@@hozie007it was written for Rod but he'd left/was leaving the band. Ronnie Wood sings it for The Faces and legend has it the RS would not sing it until after Ronnie Lane had passed ( out of respect).
I don't care what people say he has the best voice I have ever heard, I taken a lot of criticism since I found him because I'm only 15 and a boy my age to like such someone like him means that I get the mic taken out of me. I know you probably you won't read mr Stewart but on the off chance that you do, thank you your songs have got me through a lot your a one of kind person. A diamond among men as some might say. So just thank you!!
Stick to your guns Will! Not only does Rod have a most unique voice, he absolutely crushes this song! Never apologize for having great taste! You are just ahead of your contemporaries. One day (if they are lucky) they will reach your level of musical maturity!
In the exact same position, same age and all, feel like i was born in the wrong generation! All the singers i like are dead ( George Michael , David Bowie, prince, Freddie mercury, ect) except rod! Got to hang on to it i guess
You too Georgia! Stick to the good music that you and Will have fallen in love with! You can enjoy all of the older artists while you try to sort out any potential new and upcoming artist.
Good for you, Will! Don't care what people say about Rod Stewart's voice! I was your age once...a long, long time ago! I like Rod Stewart's voice too. He is one of my favourite singers! I am so glad I am not 15 anymore! Will, it gets better. It gets way better! Life is good! LOL. Never stop being outspoken, Will, I like you...whoever and wherever you are.
Will .......never ever feel bad for having GREAT taste ,good music is good music . Nothing makes me feel better then good music and this is some of it . I want you to listen to Zeplin and The Stones , The Cure , Journey EVERYTHING including Boy George and Culture Club there will never be anything like the music of that time enjoy it 9h and please take time to listen to Lynard Skinards Simple man you'll enjoy it . I wish you the best life with the best music
As George Bernard Shaw said oh how the youth is wasted on the young! 🎶🌹🎶🌹 This song written by Ronnie Lane states just that🌹 if only I knew now what I should have known then 🌹what a different ending I would have had in my life❤ . Thank you Ronnie Lane for making such a great song about thinking older people aka wiser people don't know what they're talking about when They really do because they lived it 🎶🌎🎶🌎 I believe that song will be playing for many years to come 🎶🎶🎶❤️🎶
Now that I am becoming older I understand what he is singing about. Time goes by so very fast! I wish I knew a lot of things back in the day that I know now. Some people wish they where young again. As for me I choose to embrace aging and enjoy the wisdom it brings.

The message here is that Rod now regrets refusing to sing on the original version in 1973. He wishes he knew what he knows now etc.
Maybe the message here is that Rod regrets hanging out with Britt Eckland at the time. 💸💸💸

I've heard a ton of cover versions of Ooh La La, but only Sir Rod Stewart can sing his songs the best!
Well, he was in the band that did this song, but he didn't write or sing it, so this is a cover.

Co-written by Wood and Lane, original album version is sung by Ron Wood after Lane and Stewart versions were each rejected by themselves.
Si.
Without A Paddle brought me here.. haha thank youu
Do you play Ping Pong
Love it, like most of his work! In my opinion the greatest artist!
THERE IS A WHOLE WORLD WAITING OUT THERE
Poor old Granddad, I laughed at all his words
I thought he was a bitter man
He spoke of women's ways
They'll trap you when they use you
Before you even know
For love is blind and you're far to kind
Don't ever let it show
I wish that I knew what I know now
When I was younger
I wish that I knew what I know now
When I was stronger
The can-can such a pretty show
Will steal your heart away
But backstage back on earth again
The dressing rooms are grey
They come on strong and it ain't too long
For they make you feel a man
But love is blind and you soon will find
You're just a boy again
When you want her lips, you get her cheek
Makes you wonder where you are
If you want some more then she's fast asleep
Leaves you twinkling with the stars
Poor young grandson there's nothing I can say
You'll have to learn, just like me
And that's the hardest way
Ooh la la
Ooh la la, la la, yeah
I wish that I knew what I know now
When I was younger
I wish that I knew what I know now
When I was stronger
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Rod Stewart.... One of the best
There’s so much wisdom in this song, and it’s catchy af. You gotta wonder if it was divinely inspired
Another great song by Rod Stewart. He is an iconic legend
Ronnie Lane. (Faces) wrote it. Rip.
and Ronnie Wood
@@hozie007it was written for Rod but he'd left/was leaving the band. Ronnie Wood sings it for The Faces and legend has it the RS would not sing it until after Ronnie Lane had passed ( out of respect).
Whether Rod refused to sing it out of respect I don't know, but he did sing it eventually as a tribute.
I really wish I could see some of the awesome scenes from the movie " Without a Paddle" with this song... It would be so perfect.
Without a Paddle…….fucking classic
This is one of his best he doesn't sing it enough ❤
If he only had sang the original..........like he was supposed to. Luckily Ronnie crushed it!
Andrew sent me
Anyone listening in 2022
I don't care what people say he has the best voice I have ever heard, I taken a lot of criticism since I found him because I'm only 15 and a boy my age to like such someone like him means that I get the mic taken out of me.
Thank you Ronnie Lane for making such a great song about thinking older people aka wiser people don't know what they're talking about when They really do because they lived it 🎶🌎🎶🌎 I believe that song will be playing for many years to come 🎶🎶🎶❤️🎶
I wish that I had listened to my grandfather and my dad when I was younger and we think they no nothing we no best
Now that I am becoming older I understand what he is singing about. Time goes by so very fast! I wish I knew a lot of things back in the day that I know now. Some people wish they where young again. As for me I choose to embrace aging and enjoy the wisdom it brings.
I would not trade this wisdom for anything. I'm am so grateful I will die knowing

Jammy bastard's 75, what a life he's had and still looking great.
I really don't know which version I prefer, Rod Stewart or Ronnie Wood. They're both awesome versions but I do understand why they decided to release the Ronnie Wood version as it was the best to a lot of people, but I really can't decide. I'm more on the side rod to be fair
Never heard a better voice. Love ooh la-la
One of my favourite Faces songs, written by the late great Ronnie Lane. This is a really good version, but I still prefer Ronnie’s version.
Love that he refused to record this song back in the day so Ronnie sang it and it became a hit
like the song after all
Notes I read were he sang it but didn't like his version. Ronnie sang it and didn't like his, so Glyn Johns had Ron sing it.
@@sailorr4287 You are right: finally it was Ron Wood's version that was published, because the two previous were not satisfying
Wrong.
This has to be my favorite Rod Stewart song of all time
+Geoff Thomas its a cover
@@ssalvisburg1356 funny enough its a cover from a band that he was a part of.
Heh..I love this song. I also love that it's universal appeal comes from the chorus line that everyone remembers, instead of the rest of the song where the singer is lamenting their troubles with women :).
Love playing this song on guitar....
