If you feel worried about The Lion King's hyena controversy, then this show may be good for you. It's a Hanna Barbera's animated series from 1960s about lion and hyena being best friends. Hardy Har Har is a friendly hyena, however he has depression. Note that the show was made when a problem of depression wasn't taken as seriously as today.

I don't think Jiminy Cricket and Woody Woodpecker are forgotten. If there's a forgotten Disney character then it's Timothy Q. Mouse from Dumbo. And if there's an another classic cartoon characters that has been forgotten, which is not by Disney, then it's Flip the Frog. And does actually no one remember Charley and Mimmo? He’s responsible for creating shorts such as The Great Piggy Bank Robbery starring Daffy Duck and A Tale of Two Kitties, the very first cartoon of Tweety Bird but without feathers since he’s just been hatched.
