nice boat!!!! don't listen to the negative people.. you can do this! 4 years ago i also bought a catamaran everybody said was garbage. now they all wish they owned her. the best part is that by the time you finish her you will be one with that boat. you will know every square inch of her. keep going and don't give up. but be a little nicer to her. boats are girls and need to be treated tenderly and with care. give her love and she will give you love back. good luck
I have to hand it to you. You're more optimistic than we are. We love a good project and all. Well we hope it all works out well for you. Not sure about the mast, what was the plan there? Hang in there, its a big project but not impossible by any means. Money and time can fix almost anything boat related.
The mast is probably in ok shape even after falling. The shrouds (on sides) and stay (forward) along with their turnbuckles are probably corroded and will need to be replaced as they are what hold up the mast and resist wind pressure. Count on getting 304/316 SS wire cable and doing the work yourself. There is a simple formula for the amount of tension put on stays and shrouds- google it. Front crossbeam, forward bulkhead and aft bulkhead need to be looked at/inspected as these are the 3 components that keep the 2 hulls stiff. The forward bulkhead resists the considerable downward pressure from the mast. You'll be needing some epoxy and fiberglass- look for brands other than West for budget sake, and there are online sites for fiberglass cloth. As far as propulsion consider outboards with drop down motor brackets. If this uses inboard engine with transmission- diesel is best but expensive. For a very inexpensive inboard replacement take a look at fellow youtuber Tuck and Lillibet who used a $350 13 hp air cooled Harbor Freight gas engine for their 30' sailboat. Good luck...
My boatyard does lift out and mast removal as one crane operation. They require me to have disconnected the electrics and slackened the standing rigging beforehand.

Lol. Thanks again for the great content. I have a whoooole new appreciation for the time and care it takes to create these episodes!
Thanks for your message! Had a look at your Channel looks awesome, that’s a lot of work going through all the different yachts. Looking forward to seeing which one you will choose!
I feel bad for you but a few people gave you good advice Spend no more money and learn you seem like a nice guy that got taken. Save your money and take time to learn some thing about Boats, plywood, fiberglass and motors. And then look for some thing that you think might work, AND THEN ASK A SURVEYOR TO LOOK. Then if it fits your budget go for it. That boat might have been workable if you had planed to just make it an outboard, but with the condition of the plywood and fiberglass the structure is not there.
Dropping/ raising masts, not difficult. The side stays need to be slightly lose. The trick is that they need a pivot point in line with the pivot point on the mast base. This can be done by making up temporary short fore / aft stays to the main side stay at this point. If you are making new stays, include a junction at this point.
This must be free boat and even at that zero dollar, it still very expensive. You'll be quicker building one from a scratch 😅. Sorry that thing is a scrap, not worth my time. Please don't insult our intelligence by telling us you paid six grand for that pile of ...
Definitely get some professional advice. It may be better to sell it for scrap. Sorry but it costs a lot to renovate boats. First thing to do is clear out interior of everything. Then pressure wash entire boat . Next get professional to advise on next step . Be mentally prepared to scrap it if advised.
Slap it together with as little cost possible sail it for a year close to shore ... sink before you need to spend more than $2,000. on a single repair after that year of fun sailing it. I hope you find sunken treasure while you are sailing it. ,,,,,,,,,,
Crane hire to remove the mast would have been a great idea mate! Now youre going to have to examine that mast REALLY carefully for CRACKS..as well as corrosion. I grew up in a boat yard working there.
such unwise idea, even a super condition boat is a pit of money, and usually not wrth any invest, but this is not a boat anymore and even free it is not a gift. In fact, if you picked it up for free you would still have made a very big gift to the "owner". Drop this asap, it belongs to scrap, at least did not lost much yet.
I'm sorry to say, but from your video it looks like that boat is full of dry rot. It's a disaster waiting to happen. Do yourself a favor and get a professional to check it out, then take his advise! Good luck! You're a bigger man than I Gungadin!

Don't waste your effort on Plywood and a layer of Resin and glass. You need Solid Bones man. Your on the water not land. Find a Fiberglass Hull, mono or Multihulled they last much longer.

Good luck my friend. You have a project on your hands

Yes I love the encouragement thank you 😊🤙🏻
Shouldn't the mast have been removed before lifting it out of the water??

Your title is wrong…. i think you wanted to write: you were paid 6k to take this crap
well, good luck! is it plywood + glass fiber or just class fibre hull?
Ply and ply + glass 🙂
So, when are you moving aboard?
Yeah.... you bought a 6k boat and it looks like it. GL with that... you're basically gonna be building a new boat.

So you literally had a crane there..... why not lift the mast down???
