Started my level 1 Electricians course today. Feels strange being a 19 year old in a college full of 16/17 year olds lol, but i get a feeling im really going to enjoy learning the trade.
Want a be electricians can definitely try your patience. Semi retired electrician Meriden, Kansas. 53 years experience and have seen a lot of this. Don't ever say you've seen it all. Have a great day. Your quality is very good the way it should be.
Great video Nick. Cant wait to see Adams board change. I start my training at the end of this month, Thanks for the advice the other week it really helped.
Just a small tip, when your drilling a 4inch hole ,if your drill has a side handle use it ,even though it's a battery drill,I learnt the hard way ,when drilling I hit a brick tie nearly broke my arm ,another great vid
I hit a tie using a proper Coring drill with a long side handle, while bent over under a kitchen worktop coring out for a Tumble dryer. The bit jammed, drill carried on going (no clutch) handle span around and broke my nose lol
@@tww5719 It was years ago, The company I was working for had hired it for a day but I pinched it to use overnight without them knowing, it had to be back first thing in the morning so I had to finish the hole off with the busted nose, dripping loads of blood everywhere before I could go to the Hospital. Double skinned engineering bricks so took about half an hour ! I just use my sds drill with a clutch now its easier, I do use the small side handle as its easier to hold central.

I try and make sure everything is powered up on first fix then you know if a cable gets snagged. Plasterer or kitchen fitters will go bang.

You should get the plaster person to repay you for the new materials you used also if I was you I would have a chat with customers about the new location of the switches to see if they where told
So you can stack one hoover on top of another for more power or was it to collect more dust? Does it have power take off, or is that not needed as all your tools are battery powered?

At least you had a better day than me. I went through a 35mm hot water pipe yesterday with an electric saw. You cannot imagine the sheer panic and racing round switching taps on to drain the tank and other taps off to stop the flow LOL. In my defence the pipe was extremely poorly placed under a floorboard.
Sometimes power tools are not handy, have always used a small gemi and hammer, unless it's chip board then yes they are handy ,but it's pot luck if you hit a pipe,if the Plummers had chopped the joist at a decent depth it wouldn't have happened so blame the Plummer .
This is why my boss used to encourage me to take photos before, during and after anything we did ("take what you think is way too many photos, then take a couple more") - nothing worse than a bit of on-site pantomime "oh yes you did" "oh no I didn't" 😅
What’s with you guys all using the installation pliers ? They don’t have snips at the end because of the long nose section so how do you strip twin and earth cable with them ? No use to me I rarely need pliers so do it all with the CK combi type seems like a fad to me ..
Hmm I could mention sparkys running network points in burglar alarm cable or Cat 5 stapled down..we see the stupids in all our trades. Personally if asked to redo the switches "someone" else has fucked up, then it gets charged for and the cost of a re-certifying that circuit. Only way they learn. Love the filming n banter..Will Adam have his own camera you think one day?
Bang out of order what the plasterer did there. Moving them side by side surely made plastering more difficult? Never gonna work well having second fix before plastering but if that's what the client asked for you did what you needed to
"Someone" has told the plasterers to shift those boxes. No plasterer I've ever met would do that off their own bat. Lucky if they clean the boxes out at all.
All trades piss each other off at some point. Had a security installer changing some access control. The lazy Muppet snagged is cable on a VESDA air sensor. VESDA goes into alarm and he doesn't even notice the bells and lights. Lucky for him my offsider and I hit the inhibit switch before he gets dosed with inert gas. He claimed he didn't do it. He stopped when he was shown his telecom cable pinching the VESDA air line. Needless to say his boss wasn't happy to pay for the fix.
