The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

@@ToddSloanIAAN Yes he was on serval county music shows back in the late sixties and early seventies. My Dad used to say there were two kinds of music. County and Western. So that was on TV and Radio at home…:)

I remember him playing on the Grand Old Opray playing the... "Orange Blossom Special." My dad loved that tune. We would be out on the dance floor doing the jig. That's right... that old farm boy sure new how to dance! I was so proud to be a farmer's daughter! 🤠 I miss those days dancing with dad. What I wouldn't do to dance with my father again! Wonderful memories! ❤️

@@that70sgirl90 Database shows 3 Hee-Haw appearances 70-72. Two on Cash and one on Johnny's summer replacement show (The Everly Bros.) and another on The Midnight Special. Trivia Tidbit: Doug and his brother Sammy appeared on Bandstand back in 1957! They were billed as "Doug and Rusty". Don't know why they named their act that.
