I know Miami had lost 31-7 to VaTech in 03, but the canes outgained them and it was classic BeamerBall with 2 unusual scores. Even other losses, the Canes lost close. This? Different story.
LSU’s 2019 receiving core is rightfully recognized as an all time great unit, but this one? Dwayne Bowe, Devery Henderson, Buster Davis, Early Doucet, Brandon Lafell and Skyler Green, this was the unit that helped start that tradition… and don’t even get me started about the defense 💯
Fun LSU fact. 1st time in history of NFL draft a team had QB and 2 WRs drafted 1st round in same draft. russell - bowe and davis. Tigers about to do it again.
Another fact, LSU destroyed Miami this day with a backup QB, a backup who would eventually become one of the greatest QBs in school history sure, but a backup nonetheless. Had this happened in modern times, Miami gets clowned on the internet with memes all summer. I’m fairly confident had Jamarcus played, LSU would’ve done to Miami what they did to Oklahoma in 2019, but with an even stouter defense.
Yup, UM was just about even with LSU skills position wise, but the big difference was the trenches, lsu was much bigger and more talented than the u was along the line of scrimmage. Plus playing in a much more difficult conference helped as well.
This game exposed many underlying problems in the Miami program. Discipline was gone, player development was faltering and coaching was suspect. Coker's seat was hot here and next year it was on fire
"A Southern-style Peach Bowl" matchup between Miami (FL) and LSU, but, did the Hurricanes football team win back-to-back Peach Bowls at the old Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA in 2005?
I know Miami had lost 31-7 to VaTech in 03, but the canes outgained them and it was classic BeamerBall 2 unusual scores. Even other losses, the Canes lost close. This? Different story.
this was a preview to the national title run the following year Miami isn't any good anymore like they were in the old days they were great in their eighties and early nineties but just like Florida State and Nebraska they're really nobody's anymore what the hell happened to their recruiting who knows
Lmao lsu just lost to fsu and finished with ten years what a dumb attempt to put us with Nebraska and Miami fsu has multiple orange bowl wins a natty hiesman winner and multiple conference chips have fun losing to fsu again in 6 months
This game was end of the line for the U part 2.

Ohio State took the life out of the Miami program in the 03 Fiesta Bowl. LSU finished the job this evening

The teams from 2004-2006 was very loaded. They should have been a dynasty.

@@bJT42No, not at all.
The day my canes died
The day Hester found out what a really good kickoff team and defense looked like and the day canes football died!
This is where the U started to really fall off
This is where they died.
True

Love watching Miami lose big games! 😆
You won't see blocks like that to much anymore 16:03

Louisiana is just flat out different
Miami hasn’t been the same since
Heading to the Last Day of 2005 on My Cousin Sweety's 20th Birthday before the Murder of a Richmond Family of Four in Richmond, Virginia.
2005 the worst Hurricane to make landfall on the Gulf Coast cost Louisiana plenty. LSU took it out on these Hurricanes...
So glad I'm not "U".
GEAUX Tigers!!

Ten wins
Nah, LSU let Russell lose the 2005 season against Auburn before Flynn took back over.
@jerredcurtin You're right. Florida State is nowhere near as good as Miami and Nebraska. Keep it Crabby.
