I'm a country rapper from Louisiana baton rouge I go by Wyte Lightning ⚡ and Alabama is the greatest country band of all time and charlie Daniels band tell Alabama to make some news songs like the old songs style
Wisconsin here. So many great memories from this band going up to deer camp in the 2000s as a kid. One of the rare bands that sounds as good live as they do on the album.
Has High school kids when this song came out and Alabama became for real , we where all blown away and still fans today for the best band I have ever heard!!!!
Have loved this song for years! Got to see Alabama in Cincinnati a couple times! Then we'd go to bar and play all Alabama songs on Juke Box! Life was so much fun back then!
I used to live on the Tennessee River , was about 60 feet from My back deck , caught My record yellow cat ( 47 pounds ) , Many striped bass that were well over 50 pounds . Not bragging, I just miss living on Tennessee River . Lived there for 7 years .
I didn't come from a family that was big on country, but I've always had a special place for Alabama since I was little. I love a "fiddle in the band" :-)
I remember when I first heard this song. Pretty sure it was 1978. Said then that if they could follow this with another hit they'd be the best selling band in Country Music. They had just the right combination of musical styles. They proved you can have other influences in your music but remain to Country. Too bad the bands today didn't learn the lesson.
this is going to sound strange. But, I have often wondered if Randy Owens and the drummer Mark Herndon ever patched up theit differences? I know at one time they did not get along.
I couldn't agree more. Though it's sad that's life and I got fired myself. Got over it and maybe 6 years later I was offered to come back. I'm retired and happy now and not interested working anywhere 😮😅
i totally agree, i have always loved alabama, think they are the greatest of all time, but to me alabama is randy, teddy, jeff and mark......i dont have one poster, t-shirt, record album or anything alabama that doesnt have marks picture on it....the four of them is alabama, take mark away and its just not the same, i still love them, but it is just not alabama without mark
Hayden Taylor your absolutely right on. Idk what went down between em. Obviously family sticks together because they ganged up on him and blackballed him outta of the band!
sad to see them holding a grudge against one the best country drummers of all time mark Herndon I couldn't believe what randy owen had to say about mark in an article recently it shocked me that he was so greedy and selfish
It is too bad the front three can't find it in their heart to support their drummer who was with them for 28 years and involve him in the reunion. Literally trying to erase him from their past by calling him an "employee" and nothing more. Sorry but that is so wrong!
Jason Wald I'm with ya on that. Someone who made you what you are today?! Whatever happened to fricken loyalty?! Then call him an "employee"?! It was me , I would callin them something, and it would nt be that!!
Oh wow.. Says POP up on top.... Alabama wasn't fucking POP.. They were pure country. I can't believe what i am seeing up there. Never dawned on me before now. smh
I'm Teddy's daughter...and have to say..Alabama has the BEST fans ever!!! Thank you for always supporting "The Boys in The Band"!! God Bless!! xoxoxo
No Problem, saw them in concert a couple times in Cincinnati!

Cept the drummer, fuck him
Rip Jeff Cook
yeah and i’m marks chiropractor too
RIP Jeff Cook (August 27, 1949 - November 8, 2022), the man who did the fiddle break that closes out this wonderful song.
Sadden by the news of Jeff's passing. Such great memories growing up singing in the car💜💜💜💜

yeehaw! I was 3...but I grew up with alabama, and life was simple then.
Hope you got to grow up with music! I have and I still love music!

Loved Alabama growing up, saw them in person once and then went to a bar that had a Band playing all their songs! Such a fun night!
Country music's most successful group, with their first number one! What a find!
This song was first released in May 1980, so this performance was likely from that summer or fall.
I'm so fortunate to be from the heart of Dixie aka Alabama 😊
The most successful group in the history of country music.
This really makes my day yeehaw! Love Alabama for ever
Couldn't agree more 😊
I didn't come from a family that was big on country, but I've always had a special place for Alabama since I was little. I love a "fiddle in the band" :-)
I’ve stumbled upon what I’ve been needing again 😅
can't help but be proud to be from alabama when i hear these guys play.
Should have had Olivia Newton John playing the little or somebody that looked like her rem trick pony
Me and my band opened up for them at Randy's Rodeo in San Antonio Texas right when they got big. Had a band called
Helotes
I love this song! Been years since I heard it! Wow! Blast from the past!
Oh, Alabama's Concert that I saw in Cincinnati was so so wonderful!
Hello Rhonda how are you doing?
Takes me back to the old days

hell yeah
I'm a friend of jeff out here in cali
❤
wants to know if anyone knows what year they recorded this video? not when it was published! thanks!
Mark was not treated badly. He was a paid employee of Alabama from the start. Just because you work for the company doesn't mean you own a part of it.
Bullshit!!!

# 1 Always.
Randy = cool
what year was this ?
+Conraildan The song was released in 1980, so this was probably right around then.
1980
They did Mark wrong!
Damn straight they did!!! He was the backbone if Alabama as far as I'm concerned. I ve followed this band my whole life. I'm 56 now.
@@adriantomlin1362backbone? Hardly.
Nope
I don't know why, but the computer has speeded up this song! Was not this fast! Don't like it as much!
