I started playing again at 32 yo after stopping altogether at 19 and I realised how much I've improved in the last 4 years (I'm 36) and how much better I would have been with a different mentality when younger. these are literally all a waste of time. I see this being taught repeatedly and imo its silly. Shooting on a side of a hoop or on a line does not actually help with the trajectory and mental component needed to hit a shot on a 10 foot rim.
I'm gonna write this comment in the hopes that some young guy reads this: Shooting is essentially about ensuring the power comes from your legs. The way to ensure the power comes from your legs is to always move the arms to the pocket slightly before you jump with your legs. This way the power will come as your extending to shoot. The elbow should be tucked in and the wrists should flick towards the rim. The main thing to always remember: Legs (your jump) are what drive the ball, not your arms. The arm and wrist is for aiming and as long as you flick and have the elbow not too flared out it will be on target every time. That's it.
Actually once you understand this you dont need to even warm up much. I avg 6 threes a game in my mens league at 32 and I couldnt hit a single three for 10 years before that unless it was in warm ups.

Thanks man! I’m 27 and never played organized basketball but am finding peace in shooting hoops at my local park. It’s still great but a little frustrating when I miss a ton of shots and since I never had a coach, I didn’t know about any of these drills. My biggest flaw (in basketball) is how inconsistent my shot placement is (usually wide right) so that first drill is gonna be a game changer in making sure I’m consistently placing the ball in a straight line!

10 is nice. I make 3 in a row at below the rim and take a step back and continue until I am at the line, then will shot 30 or so (not in a row) then I do around the world, again make 3 from every spot on the key, then I redo that around the world a step back until I finish at the 3. Every now and then in between when my arm is getting tired I make some left hand layups to break up the jump shooting, then when I think I have my shot dialed I will extend it to 3 point line and just try long bombs until my legs can't take it any more. usually like to finish on 2 made baskets in a row to feel good going home.

Said all the campers were sitting around the court and jerry went through his daily shooting routine. Said he started under the goal and talked about rust flip and then moved back to the free throw and then all around the court until he got to half court. Said he talked for 20 minutes and never missed a shot out of 100+ shots. And at the end of it he said “and none of what I said right now mean shit if you don’t do what i just did every day. “

For everyone wanting know the specific term used for this in professional circles its called "grooving the shot". Starting the basket one handed, make 3 in a row from 5 angles take a step back swish 3 more from 5 angles and repeat until at 3 point line. Then work your way back in. Always take a step back in if you miss more than two consecutive shots.

IF YOU MISS, you gotta move in a spot and START OVER (10 in a row). Helps develop touch and shooting mechanics. Gets ya shot real feathery

Always. I'll do some stretching and light cardio like dribbling, layups and floaters, pull-up jumpers(just for the dribble part), etc. I always brick/airball and suck ass for the first 10-15 minutes of any session.
It's actually fun because I frequently get picked last or have to hop on to a team of lesser ballers, and they'll actually pass the ball. You make a 3, then 2, then they'll all just keep feeding you. It's also an amazing feeling to carry a bad team, and get one of your teammates the winning bucket. Like how often do they get to finish games, yanno?
I don't like the pressure or the boredom(5 ball dominant players) of being on the better team.

The problem with this comment section isn’t that it consists of a bunch of sheepish, incel-types, who blindly follow a misguided philosophy of women-hating red-pill ideas; it’s that they’re too dumb to understand the dichotomy of having different attitudes towards sex and relationships at different stages of your life.
She clearly states that her goal is to help people find meaningful, lasting, substantive relationship’s AFTER one has emotionally matured enough to want that.
I haven’t watched the whole video, but this video popped up in my feed based on some other video I watched of her, and she clearly explains that, if you just want to have fun and explore your sexuality, her approach to relationships, delaying the first kiss, etc … is completely out the window.
She literally stresses that if you feel the need to explore your sexuality and be young, have fun, and experience different people … that is healthy and necessary for many people, and it should occur BEFORE you try her approach to dating to find a partner.
Her past as a young stripper is an example she uses from her past where she was interested in having many different sexual experiences, and it was necessary for her to get that out of her system before considering a long term relationship.
But anyone old enough and wise enough (and sober enough to know better), realizes that her idea of making a guy, or a relationship, wait before kissing and sexual contact (she encourages touching, cuddling, hand holding, closeness throughout that time btw) or consummation is by faaaaaaarrrrr the best way to cultivate a genuine, lasting relationship. I don’t know if it has to be the exact time period of 90 days, strictly, but delaying that overtly sexual contact, and then sexual inter course, is rock solid advice. If that is unthinkable to you, you aren’t ready for a committed, long term relationship, which she would agree is completely fine. But she is preaching to people who DO want that long term, marriage partner type of relationship, so that waiting process (it used to be called “courtship”) is essential in weeding out inappropriate candidates who aren’t at the same level psychologically, emotionally, and maturity-wise.
It’s not that hard to understand … if you’re not an idiot who hates women.

You should also talk about "Aim point" Aim small, miss small. also, practice shooting at game speed. Most people practice shooting with a low heart rate. You have to practice like game speed as best you can
