only with 6-Speed Auto). Later updates will add support for FSeries BMW and eventually E53 X5 and E83 X3.

For anyone skeptical about xDelete, I am here to reassure you since I have owned it for a while now on my E90 335i.
Is it safe for our AWD car to run fully RWD? Absolutly, our cars have the exact same structure as the RWD cars but with the added front axle and transfer case. This basically means that hardware wise, the rear differential and rear components is exactly the same, so you can run the flash no problem.
Can the flash fail? The flash can fail if it is ever interrupted BUT in no way can it brick the TCU (Transmission control unit). This means that whatever happens during the flash, you will always be able to fix it easily by re-flashing.
What happens when you flash? Our cars have a transfer case. This mechanism is made to receives some information and split the torque received from the drive train between the front and rear axle. xDrive is already a rear-biased system, meaning it sends more torque to the back wheels than the front. We are typically looking at around 30% Torque to the front to 70% Torque to the back. Well imagine telling the transfer case to totally disengage in order to send 100% of the torque to the real axle. Well that is what happens when you flash with xDelete.
Im not 100% sure but only m performance models has 71% tq rear and 29%tq front, normal xdrive bmw has 61/39%. Nevermind xdelete would bee good for every car that s compatible

@@bolitedando5307he diff is not any weaker in a AWD car. for example 530d and 530xd will have the exact same rear diff. it won't be destroyed any easier than a RWD from the factory .
Hey bryan, can you post some videos on maintenance especially for high mileage F30, such as transmission and timing chain. These vehicles are known to have timing chain problems esp pre 2015 models right?

Okay, here's my question. I run 245/35/19 in front and 275/30/19 in the rear, on my E90. Will I destroy the x-drive putting these on the f30(didn't looked if it fit at first)

Hey Bryan! After you switched to xdelete did you keep your xhp custom launch setting?
How about a warranty? Do I lose one after custom flashing? Probably dealership can see last modification date of esys/ecu files and find out there were some modifications done. Also i think there is some counter of total esys/ecu modifications and if that number does not match the number of visits at the dealership they might find out there were some mods... am i right?
This would be crazy mad awesome if this feature could be programmed to some other button press combination! ...regarding the F90 M5,...."it litterally has a 'button' where you can switch from AWD to RWD!",..... I wonder if once add a "30 amp relay/switch" setup to interrupt the "power",...or "ground" for the XDrive AWD,....essentially, if the power that activated the Clutches for the Front Diff was interrupted, then the car would essentially be a RWD BMW! Hmmm....
Can you make sport mode rwd, and comfort mode awd so you can switch on the go without flashing every time?

Is the body and frame of an awd the same as a rwd? Asking cause i have a rwd manual and interested if there is room underneath to swap the awd components.
Front diff blew up, Removed the front axles and unplugged the transfer case and now my car is in limp mode. Only went into limp mode after removing the axle

I purchase the XDelete license, and when i try to configure RWD, with airplane mode and all desable, IP address correct, show-me a error that say, turn ignition on, but I already have the ignition on! What can be this?

Recently I started getting this weird noise like a grinding/rubbing noise from my passenger footwell in ONLY 6th and 7th gear at 1100-1300 RPM also wasn't consistent either tho, BUT I figured out that it was getting caused by XDelete, did some testing and when I switched back to AWD that sound was gone and when I went back to RWD it was back. If I am wrong please correct me I would like to see what the issue is unless if it's always been like that and I just realized that sound.
I’ve been having this problem with my car but it’s in all gears between 1000-3000 RPM. Figured out it’s my transfer box and when it was disconnected the noise when away so probably something to do with that

Kinda... You pay more for xDrive and I think it's about +200lbs on weight. If you're never going to use AWD, just buy RWD.

The xdrive system doesn’t come with an LSD so does the brake system slow a wheel to get them both spinning. Will I be able to kick it out or is it a 1 tire fire? I wanna slide it

Almost all awd systems come without a rear lsd. But that can be optional or standard on some models (like on m5 for example, or alfa romeo julia qv)

Is anyone try this system? I got f22 m240i xdrive. I can’t fully turn off dtc/dsc system even pressing traction button 10 seconds. In the cluster shows turned off but car always activating traction. On both mode xdrive or rwd (xdelete) dowsnt matter.
When you turn on Sports mode. Does it not automatically turn off X drive mode? I heard this on the internet but not 100% sure does anyone knows?

First off, xDelete affects the TCU while BM3 affects the ECU. Also, even if they both were programming the ECU, there shouldn’t be any complications.

Hey Brian, I just got xdelete today, I installed it but for some reason my cars traction control blinks in comfort mode when I give it 80% throttle or more and it starts to cut power like it’s losing grip but this is on the freeway too and the car has full traction but the car thinks it does not, by any chance have you heard or had experience with this if you might know what the issue could be?
I think its still slipping and the traction control system might be more sensitive for our Xdrives because that small amount of slip is considered alot in the mind of the xdrive computer

What happens if you’re running MHD tune? Does it mess with the tune? Do you have to retune it? Does a tune overwrite xdelete?
I believe it should work just fine, as the MHD tune is not flashing the same system as xDelete does, it's an entirely different computer component. (I forget the exact acronyms but one relates to engine management, and the other is the diffs and transfer case)
