I always liked the way the original was repetitive, but yeah this remix really makes the theme more alive, I just think for starting battles that might be quicker, the Paper jam version was good with the way it used the short theme only with starting enemies before meeting Paper Mario.

The Super Mario RPG Remake on Nintendo Switch would do the same for their Battle Theme. As for the Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door Remake... Remember how The Origami King has different versions based on what Area you're in?
I haven’t played this remake yet and prefer the louder, stronger sound of the original tune. But... The added “verse” break is should have been in there from the beginning. It’s a great addition to what was already a masterpiece!

I think I may personally prefer Paper Jam’s instruments, But this is still an amazing remake and I adore the bit they added to diminish the repetition.

As someone who heard of the 3DS remake before the original, I can confirm that this was one of my favorite themes in a Mario and Luigi game. Ok jokes aside, this is one of the best song remakes I’ve seen in a Nintendo game. This is such a huge upgrade from the bland and repetitive battle theme from the original GBA version of Superstar Saga. I love the new instruments and added melodies that just give it a sense of charm.

DX is my third favorite battle theme only overcomed by Okey Dokey from Bowser's Inside Story and Attack the Enemy from Partners in Time.

Damn you. I’m remembering all the car rides and spots at home I’d sit in my childhood playing this game. My childhood best friend thought they said “let’s tickle” “honky donkey” at the start 😅 weird kids
If there is one thing i will never forgive this game for, its making the "advance" bros moves a completely separate (and _costlier)_ move, instead of just "the same move but with alternative action commands." Idk, it just felt more unique to me. It actually felt like you had mastered the move and knew some sort of secret technique, instead of just unlocking yet another option in the menu. And the fact that they cost more just ticks me off. I know it isnt that much of a problem since you'll likely win the fight long before bros points become a problem, but its just the principle of the concept, y'know? Its the same move, just different! Not better, just different. Hell, some of the advance versions literally are the exact same move, just with a finisher put on the end (namely, cyclone bros). Other than that, the remake was spectacular! But that one little detail kinda ruined it for me.

Yeah. The track reminds me a lot of how Spyro season of Ice sounds on the gameboy. (Through the speakers on the console, I mean) Its really uncanny.

Didnt like that version...the upbeats sounded like dowbeats if that makes sense...it threw off the whole thing for me
