Simply the best channel to give pilots a heads up in the industry. Awesome stuff
Thank you!
Thank you. Keep up the good work. 😎
I’m currently studying to retake my part 107 test and saving up for my drone I’ve had some small set backs but I’m extremely focused on making a true impact in this industry. this video was so helpful and i appreciate your overall content on the industry.
Have you looked at the Part 107 recently? There are some updates I'm sure you'll love to hear especially since you've taken the test before the update.
@@LearnGarifuna most definitely I’m always looking and keeping up to date on the FAA in general as well as new Dji releases and other brands of drones.
@@tyjuanconnell5791. I am taking my 107 exam this Tuesday with averaging 95% accuracy on every on of the current questions however regardless I receive 93 to 98 (sometimes 100% . But like what was mentioned above the FAA is steadily changing questions around. I am not sure exactly when they did it last time, I assume 7 months ago or so however I was just notified that as of this coming Thursday, questions will be changed again. Therefore, I wanted to get the test over with using my knowledge from the test materials I already paid and utilized.
One area I learned a long time ago as a certified first responder was to average 10% more than what the state or national test requires to pass. I have always went by this rule of thumb sort of speak.
For example, in Florida for all certified first responders, cadets are taught that it would take an individual to score 90% on every test during the courses just to pass the 80% on the actual state exam this helps if there are wrong answers on the test one can still pass it.
The 107 requires a 70% passing score therefore to be on the absolute minimum safe side of passing even with new exams coming out this coming Thursday, numerous trial test should be made daily working more on the questions one is not sure about in order to achieve the 80% or better.
My question to you now that you have your 107, can you advise if you actually started working in the field being paid? How are you doing getting jobs , any insight that you can offer a new 107 holder and what type of drone did you end up buying?
@@LearnGarifuna..... Do you know how often the test questions are changed or added? It is my understanding that this exact thing is occurring this coming Thursday therefore I wanted to get my 107 done no later than Tuesday since my studies are obviously from materials of the previous exam questions that surround nearly 321 questions on various test.
Great video, like always! Everything is clear and understandable! The best channel to learn about drone industry.
I appreciate that!
You're awesome! It's always a good day when you upload videos 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Glad you like them!
Trust me on this: Life is about luck. Everybody gets lucky but not always in the area you would love to be in. I am fortunate to know the feeling when i get lucky/meet the right person/being at the right place at the right time. That's how i got into 2 other businesses in my life. It's not happening with my drone business. Keep trying though. Even you mentioned in the video: someone introduced you to your future business partner. THAT is how it happens for most people. Unfortunately you have very little chance starting on your own. You have a chance, but very little. You have to get lucky.
What are those 2 other bussiness you have been sucess?
1- Started to work with a friend in construction and learned to do STUCCO. A year later there was a boom in construction and there was a huge demand for stucco work. Started our own business. Jobs came in by themselves, no advertising, couldn't keep up.
2- Years later still in the renovation business i really craved a job that is physically easier and cleaner, pays better. One day i did some stone work for an older gentleman who was a blinds installer and about to retire. After a week he asked me: do you want to take over this business?....@@nestorlarez336
So true… in the 90s I had the dream job, being paid to live like a king in the Bahamas while flying from island to island… then it ended… and I couldn’t get a job flying anything. Take the highs with the lows.
Luck is where opportunity meets hard work
@@nestorlarez336Stucco and Blinds. Didn't really want neither. Just fell in my lap.
Appreciate u sharing
Another great video, Dylan.
Thank you!
Great video !!
Hey Dylan, thanks for posting- see on your map there you mention St. Louis in September for the LiDAR demo, but I can't seem to find that event link on the page on the site. I googled and found the eventbrite ticket, but I wanted to confirm if that was still in your plans. Love your channel, thanks for sharing all the great info. Cheers-
Very helpful
You really open eyes I’m thinking about buying a drone, but that’s actually what I was looking for was what places were pay me to do those kind of shots and would be worth it after about the drone.. but the stuff you showed me was great so now I know I can make some money now I just need to get a drone
Great video, Dylan. Thanks for the insight.
It looks like I missed out on signup for the Louisville workshop on 9/16. Is there any opening or waiting list?
Let’s gooo 🎉! I finished getting my drone 107 license so excited you’re coming to Chicago! Where would your event take place can’t wait to learn about mapping really serious taking this very seriously
Shoot me an email and I’ll get you the details: dylan@pilotbyte.com
Thanks please post videos of work flow as this help us beginners confidence to try out in tge field
Very nice
Dylan, you have a lot to teach me. You and I will meet in the near future.
Dylan, will you possibly be back in Charlotte next year? I want to attend your class but cannot make the August date. TIA
New subscriber and Part 107 Certificate holder here, looking forward to many more of your videos and workshops. But first, let me teach you something. Illinois has a silent "s" (i-luh-noy). Sorry to be picky, but I was born there, drives me nuts.....lol. Anyway, I do look forward to learning from you. Thanks for the videos.
My speech is terrible so I don’t mind being corrected haha
Dylan for inspections does it require certifications or any credentials?
Hi there great video was wondering if you have any any idea if the air 3 is compatible with drone deploy or other mapping and photogrammetry software thanks for your time
It will probably take about a year until its supported. It's up to DJI to allow for 3rd party companies to develop apps for their drones.
lidar ! ROCK
Come check it out!
I’m an electrician for a nation wide company in the commercial industry so we do large scale buildings. any tips on how to approach them with providing drone service for the company?
Dylan, Great video. I do not own a drone but I am doing research as I am looking at this as a possible means of additional income to do now that I am getting ready to retire.
Dylan, out of the 5 DSP/DPNs you listed, which one, in your opinion is the best option for new drone pilots? I’m sure they all have pros and cons to each. Thanks, and enjoy your content. Very good information.
Sign up for all of them!
@@DylanGorman Another one you can mention is bees360 which is more like a doordash for property inspections. you may want to give them a try.
I am getting really interested in done piloting. Have always liked the idea for a side gig and make extra money. What would you recommend on getting started
Dylan, are you in the Tampa area and do any in person training or group meetups or anything like that? Thanks, love the content!
I am in Tampa! I have 2 workshops coming, check the two links in the top of the description box in this video to learn more about each one
Dylan, thank you for sharing this valuable information. I am an Army Veteran looking to contract with the Government providing drone service inspecting solar panels, powerlines, and Windmills.
Hi Dylan, I take my first 107 exam this coming Tuesday and from my understanding, this coming Thursday the FAA is either changing or adding questions to the test. *One thing I would like to do since I am aa well within the state of Florida, i was raised and worked down in south Florida however retired now and reside in tampa bay florida. Anyways will you be updating others on yourube when you hold these courses with the workshops? I am willing to for sure travel anywhere in Florida and certain cities across the country as well* .
Currently i am averaging around 95% accuracy on all the recent questions possible on the current test yet it ranges from 93% to 100% through a drone school program therefore i believe in my heart that i will be fine. Hopefully i could get the average up to 98% to 100% prior to tuesday. Please note as I was just informed that either test questions will be changed and or added as of this coming Thursday therefore i wanted to get the test regarding my current study materials over and done with in order not to fail any part of the current exam that i paid for.
Thank you for including one specific area that i did not even realize about in this video therefore i subscribed to your channel and saved this video for future reference.
How much would you charge per month to create a weekly update website like this? Just curious what are the costs for running. Website, Domain, to give the client?
What brand drone do you fly?
Hey Dylan, awesome video! Always enjoy your content. I’m in Ft. Lauderdale and I’m having trouble getting business. I’ve been trying to get roofers like you mentioned but nothing. Real estate is coming up dry. I’m in almost every DPN but no bites. Do you have any additional advice?
"How to start, have friends who own real estate"
Okay, and if i dont? If i have zero connections who own property or a business that needs drone photography / video?
How do you as a complete rookie (even if you've practiced a lot and produced a lot of great quality footage), approach your first client?
Do you randomly call up a real estate broker and ask for a meeting to do a free sample, or do you just sit and wait for someone to find your reels?
Nobody helps you unless the market is already saturated, dead or they are selling courses rather than their network! Everything can be learned but the contacts is EVERYTHING
If i dont make a anything from this at least the drone could. Be decent hobby.
But ima give it a shot
Really pushing the DPN line in this one. Still, a good place to start and get a feel for the industry needs.
Great video without all the silliness and terrible language along with loud background music. Thanks for being professional. Jim’s Drones.
Thank you!
Would it be of any value to attend those events? I have very little experience.
Check out some of our testimonials! I’ve taught over 50 students this year. The links in the description will take you to the booking page with all the info!
Hi Dylan. I'm really struggling to find my target audience. Tried targeting boat owners to take pics of them under sail to print on canvas. Nobody cared. Trying to switch to marketing shots now but really don't know where to start. Do you have any tips?
Might try to put them up on envato market as a contributor/author
Dylan, if you need help subcontracting any drone work in Ky please let me know. Would be glad to help.
Finally got my 107, waiting on the permanent one in the mail but I got the temp printed out! :D Can you talk about what are the best residual income potential niches for drone photography with something like a Mini 2 SE or Mini 3, etc? :) Thanks, Dylan!
Took exactly 8 weeks for me to get mine in the mail
I have my 107 license now and DJI drone to start now but before I get started I am going to get more comfortable with it. My last name is very well known In a few states with the fact the family owns a 5 star restaurant (18 in total since 1948 / 74 years now) that's still going strong) the family is well known for its mechanic shop and local pro race car driver and we have a real estate agent and real estate agency under my last name also.
However I do not want to rush getting clients to get overwhelmed so I need to take my time a bit.
Multispectral is our avenue... Everyone needs to eat.. Helping farmers gain a better insight to there crops. Saving money on water, manpower and all other associated cost gets there bottom line down.
Are you using DroneDeploy for that and would you recommend?
Bro it’s insane that this content is free.
The Market is flooded in the UK, I'm not saying it's impossible, but without industry contacts or at least 3 years experience, nothing more than a side hustle in my opinion (plus you have the weather to contend with).
That’s true. Every region is different and complex in its own nature. I’m not too familiar with the UK markets so I can’t speak on my experience with it.
Is this a reupload? You look much younger and you say 5yrs of experience. it should be 10 by now. (just watched one of your video from last year at 9yrs experience)
9 years of flying, 5 years of doing this professionally!
thanks for the clarification @@DylanGorman
But you'll have to submit to the FAA shakedown and pay $150. for the privilege to take the two hour test as part of FAA's efforts to reduce the number hobby drones to make way for the corporate delivery drones..
I am 2 minutes 20 seconds in and what I am hearing is, you need a friend that paves the way for you. Making money with a drone in today's market is near impossible unless you have money or connections.
Quitting attitude. Go sit on the couch and cry.
What is a DSP?
Drone service provider!
@@DylanGorman thank you Dylan 👍
The Ai audio is sooo bad
Whoops
Lol like everyone has family and friends. It's like if you gave advice to find work and you said "ask a job from your dad the business owner"
the rest is usa specific.
It’s just a suggestion. Building relationships is key in any industry that you are trying to build your own business in. You can apply this to really anything in life.
You speak so fast .. thought I have set wrong speed for the video
Why you do everything that everyone else do, for example, ** 5 ways** why 5???? WHY JUST WHY, why NOT 4 or 6 or 3 or 10 or 9 or 20? Don’t copy!! Be yourself, an original. When you do it, you will see the result anytime and think OMG HOW I EVEN OR WHAT HAPPENED THAT I NEVER GOT TO BE MYSELF. Think about THAT 🧠
It sounds like a voiceover, maybe add some echo? thank you for making this video!
There was a lot of noise going on in the background so I tried my best to muffle it.
You seem broke see ya
Hey Dylan, do you have an email address in which I can contact you? Thanks 🙏
