My entire editing team moved over to Davinci Resolve around 2019. It was a tough switch, but something that we realised we had to make, mostly for workflow. The pricing model of Resolve is really competitive as well, when it's just a one time payment as opposed to a subscription model. However, the issue is that a lot of agencies and companies give us Photoshop or Illustrator files, which makes it hard to exit that ecosystem. After Effects is also an industry standard when it comes to motion graphics, and a huge amount of templates are for AE as well. The good thing is that we've managed to reduce the number of Adobe subscriptions, but it's hard to totally do away with Adobe.
I left Adobe as soon as they changed to the subscription model. I only used Lightroom. Now I have Capture One (that still can be bought to own, often with substantial offers) and the Affinity Suite. For a hobby photographer on a budget, Adobe is simply too expensive.
You are absolutely rights. Adobe is not affordable anymore and looking for alternatives already. DaVinci Resolve is my favorite video editing application.
God I hope so... $20( nz$) month just gives me Lightroom now ( I used to get Photoshop lite) but I refuse to cancel and get charged for it! Fffuuuuuuu........!!! Btw, I once bought a perpetual license for imageline FL studio producer, with a couple of plugins.... Nearly 20 years later, at anytime, I still have that licence! It works! .....
@johnthevideoguy yup, cost me $300 nzd, in 2005, and to this day they have survived and honored that deal. Countless times I have just needed my email to activate my trial licence and download the plugins.
I agree with you on most things, but the hidden cancellation bothers me the most. Only if you cancel will you know. With all the rapid advancements in AI, I think Adobe has a hard time keeping up.
I refuse to purchase any software that does not offer a perpetual license, and if nobody has any software to compete with them, I crack their software with the sole intent to steal their software for my benefit. I will continue to crack software like Photoshop, Substance Painter, and Zbrush. If you want me to stop cracking your software and pay for it, give me perpetual licenses again.
they didnt revise anything, just because they got access to your content (thats on their cloud mind u, not local on your machine) never meant they use it to train AI. it was just to monitor illegal activity such as counterfeit money and stuff. they had to clarify this in the later statement because people like you will just assume shit.
I've been with Abobe since PS ver.4 LOL All the adobe software I've owned over the years!! You're probably too young to remember the Master Suite days LOL If they come down in pricing I think they will get a larger amount of people back or allow ala carte pricing for the customer needs. A majority of people don't need PR, AE, AU or Animate. I personally use a majority of the programs PS, AI, ID, AE, PR... When the pandemic hit I tried to see what the other programs we're like, Affinity mostly. I didn't like it, I guess adobe is too ingrained..LOL
If you look at it as the primary thing that DaVinci doesn't do is "be Premiere", things get a lot easier when it comes to choosing. If what you need from your software is for it to "be Premiere", then you have your answer.
Well, for starters, Color Grading is undeniably way, way more advanced than that tiny bit off color correction tools you have in Premiere. Than you have better audio tools than you can find in premiere, davanci is basically a DAW. and than you have a full featured node based Compositor in Davinci. And that all for free, too. That's all without any additional plugins. In the adobe universe that's at least three whole different programms . And Davinci also seems to be better optimized...
@@DTheName oh for sure! I'm all for davinci. I'm just not sure about all the stuff premiere has that DR doesn't. Other than the music remix tool which I do miss. That and all the plugins, but that's not *actually* adobe

I remember 2019 it was extremely hard to cancel the licence.... I was truly disgusted. Had to pay for something I didnt need.
Good topic.. good discussion points.

Hot take: if you are a "creative" that needs Adobe software to be "creative" you aren't creative.

5.12 - there are also 'a lot' of things in Premiere that DaVinci doesn't do or have. But we never talk about those things...

I hate Adobe
Are you nuts, Adobe is pushing the future...it's ai is insane....Adobe for the win..
LOL, some people feel differently. Thanks for sharing! 😊
They’re a scummy company though, and their AI is flawed.
I disagree 100%. The most advanced ai out there. They are the leaders.
