I absolutely LOVE Rod Stewart. My girlfriend and I would go to all his concerts when he came to St. Louis, Mo. I loved my girlfriend, she was my rock when I was diagnosed with MS in 2001. In 2006 she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I remember psyching my self to remember every single moment of our last concert. I can remember her laughing, dancing and having a good time. I lost her in 2009. I miss her terribly. Paula, this one is for you!!

4 weeks at #1 in Billboard and a worldwide hit. He’d go back to a more rock-oriented sound in 1980 and after. This was probably just too tempting to pass up. Everyone was doing disco stuff in 1978 and 79, and if the Stones could get away with it, so could he.
Well, he did it with a full band so technically, he didn’t sell out, like any bonafide rockstar, he improvised and head on straight to the #1 spot on Billboard.

That said, it's a good song and made it to number 1 for a reason. That bass player is just killing it! He really makes the song work.

Heard this song one day in grade 8 when the music would play in the halls 5 minutes before class, that was in 2019 I am now almost 20 and going into the year 2025. Wish I lived back during these times when music was peak 😪
When I was a kindergartner I remember singing along to this song on the radio and my mother stopping and telling me that it wasn't appropriate. I had no idea what she meant. It was on the radio for us kids to hear so I thought it was a song for kids to sing. It made me embarrassed years later when I figured it out.
