This is weirdly one of those mashups where I hear the differences very distinctly. At one point, I hear the DX mix come through and at another I can't help but hear the original. However, I still hear both tracks at once and it proves how unique the remix is and how prevalent the old track is. This was a good idea.
I really like how they mix together so perfectly that this could totally be the actual music in the remake of the game and it wouldnt even sound out of place.
I just had the most brilliant idea. They should make a game where Modern Mario and GBA Mario team up against Modern and GBA Bowser and this is the music that will play when you are fighting a boss.
Ok. Boss idea. Boss has shield that has 7 layers, each requiring 200 damage to pierce. Shield layer breaks after an attack if pierced. Boss itself has 400hp. Boss's attacks regenerate one layer of shield (max of 7 layers at a time) if a bro is hit by boss's attacks. Boss attacks are timed with the music. Attacks timed with the beat (signified by a plus shape on the guy flashing with the tempo) deal double damage.
Reason why i made the boss itself into glass is because this boss would have an effective health pool of 1800 HP, plus the ability to recover at least 200 of it's effective HP per hit on it's turn (as the mechanic would basically restore the previous layer and slap a brand new one on top, or just heal the 7th layer.) (200*7+400)
Boss Idea: You're with Mario, Luigi, and a helper of some sort, let's go with the babies. The boss hypnotizes everyone, but Mario breaks free. Then your evil teammates use attacks that you learned throughout the game against you. When you attack the boss enough, they lose control of one member at a time, and you have to slowly rebuild your team. (Your partner could also be Paper Mario or Bowser, and the boss would also take control of Starlow.)
Back in the older days, making the soundtrack for a video game was simple: compose a score of however many instrumental lines, put it all into the computer to make the sounds, put the resulting file into the game. When the game companies remaster those tunes, they worry a little too much about which instrument is the main melody, which is the accompaniment, and adjusting the volumes accordingly. Know what I mean, guys?

Boss idea: A conductor that can gets influenced by the the audience and each person in the audience that says "Encore" allows the boss to get an extra attack. But each of the audience members likes a different type of music and the next attack is also telegraphed. Attack the right audience member so the next attack won't get doubled
