    Did the job. Observed the five turns. Once fitted and used the screwed in side was forced off and became detached from the module. Brake failure! Watched this video afterwards to see if I had done anything wrong. I have not. Grrr. Must be another problem. Land Rover we love you. We love you to death Lol.

      The most common cause of failure in your exact issue is incorrectly fitted or corroded or broken handbrake return springs, it's the spring that goes on the brake cable inside the drum and wraps around the arm of the brake shoe

      Is the motor power cables clipped on correctly?

    Great video! Any idea what the part (hand brake mechanism) with the blue plug is called, or what part number it has? Managed to break the the thin, orange wire on mine...

      I’m not sure what you mean, do you mean the plug that stays in the car broke?

    • @sveinistube
      @sveinistube 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@maxautoukI mean the white plastic piece in the bottom left, that latches with the screw coming in from the right. It has an orange “ribbon wire” that goes up to the blue plug. You reconnect it at 10:47 in the video.
      Anyway, managed to source a used one to replace the one I broke, hope it works 😅
      Thanks again for a great video👍

    I need to replace the board in mine. Do you think it could be swapped over with the module in place on the truck?. Thanks

    • @maxautouk
      @maxautouk  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It may very well need recoding to the vehicle with a diagnostic tool if the circuit board is swapped

    Can the EPB be removed without removing all the cables to the cab and the shoes.

      @@andrewmurray4113 if the spring on the inside of the backing plate that hooks over the lever arm of the cable is corroded or damaged replace that too or it will let the epb cable slip out and you'll need a scan tool to set it back to the latching position

    Hi buddy this is proberly a long shot as this was a year ago but I've done my ebp a few weeks ago managed to get another look at it today and even if I manually latch it on as soon as the handbrake is applied from inside the car it just detaches with out hardly any force and its got me completely baffled as I've reassembled all the shoes and everything again and I cant see anything wrong but I'm obviously missing something somewhere

    • @maxautouk
      @maxautouk  ปีที่แล้ว

      Is the spring inside the backing plate broken? It needs to hook around the lip where the handbrake cable comes through and it needs to latch into a groove on the retaining tab on the lever otherwise the cable will repeatedly slip out

    • @joshualamb4060
      @joshualamb4060 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maxautouk yes both sides are as I checked that today after reading the comment someone else left onthis video but there defiantly in and onto the retaining tab of the groove inside the arm on the shoe

    • @maxautouk
      @maxautouk  ปีที่แล้ว

      Might be worth checking all of the basics again like the setting of the shoes, making sure the handbrake cables are all moving inside their sleeves etc
