In case you're still reading this 2 years on - it looks to me like you could remove the motherboard, including the heatsink, without unscrewing the heatsink first. I would like to replace the D-pad, that's why I'd prefer to do it that way. Can you confirm that it could work that way?

Bro, how about unsoldered usb ports on board? Did you find something interesting to mod?
Also can you check sutable old GPD Win 1 case (same size as 3ds xl) to GPD WIN 2 ?

why didn't you disconnect the battery first before the heatsink?

MetalRhino42 bad habit of mine, I've taken the heatsink off multiple times and for some reason I've always disconnected the battery after removing the heatsink.
