Great Video Tip: I would put a micro fiber cloth to cover the steering wheel just to protect the leather wheel from getting scratched from the cluster.
3 years later I’ve finely my own f30 330D (2018) first BWM after killing my old Ford Focus with 460 000km. And my first mod on it will be this amazing cluster and m3 led steering wheel
It's a cool feature to have if you own a e85 z4 like me but it's a bit much for newer BMW cars. I can see why someone with an older car would want digital but the newer BMW cars are fancy enough. Analog will always work best in my opinion. The less tech you have, the less it breaks. Mechanical things are just easier to fix.
After the coding, does the cluster show the cars actual mileage? As I like the idea of this, but don't want to be accused of clocking it at a later date. Cheers.

Personally, I don't dig this digital display mumbo jumbo in a car, which should provide pleasure while driving. Gauges have that special something when it comes to looks inside sporty cars.
The gauges in a car mist remain old fashioned to me. They are a piece of craftsmanship on expensive cars. All virtual gauges are cheaply to manufacture and will always look fake
Do you make them for a 1987 Lada Riviera sport? It's got analogue gauges which really detracts from the futuristic styling of this car. These gauges will really be the cream on the top of what is already a stunning motor vehicle.

hugo chen I’d take a 6 cylinder anyway over a 4. Insurance will be high for both cars since it’s a BMW, and you’re 16 so probably around $7000/yr. That would be where most of the annual cost is, not the negligible $300 you’d save per year by buying a 4 cylinder BMW. I’m looking at a 2017 G30 530d as my next car, but I’ll need to wait till I’m 22 for insurance to be good for any BMW (I’d have 6 yrs of driving experience then). My old highschool friends who did buy BMWs straight away (one bought a F10 525i, and another a E34 525i) all pay ludicrous amounts of insurance. They’ve also paid more for repairs in a single year than I have paid for fuel + maintenance/repairs since I bought my 2016 FGX Falcon XR6 new when I was 17. When I started driving, it cost $1600/yr to insure my car worth $35,000 AUD with full comprehensive + no excess windscreen cover, it cost the dude who bought the $25,000 F10 $5000/yr for the very same insurance without windscreen cover. My neighbours own a F15 X5 xDrive30d, a F10 LCI 535d in addition to other luxury cars, and they pay $2000/yr for full comp with all options as a point of reference.

Hey Brian, I am interested in putting this cluster in my 2013 335xi, the installation part isn't what I'm worried about, it's the coding part. I went down to my local BMW dealership and first of they didn't know this cluster and second they weren't very convincing about knowing how to code the car for it. Im in the boston mass area, is there any one near by or that could do it remotely if I grab this thing off ebay(found one for just under a $1000.00) it's very similar to the cluster in my challenger, and would love to have that eye candy in my commuter. You make by far the best DIY videos on BMWs that I have seen on yt and one of the main reasons I bought my car (never drove a beamer before and was nervous about working on it- you at least gave me confidence to not be afraid of turning a wrench on this thing) Thanks

What's wrong with the analogue cluster. Seems like just another thing to break. The standard dials have been tried and tested. Still looks good to me.
I have yet to see a digital cluster to fail. These aren't your cheap aftermarket solutions.
Well digital cluster indicates oil temp so that alone is worth not having to add an aftermarket gauge that isn’t included into the dashboard
