      I love the way it disperses when adding water its like a raindrop. Looks like the piece is raining with explosive colours. Oh by the way. I really love this video thank you so much I appreciate this so much please marry me 😂 I'm only interested in mutual relationship, and that's watching your videos till the day I die,nothing more nothing less.. Well maybe a kiss on the cheek.. Nothing more. I'm alone my entire life, please ignore me 😫😞😢. I just want to be with someone, I guess the time will come.. I not am not interested in S%&.

      Kirsty Partridge Art my favourite bit about watercolours is how effortless it looks and worst bit is how hard it is to get that look

      My favourite thing about watercolours is how beautifully the colours mend together like fireworks in a night sky!
      That’s just what I think, kinda weird but, eh?

    My grandma loved painting, especially watercolour.
    Recently she died, and left all of her craft stuff to me. I last painted 17 years ago, so just trying to remember what I'm doing!

I don't know where you learnt how to use materials (I'm largely self taught regarding most colour media), but somehow you tend to give exactly the same info and advice as I do, which makes your videos brilliant to show my pupils! Kristy, I can’t tell you how much you have helped me get involved with art. I started out so green, but with your help and lots of practice, I was able to excel my drawing and confidence in a short while. I started with the basics of graphite and charcoal and now have moved to watercolors. I tried color pencils, but found difficulties with finding the right type of media for them. Watercolor is where I want to be first because the ultimate goal is to get to oils. Thank you so much for all these videos, you not only make it fun to learn, but your positive and confidence building attitude is always wonderful to hear. Keep making the world a better place.

      Donna Walter ...sometimes, people will dislike a video because they can’t stand the person’s voice or perhaps the person is talking too fast for them. Or maybe some of the information is wrong.
      Some people are sensitive about music in the background .
      We can’t know why.
      But don’t be upset when someone doesn’t agree with your opinions or feelings.

      All I ever use is a Koh-I-nor round stacking watercolour set and pentel Aquash pens (say $15 max). The paper can be expensive, but depending on what I'm doing, I find computer paper works okay so long as you keep the colour very saturated.

    just a quick tip: if you want to paint realistic with a photo reference, just pin the photo over your paper and draw the outlines. You will see the outlines on the paper you're painting on, but once the paint is on you can't see it anymore. This is a great technique for beginners who don't want to draw the thing and just want to paint. It really helps me a lot.

    Just one bit of information at 14:14 - using complementary colors together is actually a good way to make shadows, or areas with less intensity. It's best to pre-mix them on your palette, so you don't have the same grayish-brown, but using complimentary colors in the same area isn't something that's wrong. It can be a stylized addition to your piece, or used to dilute color and make it less intense, or desaturated. It's sometimes interesting to use in the form of a glaze, once the first layer has dried up. Just my two cents on it, but saying that "you don't want to do this" is not the best bit of information since I've seen many people use this as a technique for their 2-4 color pieces.

    I learned from DrawingWiffWaffles that you can roll the kneaded eraser into a sausage shape and roll it over the pencil sketch to pick up excess graphite quickly without having to drag it (while preserving the important bits). It’s very helpful for an impatient person like myself that wats to sketch it out and start coloring. Thank you for this brief and helpful tutorial!

    I love your art and demos. You are my favorite. I love the colors, unpredictability, imagination and a relaxed feeling while I’m doing it. I also feel some pride when I’m done. I would like to see one thing if possible, that’s a finished painting in the demo. Keep giving us your talent please. I appreciate all you do. Happy days to you and yours.

      Best trick I've heard: make multiple little sketches to compose, sketch fast and simple for your final work - you can mess it up, you will be prepared and not discouraged to draw it again.

    • @stephw1363
      @stephw1363 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thats a great idea....but i cannot bring myself to practice on the gooood paper....its so nice! But i must or i will never understand what it can do.....courage required

      @thomasseillan8017 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@stephw1363 I feel that pain!!
      Think of it that way: prepare the composition on lesser paper, try colours on a good papers you grid and duplicate the chosen composition as a sketch, that way you get multiple attempt on the same page, less waste! Ultimately go for the real deal on the most sacred good paper 😎

    Hack: some water bottles have ridges at the bottom if you empty and cut it, and use it as a watercolor cup the texture at the bottom, really help thoroughly clean the brush💜

      I was SO BAD when I first started with watercolours, I didn’t know where I was going with it, it always looked weird and I just couldn’t control it. I thought it was like the hardest medium ever, but nowadays it’s my favourite.
      If you like it keep trying! It takes time for you to understand how it works because it’s so different from other mediums, but it gets easier :)
