“Ran into” Rod Stewart at our Publix in South Beach several years ago. I parked next to a black Mercedes AMG something. Driver was on the phone, I fiddle sticked in my car for several minutes and for some reason we got out of our cars at the same time. When I passed his car he said “Good morning” in his “Rod Stewart accent” and that lovely smile on his face. Great energy. I have a couple of his songs in my itunes library.
Similar thing happened to me when I met rod. I am a huge carguy and took a pic of his merc and he walked up behind me and said hello in his accent and his smile is something else.

This is one of if not the best Carpool Karaoke, because Rod Stewart is genuinely interested and humble.
I love Rod my whole life, it is kind of a thing people remember about me. But I disagree! James didn't know the lyrics and anyway I think even if this was a perfect episode the best carpool karaoke was Paul McCartney. To me it's not even close. To see them riding around Liverpool and the fans and the barber on Penny Lane and his childhood house...and I sobbed when James told about his granddad hearing the Beatles for the first time.
