    It's definably it good machine i got 2 of them, very important for people to know if you know the venue tell them to kill the heat of ac because sometimes the vents r pointing to the dancer exactly where you shooting and if they are strong unit it will blow the smoke away.
    Ones again love the review

    FYI: "Sublimation" is the term you are looking for... going directly from the solid ice state to the gas state, with out a liquid state!

    Hello , DJ Mikey Mike ... Great video's been watching a few of yours. Anyway myself getting back into DJing . I DJ about 10 years ago , in Maryland area worked with several Company's . I did leave DJing because I just got so busy I was away from the wife too much so it took my time away from her. Well not to tell a sad story but about a year and a half she had a stroke took all she had she is totally Disability . I have learned a lot about caregiving and caregivers and its not pretty . So i need to get extra money in again so figured why not do something I loved . Anyway sorry for my sad story just like your videos , remind me of my shows and how i loved playing with the people and making them happy for a time to remember. Now a days everyone is a DJ but its hard to find a good DJ. Keep up the good work .

    I have been using dry ice fog machines for weddings for years and made many couples happy.... I usually do it twice a night. Once for the first dance and a second time after the cake ceremony and their 2nd dance. Chauvet sells a rolling cart for the fogger, hence no need to make one. It's not that expensive.

  • @directsound
    @directsound  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    WOW I never heard that price but I spent $1150 on my Dry Icer a few years ago and LOVE it so now the Nimbus is cheaper and beter! might not be 599 but worth every you will spend !
    Thanks for the input

    Hi I’m Karl, I work for Chauvet so let me answer some Nimbus questions.
    -How much is dry ice: $0.75cents to $1.25 pound
    -How much do I need: 10 pounds per dance.
    -How long does it last: 6 to 10 minutes depending on how fast your release the fog
    -How much can I charge for a “Dancing in the Clouds” first dance? $200-$400 depending on your market
    -How much does the Nimbus cost? Manufacturer Retail Price is $999

    This thing is sooo cool!! The scooper is a great idea. I know I would be dumb enough to forget to not leave the scoop in the cooler. I would get a plastic scoop from a restaurant supply store. As always, GREAT video Mike!!

    Thanks for the suggestion MM. Unfortunately, I received my unit that very same day that I used it so I didn't have the opportunity to experiment with it before the event. There's not many places here that carry the pellet dry ice and unfortunately I'm going to have to buy it on Friday, the day before the event, since they're closed on the weekends.

    Kind of sucks it starts pouring out the effect before you drop the basket. Makes it tricky for doing a first dance right after introductions. I bet that effect would distract from the intros. Am I wrong?

    Hi, Chauvet never posted $599 or $700 as the price of this unit. It's been $999 MSRP since the day we announced the price. This price you saw on the internet must have been a dealer's mistake.

    Great video. Very informal. So these kinds of machines dont actually take any FOG JUICE? its just dry ice?

  • @KarlDetkenProDJ
    @KarlDetkenProDJ 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    CONTINUED
    -Weight 30 pounds
    -How much water does it need? 5 pounds
    -How much does it weight? 30 pounds without water & ice
    -Can I use hot water out of the faucet to speed up the process? Yes, standard faucet water is 105 degrees avg. The Nimbus heats water to 175. Even faster, in the US banquet halls dispense 140 degree water avg.
    -How high will it go. Fog stays around knee high.
    -Doesn't this set off fire alarms like haze & fog? NO, this is dry ice and will not set of alarms.

    Nice explanatory video. Does it just keep running unlike a regular fog machine which needs a burst and then reheat time (unless it’s a constant fogger of course)? I’ve never used a dry ice one 10:25 Don’t do as I do do as I say and 10:55 Don’t stick your tongue on it : ) 16:20 No steamed wet floor!

  • @InTheMixStudios

  • @zamanica
    @zamanica 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    The real take away from this is those pellets, man that worked well, with blocks i am always breaking it up in to odd sized chunks, i have used heated basket style foggers before and none look this good, it is not because this is a better fogger IMO, but that pellet dry ice is the way to go. Thanks for your video and i will be searching for pellets now.

    Hello, my name is aleksander lima, I live in Angola, I bought a dry ice nimbus machine, I'm having some Co2 problems, I need your urgent help. Twice I used Co2, and it did not work, the dry ice did not give the expected result. The ice did not form the desired cloud and took less than 1 minute. Please would like to know what type of composition is Co2, for DRY ICE, so that I can offer a good job to my clients. Thank you and I look forward to your cooperation.

    If you were to use a Nimbus say, in a theatrical production, are you able to prevent the fog from being dispersed prematurely? Or, would it be best to take it far backstage, load it up, whenever the cue/scene where the fog is needed is called, THEN deploy it?

    • @MikeCampSucksFatDick
      @MikeCampSucksFatDick 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ohh okay yeah I heard that in the vid but I must have missed where you said an amount. But time of sale aside, if I'm trying to run this for four hours straight and it takes ten min to out gas ten pounds and ten min after to heat up, then 30 pounds an hour sounds right or is it overkill

    The absolute worst case scenario with dry ice never seems to be posted on any of these videos. Everyone talks the frost bite. Everyone talks the expanding gas in a sealed container that can't withstand the pressure. The number one danger with these units is someone passed out on the ground, or perhaps someone with health issues laying down in the path of the c02. Ive done enough shows that I've seen a drunk guy passed out under a table, and for this reason i will only use dry ice to chill my hazer if i can't find any CaCl2. It only takes a couple minutes to asphyxiate someone. Ice can also do an 8 hour non stop below -30c, while dry ice sublimation is never less than half hour per fill. Keep up the great vids Mikey Mike!

I haven't the chance yet to try it with one of my aurora lights i guess that would give an amazing effect too!

      Simply pour it back into the 5gl buckets I fill it up with or take it out back and pour it into the planter and water the flowers :)

      Briian Maroquuin yes just pour it out the hole in front. No fan just a water heater it uses the pressure from the hot water and cold ice to push it out the hole
