Sometimes the trauma shocks the victim so much that they freeze. Especially when young everything seems blurry not completely black and white. As you mature you see the lines more clearly and you realize it was wrong. She didn't like what happened to her she knew it was awful but victims in the current moment of sexual abuse, harassment, assault can feel frighten that the man might physically hurt her. There are various reasons victims of ANY violence will be silent for a while after the event. Especially when men can easily hit you if you did anything to piss them off...

Has anybody ever thought that maybe they don't come forward straight away not because of money but because of people comments below. Who cares that she bares her body, the fact is that this person did this to her and possibly others and they feel threatened or scared of all the prejudice to come forward but because there is now a huge support system with other woman she now feels safe enough to be able to tell others. Yes there are others out there who are most likely unfortunately using this opportunity to make up claims to try and get recognition but I think Kate's story is true and is brave for telling her story now.
