Jason Sudeikis over here running a masterclass on how to add tremendous value to a sketch in a background supporting role. BRILLIANT.
I am studying these moves because I need them in my bag of tricks. They really should've done a whole spinoff series on this character.

I've now watched every version of "What Up With That?" And I find it absolutely amazing that an eight-minute sketch that is at least 50% the exact same every single time can be so very consistently funny. Kenan Thompson and Jason Sudekis make such a deep physical commitment to it every time. I think that's the secret. Plus, Kenan may be the funniest man on earth.
He is soooo charming and likable ... always. He may be one of the "all-time greats".
It's so weirdly specific each time, meaning that you get enough variation each time within a formulaic sketch

He’s not surprised at the rhyme it’s at the beat building up and him getting hyped. It’s a parody of a lot of characters namely the former preacher turned failed musician. He just loves singing his own theme song bc he wrote it, like Uncle Rico if he were a choir member lol

He's a comic genius. Impeccable timing and delivery. So versatile.
My goodness, Jason flying out on the stage never gets old! He never breaks character while switching dance moves. Fred Armisen is always on time with the sax riff. Hader is just classic funny with that disappointed-angry to happy-forgiveness change-over look, without saying a word. Keenan is a master comedy sketch artist, the years he put in at Nickelodeon, and SNL forged his craft into greatness. I love going back to re-watch these because it's just that damn good. Shout out to Maya! I'll watch anything she's in, this woman is so underrated.

"Well, we outta time." I can't believe they get real celebs to do this. Their disapproving reactions look authentic, as if they expected something else to happen. Keenan is ridiculously funny.
You can tell Oh-Really? was genuinely weirded out at getting interrupted by more singing and dancing. He completely forgot to tap his foot in pseudo-rythm, but just sat there looking small and alone. I really enjoyed this episode, I got to say.
Every episode of "What's Up With That" is hilarious! I crack up everytime 😂 No one gets a chance to talk, and they always run outta time. It's the same thing everytime but always funny. Classic

The best one was when they had Ernest Borgnine as one of the guests on this sketch. He had no fucking clue what was happening and he was having the time of his damn life. I've never seen a person so confused and genuinely happy at the same time. It was beautiful.

I've watched SNL since it's first episode in 1975. There have been hundreds of stellar recurrent sketches and characters in 44 years but I honestly think this is my favorite. Keenan is an amazing talent and Jason steals the spotlight every time.

So glad that Kenan Thompson has been on SNL during my lifetime. He's such a national comedic treasure. Not to mention Maya...she has made me laugh throughout a good portion of my adult life!

Keenan seems like he's just happy. When I was a kid he had his own sketch comedy show as a kid. He has stuck with his gift. That's why he's so funny and happy on SNL for mad years. I love him!!!!
