I'm a professional storyboard artist and have been drawing all my life-- but after art became my job I lost the spark to do it at home. But discovering watercolors and your channel has revitalized my spark for doing art for FUN! I love watching your videos during the day and going home to apply the techniques at home.
It's so nice to be excited about art again. Thank you so much for these videos!

I've always struggled with the need for every single one of my art pieces to look perfect on the first try, watercolour was one of the methods that I never really got the hang of and hated that I couldn't get it the first time I did it, but that expectation is just not realistic. Thank you for this tutorial, I hope to become more patient with myself.

I love the fact that not everyone has the patience to do watercolor! I also love the luminescence of the colors as they shine through one another layer after layer. You do a wonderful job bringing the vibrancy of the paint through your subjects, whether animals or people! Nice job! Thanks for the videos and tutorials.

I am glad I came across your channel. Once again, I am starting to dabble in watercolor painting. Still trying to get a handle on the basics, and I think tutorial like this will be of immense help. I could not see your work area, so I could not how you handle your rinse vs clean water. Also, I could not tell whether your watercolor paper was flat (which I think it) or was tilted, like on an easel. I don’t know which layout is the best for watercolor painting. I wish you had a tutorials on such basics. Thank you for this tutorial!

I painted this with some variations but it turned out so beautifully. The colors blended so well. But to give the clouds effect, i added some white highlights and blended it using the criss-cross method. And OMG it came out so beautifully. Thankyou sm for this tutorial!!

Saw there was 2 thumbs down, Kirsty. What the hell, don't understand that. You are a amazing teacher as well as an artist,, so I figure theymust be trolls. Everytime I watch you I learn something new or learn it in a different way so then it sinks in. Sometimes it is the repetiveness that makes it apart of me. One thing I wish our Patreon artist did and that was, Let us know just how long they spent on a piece. To me that is just as important as the paper, as it gives me a guideline in how I am progressing.

Thank you for being specific about the paper you use! My paper dries out so fast i can't seem to get anything done. I will most definitly try the arches cold press and see where that takes me. I also really liked the tip you gave on stoping if the paper start to dry out. Letting it dry completely then re-wetting. I will certainly keep that tip in my back pocket. Love your videos and your clear, straight forward explanations. Im seriously thinking about signing up for your Patreon channel.
